I love watching your progress! Such a smart idea to use other notebooks lol! I also love the 'professional tools' bit because I literally do the same thing, using a stapler and such! Also, are you using matte lamination sheets? The end result is so pretty!
eheh thank you! It's a shame I didn't end up using them, now I'm stuck with 20 notebooks 😂 And I'm using a matte lamination roll that you cut by yourself! But you have to touch it as less as possible because some particles can get trapped between the paper and the lamination 😩 But the result is really pretty and professional!
Ahhh the cinch is exactly the kind of machine I was searching for when I was looking at making my own calendars but I couldn’t find something! I definitely want one now because those hardback notebooks look so cool. I also think it was very clever of you to just replace the cover of bought notebooks. I wonder if that’s more cost effective than printing paper 🤔 Also, I would be very interested in seeing what you get up to with your masters course :)
hi!! eheh I think that making the notebooks from scratch is cheaper, but I guess longer. I was almost going to buy a guillotine and then I found the cinch, it's fun to use!! not very cheap (I got it for £67 on amazon) but cheaper, smaller and lighter than a guillotine :) the original wires by the same brand are quite expensive though, but I've just ordered another brand that should fit, I hope. And thank you!! I look forward to working on some stories and share it with you all :)
@@JessWasHere it looks really good to use. I don't really like using spiral bound notebooks myself, but I think they looks really nice, and if I could find a way to make a calender with it that would be amazing! Are you doing an illustration masters?
@@monkeymintaka yes! I was thinking about making notepads (so with the spiral on the top) with a softcover on the top (and a piece of cardboard on the back) as a cheaper variant. So very similar to calendars! I still have to manage to get perfect circles when I close the wire -some of them turn out a bit wonky, but I would be happy to share my progress, in case you decide to get one! And yes, I'm attending a master in children's book illustration, I'm at the second year of the part-time course :)
@@JessWasHere oooh! I want to do it too! But I've already done a masters, and I think one masters in a lifetime is enough 🤣 I'm trying to learn on my own though 😁
Wow that Cinch machine looks so cool! It's lovely watching your process for the different projects you make. Xx
The bookmarks look great and the notebooks too! It's good that you made it back for Christmas.
Thank you very much, Emma! ☺️ Have a lovely Christmas!!
The notebooks turned out sooo cute with the spiral!!!🥰
Sorry I saw this just now! Thank you very much Sandra! 💖
