there a filter on a sping that scews off on them old bobcats make go back 4th like in under cab, under seat when u lift up cab ,i had 743 would not go back and front was so i put that on and now works like new guy junked this bobcat was siting 8 yrs ,i got in runing took me 2 days but i drive it of his land he had covered with tarp 8yrs ,got it runing like new
What did you find out about the elbows that had nothing on them. Were they relief fittings that would discharge oil to the sump when the reliefs open? Check your glow plugs. Ether start and glow plugs do not get along very well.
I've got one of these. The Perkins is a reliable very fuel efficient engine. Not powerful. Terrible cold starters. They don't have glow plugs but a terrible manifold heater that rarely works. Just a whisper of Cosby sauce and they take right off. JUST A WHISPER.
You are correct! I had driven it off the trailer though so i made the assumption that it was all mixed. I did not know the water would settle out with heat though
Hey by chance, do you have measurements for the hydro dipstick?? My machine has never had one. And i need one. . Any help would be rad! 5oh9 for96one 8 16
Don't worry buddy the oil filter is probably blocked. Also could be valve stuck. Are the levers moving the valve controls correctly Also might be chain drive gone on one side
The levers seem to work as designed, its currently able to run and drive now since i plugged that hole. It still has low charge pressure, but i think thats the filters. Im going to put some hours on it and then do new fluids and filters.
We thought it would be good to invest in a skid steer for a fmaily friends pole building business… it just cost too dang much to keep up with it. Every use something broke or went out or busted. We decided it was best to just rent one if we really needed it 😂
Currently it wont start! Haha. Waiting for a day i can get it pushed on the trailer and hauled to dads to work on it in the shop. I'll post the video when I do.

Sounds like you got quite a deal there!

From my understanding, they are case drains off the relief valves, however they should have some form of a drain hose on them to prevent aeration.

I believe this one has had enough cosby sauce pumped in it to fire the titanic.
@@KindsKattleRanch 😂😂🤣🤣
I used to work on Perkins many years ago, the ones I remember were 4-108 and they are a bit hard to start. Indirect injected. Is that what you have?
I'm not sure what model it is, ill have to check. Any idea where the numbers would be on the block?
FYI if all the water is on the bottom the Oil will not look milky and longer. If you can heat the oil somehow the water will settle faster.

Oh and water in the oil will cause cavitation
Right off the problem is a Fram filter anywhere near a machine you own.
Gotta use what is available sometimes.
@@KindsKattleRanch tisk tisk smh....
After watching several videos of oil filters getting cut open for comparison of what their made of, WIX filters came out on top.
FRAM SUCKS! 👎
@@KindsKattleRanch True, but swap out that Fram ASAP.

Thanks john!

In some cases this is absolutely the right thing to do. Sometimes the overhead is not worth it.
there 2 filters under cab
Sounds like you got a great deal then! Nice!
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR CHEAP BOBCAT?
Currently it wont start! Haha. Waiting for a day i can get it pushed on the trailer and hauled to dads to work on it in the shop. I'll post the video when I do.
Who standing wind camera on cold night breathing your fogging the camera when you exhale 😅😅😅😅
Trust me, if i could control it, it would be warmer!
Hay bud, to much talk not enough wrenchen makes for boring content.
Thanks for the input! There seems ro be a fine line of what to film and what to cut. Im still learning where that line is. Thanks!
Dude, buy a owners manual to figure-out how to work on the BOBCAT Skidsteer.
Im using the manual in the video....i have a service manual, and a repair manual. What part are you referring to?
