Fernspäher is an old term for elite reconnaissance troopers, relating to the word fern (long range, distance) and the word Späher (scout). Thus, the Fernspäher are specially trained and equipped reconnaissance soldiers who cover great distances to gather intelligence and fulfill military tasks of high importance.

auf stube: in the barracks ---> in german the room you are assignet to in your barracks with your bed etc is called stube. stube is a slightly ouf of date word for the living room in an appartment or house.
the youtube channel "auf stube" is a special project by the bundeswehr to appeal to younger audiences for increased recruitment. this is very controversial in germany, as the bundeswehr is present at job orientation for school kids too, where they not really belong. especcially because they produce recruitment videos in a way, that portrays the work as soldier as a fun and cool adventure and tend to omit the reality in almost all of their material etc.
fernspäher ( long range recon) are the special reconnaisance units (part of the sof) of the bundeswehr. (he is wearing a mask during interview, as certain units like the KSK and Fernspäher are subjected to identity protection. these units are relatively small and if their identity is leaked their families may be threated by terrorists or enemy infiltrators)
the night vision goggles you saw are the lucie night vision goggles. standart in the german armed forces.
but there is a program called "soldat der zukunft" soldier of the future, wich includes ai supportet night vision, battlefield management systems on person etc. and some parts of the programm are already in troop trials.
the subtitles are horrible.... she introduces herself as Jule, an abreviation of Julia and its translated into i am a jew......
fernspäher is translated as television etc

Our mission was to sweep the area for any signs of enemy forces (displayed by Fernspäh trainees). After three days we only found one hidden in a 2m deep hole. The rest we never managed to spot. That was, in the late 90s (before the commissioning of the KSK), and we had a lot of good training with them. And the barracks in Pfullendorf hosted a lot of NATO special forces for training purpose. Those are Fernspaeher what would be remote recon. When they formed the commando forces, they Fernspaeher treained them. They are pretty much the most elite forces of the Bundeswehr and had been recognized for what they do by other countries. They would typically infiltrate deep into enemy territory and observe high value targets (and very rarely eliminate them). But they would have to glide with a parachute and then march for days to find a hiding point. They have to carry a lot of equipment (as they need a lot of recon devices plus what they need to live in a hideout for weeks and they have to transport it all by foot).

In the German Bundeswehr, LRRP is called Fernspäher (long-range scouts). Historically, the German Fernspäher units were modelled after the Finnish long-range patrols and derived from the existing elite units of Gebirgsjäger (mountain troops) and Fallschirmjäger (airborne troops). Originally, there were three companies of Fernspäher in the Bundeswehr, one being assigned to each corps. Since the reformation of German Special Forces in 1996, the Fernspählehrkompanie 200 (FSLK200) is the single remaining Fernspäher unit. The Fernspähers are part of the Special Operations Division. FSLK200 is the only German special force-type unit which has also recruited women.[3] Details about operations of the FSLK200 are secret but it is known that Fernspäher carried out missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the Kosovo War and later during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Fernspäher could be compared to Force Recon Marines of the US. They're part of the DSO (Division für spezielle Operationen / Division for special operations). The idea is to gather intel while not being detected. But they can do other specops stuff like sabotage and exfil too, if they have to. The squads are basically going by the same design as any commando team would, plus a little extra since their original role is strictly recon.

I like your reaction videos about the German Army. Pretty cool to see, what soldiers of different countries think about us ;)
    Two points:
    - YT-auto-translate really sucks :D
    - She should know some things about the military as she is the German Navy equivalent of a CPO (difficult word for English speakers: "Hauptbootsmann" :D ) in the US Navy ;)

stube is an alb word for your room and is only used in the military, another version is the gute stube (good room) that's the living room. But again it is an old word, rarely used anymore.

The "Fernspäher" which you pronounced as good as you can an english speaker expect to do is indeed reconnaince. I think the best comparisation in the US forces I know of would be the Long Range Reconaicance Pratol Units during Vietnam. The job of "Fernspäher" is basiclly to infiltrate behind enemy lines. Watch for troop movements, supply lines and bases and so on. Basiclly gathering information what is going on far in front of the own troops.
