I've played this game nearly every day for the past 10 years. Will I gain anything from this video? Probably not. Will I drop everything to immediately watch it? Yes
"I spend my life, basically playing Football Manager" Oh man, this statement slammed me hard in the face cause I realized how much true it is for me too. I have a classic job and I do the same.
Some video ideas: (videas?) -Do a play-along save. Basically you set up a save, with a team, leagues loaded, all the settings etc for a starter save, upload the file to steam, and we can play along and compare our results to yours at the end of the season. It would be interesting to see how different the season can go from the same start. -Retrospectives of old football manager games, of course start with championship manager, but also check out LMA manager, player manager, ultimate soccer manager, fifa manager, premier manager etc. Some of those games were so much better than championship manager, I often wonder how amazing they'd be if they'd carried on making them. At the time some of their graphics were comparable to the FIFA and PES games of the same year. Imagine an FM with FIFA level graphics!
As a guy from Croatia, i really wanted to learn FM. After 2 years i pick up on the game(FM21) and, better for me,Zealand begins with Croatian club. Also i got a game on a random giveaway and i never actually played it. Great videos btw.
I only play the Hong Kong league these days. I lived in Yuen Long for a few years and actually trained with some of the players back in the day. I live in Wales now and walk round with my Yuen Long football top on and I feel like I may be the only person in the UK that has a Yuen Long football strip.
Thank you Wizard of Z, you are the best. The one lucky thing that happened to me because if the pandemic is that I've had the time to listen to your videos. The more I learn about Football Manager, the more I enjoy it.
Is it really Zealand in this video and not an alien/cyborg who replaced him ? When recommanding a good team in a bad league he didn't say to start in Wales, an investigation must be launched based on that premise.
I'm so happy I found this video. I started my first ever game aaaand then hit a brick wall. Thanks so much for holding my hand thought that first initial set up - it helped me immensely
Used to play Championship manager many moons ago, but as it has got more and more complicated I have drifted away from playing it. Now looking to actually take time and learn again and this will no doubt be a great help.
been watching your videos for some time now finally decided to buy fm 21 kind of nervous and excited to start up my first save. thanks for the help can't wait to see where this game takes me
huge fan, if you can't do a play through on youtube, could you possibly upload highlights of your livestreams instead of vods? That would rack up a lot of views and we would love to watch it
how long do you think the highlights should be? Hard to edit 5 hours of video into highlights, that's a lot of work. There will be a clip channel coming, but I doubt that's what you mean.
Your videos are the opposite of how my football manager saves go, they're free flowing, easy to understand and don't make me want to throw my mouse out the window after 4 matches with consecutive red cards and penalties
Loving this video series. Hoping you would be interested in a video or series about online play? Items like how to create a server (port forwarding etc), leagues options such as can leagues have both friends and general players in it? How to do that. When. Do players need to set aside time and for what? (I’ve heard wed sat?). What should be done outside of those nights. Can online leagues run for multiple years/Seasons, etc. I’ve done a fair amount of searching and don’t believe this type of video or video series exists
5:05 true, I manage my national team which is Indonesia and I managed to qualify for the world cup in the last match of qualifiers. I can't be any happier ;)
Looks like this will be perfect for new players mate! I am going to recommend this to a few friends who want to play FM as well as FIFA. I have warned them they they will get addicted haha
Love your vids, I recommend low pc/laptop go for low data coz every year new players generate. One save I started with 18,000 8 years later ended up with 180,000 I was like wow haha
I luved the times when Fifa had its own football manager game. You could combine the two and have a nice manager game with state of the art fifa gameplay for the matches. I think "Anstoss" did the same, but "Anstoss Action" was not on the level of a Fifa. Thanks for mentioning that the game is about the story. I play games like that for the story too and I thought I was some lonely weirdo and everyone else just luvs the raw challenge.
FM is a real time strategy, turn based strategy, economic strategy, building tycoon, social game, action, role play game, puzzle and Random Number Generator. D`oh! I forget to say. And football.
im just picking up fm22 on sale before fm 23 comes out, and im going to be applying the advice in these video to my playthough as Rangers FC in Scotland i grew up around the Celtic Vs. Rangers atmosphere so it will be fun to pick a team i know and see where it takes me, i know scotland is by far not the best nation for football talent but we love the game just as much as england do so im hoping it will be a fantastic place to start
i bought the game a few days ago, i am still trying to play the game, my head hurts just by starting the game, so many informations, i never seen a game so hard to learn
Not a beginner but I’m still going to watch might learn something new...side note on stream you said you were going to change the flags, being Irish ☘️ can’t say I’m to happy, let’s compromise, you can turn it around and call it an Ivory Coast flag. But we will know😉.
I've played football management games for years casually, but for the first time I'm really getting into a save and learning a lot from this channel. If like me you really want the training wheels on for your first attempt buy the in-game editor. It's well worth it when your scumbag of a chairman lets your teams rivals buy your wonderkid for half his value. Simply use the editor to bring him back to the club for a £1 transfer fee, then release their best player on a free as revenge. Yes it's cheating, yes it's petty, but it's a lot more fun! Plus you can run some experiments in the background which don't directly affect your save, but give some added interest to the game.
Picked Red Star Belgrade. Its not my first time playing FM but the last time was over 5 years ago and I only played for a week or so. Let’s see how it goes.
I have absolutely no clue how football works, but I do look for a manager game. It's gonna be football manager, as I found nothing else that has remotely as good of a "support group" as this one. Wish me luck - boy oh boy.

"most of the game is in Europe" Me who always plays on Colombia: am I a joke to you?
Zealand just finished a save in Colombia on FM20. The info on save starts at 12:10 and was a super fun to watch! Long live Zealando www.twitch.tv/videos/794996867?filter=all&sort=time
I have a question So recently this kid from Dortmund turned 16 and the Bundesliga basically changed the rules of having to be 17 in order for you team to be registered, for him. My question is, did Dortmund register him before hand while he was 15? Because he made his debut like a day after turning 16 and FM doesn’t allow us to be register after the window for that has passed. 🤔 So it’s a thing anybody can be registered at any time? And if yes, why FM doesn’t allow us to do that?
When you realize Zealands's videos are "Edutainment" and wonder if you can somehow convince your principal to let you play them for students at the end of the semester. lol
i've been playing football manager without an audience all the time, my team is at the top and my stadium is filled with statistics.. do i have to change the graphics settings?
If I send a scout manager on a country that I haven't check on the very beginning (before you choose your team) as playable or even as "view only" ,is it useless? Or is it useful? Thanks in advance.
Since you cannot move a save from one FM version to another, how do you play to keep a “long” save? Or can you just expect to maybe get 3-5 seasons in before a new version is released and then start over?
Here people struggle with different stuff irl. And i struggle with bedtime, due too not wanting to stop playing fm. Is it worth stopping, getting enough sleep to function properly at work in the morning. 31 years and i life is fm, work, sleep, eat. In that order.
I've played this game nearly every day for the past 10 years. Will I gain anything from this video? Probably not. Will I drop everything to immediately watch it? Yes
hey man do I need to buy in-game editor for playing the game fully? Is it essential !!

Been playing for about 17 years now and still feeling the need to watch this video..
That Moracco jersey is triggering me because they are literally one of only two jobs I've ever been fired from in FM
As a guy from Croatia, i really wanted to learn FM. After 2 years i pick up on the game(FM21) and, better for me,Zealand begins with Croatian club. Also i got a game on a random giveaway and i never actually played it.

I definitely needed this video to stop me from just quick starting.

It's brilliant that you picked a team where the manager was sentenced to 4 years in prison. It's like you were his natural successor.
