- SPY interviews famous and beloved henchman in the James Bond series, Richard Kiel! Kiel was best known for his role as the villainous steel-toothed Jaws in the James Bond films, "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977) and "Moonraker" (1979).
See JAWS teeth in the new 007 exhibit Exquisitely Evil: 50 Years of Bond Villains at the International Spy Museum, Washington, DC.

Earlier, an 'interview' with Richard popped up in my recommended videos. It was only 5 minutes on some crappy talk show. I felt it was unfair, Richard had hours upon hours worth of stories to tell. I'm glad I came across this interview.
Lovely man heart of gold sorely missed by all....
Michele you are absolutely right
Richard Kiel was a treasure and this is what's great about UA-cam is that interviews like these are saved for us to enjoy whenver we like
When I was a kid watching The James Bond Films, Jaws scared the beejees out of me! I never met Richard Kiel but darn he seems like a gentle soul! What really made me laugh was when I saw him I'm Happy Gilmore! Lol, I'll see you in the parking lot! RIP Richard Kiel! 🙏
Again Ty for this lovely gem of an interview!
Such a lovely guy
Such a sweet man
I miss you legend ! Thanks for all the great memories & all the great movie moments !
He's a larger than life character who speaks so graciously with a wonderful sense of humor. I also watched his appearance on Letterman before the move "Pale Rider" was released. I enjoy his interviews. Thank you for posting this.
What a sweet sweet Man Richard Kiel could be the nicest Guy in the World
Remarkable how memorable he made Jaws as a character, given that he was only in two movies - not sure that could be done in the same way today.
Legend. RIP Richard.
Very interesting, thank you.
I've always heard he was a very nice man.
Interviewer seems a tad self conscious and uncomfortable, but at least he doesn’t interrupt.
Kiel was great in “The Longest Yard.”
And very interesting about Clay of Kentucky.
Great interview! I noticed the interviewer's uneasiness as well. Perhaps because of time constraints? Regardless, he did let Mr. Kiel speak and it was very informative. I think I'll look into the book on Cassius Clay.
I really enjoyed him in the Bond movies. He was also an interesting character in Force 10 from Navarone, where he also worked with Barbara Bach 👍
🔹️ALL these really tall actors such as Fred Gwynne, Richard Keil, Ted Cassidy & Jack O'Halloran all had much higher intelligence & a range of skills & talents other than just acting. It is amazing that so many of them were typecast. Richard Kiel had to fight in many cases for diversity in the roles he played on screen -- & I do believe his diverse filmography reflects all the effort he put into his work.
I will never forget Richard in The Longest Yard.
I'm really glad I came across this!!
Met him, the man was funny and cool. I just broke up when he passed.
Sometimes in real life, the so called "nice guys" are really not the nicest.
Sometimes the guys who play the meanest, and most intimidating people are really nice.
Point is, don't judge a book by its cover
@Mikkel Grabinski I'm pretty sure he's just referring to his role as the villain Jaws in the James Bond films
@Mikkel Grabinski "sometimes the guys who play the meanest and most intimidating people are really nice" i.e. Kiel plays an intimidating character as Jaws but is actually a super nice guy in real life. Man I think you seriously need anger management therapy
The comment about Moonraker being a more comedic role. I have to say that Jaws gave me nightmares following that movie. I lived very close to Stansted Airport which was not the big terminal it is now, there were only small planes taking off from what is now the North Terminal and every time a plane took off I thought Jaws was going to parachute out and come and get me. Incidentally the Rio Carnival scene with Jaws walking down the ally is pretty terrifying to a 6 year old! I saw TSWLM soon afterwards on tv and the Fekesh death scene added to my nightmares as in them I was being chased by Jaws and there was nowhere I could get to safety. I had occasional Jaws dreams all the way up until Richard’s passing and I’ve never had one since. Further more there was a Shredded Wheat tv advert with Richard eating cutlery and that made me feel that Jaws was real and that Richard really had steel teeth!
Wow, this is incredible. This used to happen to me as well, Jaws dreams of him stalking me hunting me down. Was terrifying in my dreams! The parachute dream, the following in the streets dream, the same! The carnival street scene in Moonraker, terrifying when I 7yrs old! Your post could’ve been me writing it. Don’t get the Jaws ones now is more the Hulk (TV 70s version) stalking me and being around every corner I turn and I can’t get away! Horrible! But I love the Hulk and Jaws! So strange!
He wanted to be a lawyer as a young man
Rest for this actor
Was the interviewer, Roger Moore's PA?
No, Sir Roger’s PA was Gareth Owen.
20:28 "...But i don't have to marry somebody's ugly daughter, I'm Sorry..." Gosh i almost pissed myself... and did some abbs workwout on that punch line..
What a start !
damn this was one year before his death how terrible
When was this interview taken?
November 15th, 2013
A time when James Bond was worth watching, today it's gone Woke.
They killed him in no time to die
But would u rather James Bond live to see the day they turn him 🏳️🌈
Bc they wanted to
But got such backlash
I wish parents and other adults were as passionate about the children as they were for James Bond we could stop this child abuse by these predators
Dolly had braces.
In the next bond movie there's the scariest bond villain of all time. His name is Jews. He kills people with space lasers
he is missec
