So after watching your review on this unit and finding the US equivalent (the Big Green Complete) I decided I had to have one. Browsed Craigslist (didn't want to pay full price haha) and found one an hour away for $120 USD. Supposedly it had only been used once. Looking at it, I believed her until I turned it on. No spray! Decided to try and fix it myself. Googled around, found that the heating element commonly clogs. Took it apart, sure enough, chock full of what can best be described as gunky gel. My guess is she didn't use real Bissell cleaning formula but something not suitable for the machine. Also discovered the pump was full of the same material. Cleaned them both thoroughly and viola! Worked perfectly! Love the machine! Also managed to score a 1991 Electrolux Prolux upright for $80 USD 20 minutes away from the Bissell lady! My first vintage vac! Got it disassembled and cleaned up. Waiting on new brush roll and other various parts due tomorrow from Amazon.
I've had two of these for professionally valeting car interiors. The only reason I had a second one was that I left the first one in my hot car and the waste tank warped from the heat (my fault) and that I damaged the plug for the solution tube! It's been one of my best purchases and a thoroughly good all rounder.
You know it's funny. I don't have an enthusiasm for vacuums, I don't care much for them beyond whether the ones I have valiantly perform the tasks they're given or not. I came to this channel while looking at a portable washer / spinner for apartment life, which happened to be your review (the long one) of the Good Ideas portable washer. I was cleaning at the time and left autoplay on, and it went through a bunch of these vacuum / cleaner videos, and since then I've watched quite a few of the videos on your channel. There's something about the presentation that makes them really easy to watch. The vintage cleaners amuse me, and you're so thorough on the newer ones too. I wonder if you'll ever do other appliance videos. I get you're a cleaner person, but I'd love to see your review of, for example, the air purifier I'm planning on getting, and other various household things. Perhaps there are other channels that do similarly detailed reviews on other appliances. Thank you for the effort you put into all of these.
Very informative video. I've been looking at the Bissell Carpet Shampooer's for some time now trying to decide the best option for myself. The comments made about them in other UA-cam reviews are often negative, with people complaining that theirs has become clogged after a few uses and thus turned into a throw away item. Is this the case with these kinds of carpet washers? The other thing that I'm concerned about is just how wet the carpet is after washing, the drying suction doesn't seem to be all that good. Could you please comment about these two concerns and maybe recommend a carpet washer that you think really does the best job without breaking down so quickly.
I want to get rid off my super expensive, bulky extractor and get me one of these, do you know how hot it get cause I do auto detailing and I think it would be fairly easier to carry and manage around. Thank you so much and I do own about 4 different vacuums.
I don't this model will last very long as the built in heater can scale up and block the water solution pipes, unless you use distilled water in it. If you can get one in your counrty, I would look at the Numatic George as it will be more reliable.
I feel like a total dork I do professional carpet cleaning but I don't have a corner cleaning tool anything like that I have been thoroughly bested for a short while
Hi, I have purchased it , but wondering is there any Handel head replacement that I can use for car upholstery seats ..the Handel is big[ and hard to get small areas
I am wanting to get an extractor fairly soon. Looking at George. However this having the heater, and scrubbing brushes on the attachments is making me rethink. You mentioned the water being hot, for those with spray glued carpets would that be an issue with repetitive use? Luke warm water I imagine wouldn't cause an issue, but I'm unsure. Which would you recommend the George or this? The handle for the George upholstery looks less bulky, which I like. Going to end up flipping a coin ha!
I went with the George. Used it a lot, and is great for refreshing carpets and doing the car. You can use warm water in the George anyways and as long as you don't let it sit for hours it will stay fairly warm. So i recommend the George. I have not tried another one yet. I haven't needed to! :)
Great review and top-notch video presentation! I have a Bissell Pro Clean 2x. Being an upright, it's difficult to maneuver (and VERY heavy). I was thinking this model would be a better choice. But you mentioned (near the end of your video) that you found it difficult to handle. Can you compare the two? Thank you!
+johncp1962 It is very heavy, takes up a lot of storage space and is hard work to use. All the Bissell upright carpet washers have been easier to handle than this one.
Hey Roger, great video the Bissell certainly does what it says on the tin. You ever need somewhere else to do you're demo's then feel free to call over to mine lol Hope you have had a good weekend
Fill the clean water tank with the clean solution first, then fill is slowly with hot water, like you would fill a beer mug, to not get suds. That will mix it properly
Hi Roger, Have you ever tried a Bissell Big Green? I hear on the grapevine that they are a much better tool than The Rug Doctor ( The one so beloved as a hire machine by DIY stores, garden centres etc)
I just got the Big Green Complete in the US, and it seems to essentially be this same machine as the Hydroclean being demonstrated here. All the features and brush heads look the same. It almost looks like it's just got a different name stamped on it, and a different cord/plug for our style of grounded plugs.
I have had an upright Bissel deap cleaner before. For my needs I didn;t think it was very good compared to the Vax cylinder I had in the mid 1990s which was a great orginary vacuum cleaner. It was marvelous when it came to dealing with vomit when one didn;t make the dash to the loo. It was marvelous for the really nasty stuff as well like washing machine leak. The Vax we had for 5 years. The bissel only worked properly for 2. Although the pump on the vax wasn;t very good after a while. This is why I think the best machine for me would be a George. Also because when I buy these things other's want it used in their houses. That was the inherent flaw with the upright vs cylinder machine for me. A Cylinder I can put in my car easily.
***** The Numatic George is certainly more robust than this Bissell and I expect it to last longer, but the current Vax multifunction vacuum cleaner is not as well made as the British built ones we had in the past. For carpet cleaning, these multifunction cleaners are not as convenient to use as a good upright carpet washer.
it looks quite lite to me compared to the George. George is probably my favorite of this type of machine the one I would be because I believe George is probably the best build quality. My gut feeling is that that machine the Bissel hyroclean is probably completely useless as a vacuum cleaner. However I would think it is easy to carry upstairs and clean the nasty stuff like Kid's vomit of bedroom or landing carpet when they have not succesfully made the dash to the loo. I would think it would be better to have a conventional vacuum cleaner for general vacuuming. That one exclusively for one purpose. EG cleaning up puke or dog piss.
***** It is heavier than the George and more awkward to carry. For accidental spills, Bissell make a small hand held unit for that purpose. I have one to clean up the odd messes the dogs make.
rock &'roll gary glitter there are probably lifts and elevators to assist with the Kirby S. I would love to see ibasiac test one. A friend of mine who used to repair them whose now my local councillor, told me to avoid them. He said he used to repair so many fans on them he paid for several holidays. Another local councillor in my area spent £1000 on a Kirby on the premise he'd watched a demonstration by a lovely lady. While he lived in Birmingham single 21 prior to meeting wife. Funnily enough their current vac is a £100 British numatic henry. When I worked in Hotels the Vacuums were either Sebo or numatic Henrys.
since the late 1980s they've done clean bagged uprights, the Electrolux 502 and the sebos were the first I think. having suction through the bag like a cylinder but the upright belts. The Electrolus 500 series were in the 70s of course. James dyson found the weekness was the bags so he designed something frankly even worst.
What's the difference between this type with the Bissell proheat 2x carpet cleaner? Which one in your opinion is better to have if u only want to have 1 item? Or with this one. ua-cam.com/video/F3ETasspVh4/v-deo.html

