Bee Man Vs Bee Tree

  • ASAP Tree Company called me out to assist them with their tree removal project. They had already removed two other water oaks & the 3rd one had a decent sized beehive in it.
This was a good group of guys to work with & for the most part things went as planned.
The idea was for the tree company to lower the limb the bees were in to the ground & get it out of the way so they could remove the rest of the tree.
I would do my part after that which involved using a chainsaw & pry bar to open the limb & access, then remove the honey bee colony & transfer them into my domestic set up.
Later on you'll see me feeding the colony "fondant" at their new, temporary location.
If you enjoy my content, please consider subscribing to my channel for past & future videos.
    Thanks for watching!

Honey bees usually are docile esp if they can tell you mean no harm. It's africanized bees that have a radius that's smaller & will be more aggressive. But even then as long as you just leave them alone, keep truckin and don't swat, they won't see you as threat

I recently watched this guy in the UK move a swarm of bees into a new beehive box by using a ramp and having the box at the top of the ramp. He demonstrated that bees instinctively always walk uphill. Now he used a towel as the ramp. He knocked off the swam off a bush into a cardboard box. Once back home he setup the towel and dumped the bees onto the ramp towel. The bees then just marched right up that ramp towel and right into their new beehive. He didn't see the queen but after a while he knew she was in the new beehive by the way some bees were fanning their wings at the entrance. It was a wonderful video just like this one. 😄

Not to be rude but you aren’t a young man anymore and I think I’m similar in age to you and I know I sure couldn’t get down on the ground and up and down and up again as easily as you can. I’m sure you have to be quite physically fit to do your job and I’m sure people don’t even think of that aspect of the job you do. @@JPthebeeman awe thanks. I’m so glad I sent that, sometimes I wonder if I should bother if anyone will actually read it. I’m so happy you read it and understood the spirit of the message. Too many people today take things and others for granted. When I watch you and see that you are doing it all by yourself I’m always thinking about how your video recording is so different then a lot of the channels, it’s not like you can say okay bees take 2 I didn’t get a good shot of that! Lol! Or maybe you do? Are you the bee whisperer too? Hahaha. I love that you refer to them as your ladies. Bees play such an important role in our lives. Keep up the great content I’ll be watching. 🥰🙏🏻🇨🇦

I don't have any problems with wasps, but bees absolutely freak the ever-livin' F! outa me.
Total Kudos to you, my man!

I love your channel! You’re so sweet to those bees and you seem to really care! Thanks for doing the extra work of filming and editing for us! I know it’s a lot more work than Just rescuing bees!

Hey JP good to see you! Congratulations on finding the Queen on this one - considering everything that was remarkable! Loved the fondant ending and seeing them absolutely jump all over it! Nice video!

First and foremost thank you for what you do for keeping the beat colonies alive!! All of us who like to eat should be thanking you. Please keep educating to e public on our reliance on these little ladies
I am severely allergic to a sting, so your video is kinda like a fascinating horror short for me. It does increase my heart rate when you can hear all of the wings going. You're a brave man thank you.

JP, you are nothing if not a skilled artist with a chainsaw! I always love watching you get to the hive as skillfully and carefully as you always do 🐝

Great job! You are awesome! Save many bees as you can! I was coordinating the beehive saving processes for 4 years on a territory where 2 millions people live (~300 square mile). I'm so proud of all of the beekeepers who I was working with. Unfortunately many of them done with this kind of savings 'cause they are got old and they wouldn't want to climb the ladder or go up to the trees any more. To keep bees is not a hazardous job but to save them, mostly is. Respect!

I would have been stung several million times. Dad and I cut down a bee tree in the 60's a hollow beech. Got a wash tub full of honey. It was Winter, Ontario Canada. You are the Bee Whisperer.

You open up any bees in the middle of winter and they’re gonna be pissy. Even if I crack the lid on mine to peek on a 50 degree day, they have their butts up in the air with stingers out. 😜
