Peter I bought the single headset when you first demonstrated it the only problem I had was removing the plug from the radio with my big fingers. I overcome the problem by wrapping a length of cut down insulation tape to make a tab between the two pins it works a treat.
Great review. Bought an Icom BM-17 for my IC705, waiting for Icom to come out with adapter cables for the headsets. Did buy an HTH-IC with will work with it now. Great review!
Impressive video and headset. The headset to me has a kind of "air traffic control" ambience - just really clear. The ICOM single mic seems a bit rough in comparison. I have the ICOM 7300 so I think the headset will be ordered today! M7MSR
Thanks Peter, informative as usual, just one issue from a person with hearing in only one ear! Your commentary came through in both left and right but the test sections only in the right channel. Was that intentional or is my equipment faulty? Regards and thanks
Gosh your videos are getting more and more professional Peter. Hollywood will start sitting up and taking notice. I found the audio through the monitor circuit was excellent with both. However, when using the external receiver, the audio was terribly narrow. That might be a function of the filter bandwidth being too narrow on the receiver. I have both the single and double earpiece from the previous generation of Heil headsets, called the Heil Traveller headsets. They are brilliant with a beautiful PTT in line, built in. Going forward, I would only opt for the dual arrangement. I found the single earpiece made it difficult to hear the audio clearly, unless I was in a quiet room where I could hear a pin drop.

Hand Mic sounded better than the Heil to me. But I don't like alot of bass sound in my audio. I prefer audio with a punch.

How are we supposed to judge quality when the test audio is panned full left. I like to use both ears when making judgements.

Great audio. What Filter TX wide mid or narrow..?
Were your EQ and compression settings the same for both microphones? And what were they if you don’t mind?