I wonder how this compares to the bissell spot clean pro. The spot clean is pretty much a staple tool for car detailing.

Can I put kettle water instead? Of course after boiling it and letting it get lower than 100 degrees...????
I prefer my revolution upright cleaner , and its thanks to you and others who review these machines that gave me the decision to buy one . Thank you
Very nice video.. You are great.. Keep it up... I love all over from Egypt 🇪🇬

Is this type of vaccum still able to purchased today, say at like Walmart or Home Depot?
That was the part of your review I was looking for. Thanks!!
i have grown to like this vacuum great video
olli vac guy I have grown to like it since using it more, but it is still a huge, heavy beast and not very convenient to use.
thats the reason i wouldn't buy one the weight would drive me over the edge
Lovely informative vid. ThanQ :)
what was the price for it
Thank you for this video. I am sold on buying this now.
Your videos are soooooo good! Keep it up!
Can I clean Marble floors also with this. Or it is just Good for carpeted areas??
I like that Bissell Hydroclean Complete Carpet & Hard Floors
IM BEGGING YOU because i used my vacuum for this (with my shop vac) but i dont have that attachment and itll be a game changer

I found Bissel 1747E the same like this hydroclean but the difference is it heats by wave heating
Is this machine is good as a wet & dry vacuum
kindly do a comparison video of karcher 6.100 with this machine.
Can you use it without the pole ? Or do you need the pole ?
What is the point of drenching the rug with shampoo solution only for it to be left to dry in the rug??
It is a strangely wonderful thing to watch a man vacuum his sink. :)
You should see me vacuum my bath.

Does that nozzle fit the pet pro by any chance? It looks very similar.
Would you use it the exact same way on a mattress?
Hi. I have one of these units and the spray will not function. Do you have a trouble shooting guide to fix it?
Such an honest review!
Hi, I have purchased it , but wondering is there any Handel head replacement that I can use for car upholstery seats ..the Handel is big[ and hard to get small areas
What if its not spraying? Also what if the floater is missing for the clean tank?
thank u roger from saudi arabia

Fill with warm water and when you turn on the heater the water should start to heat up

for upholstery, does it perform better than the Numatic George?
Hey Roger, great video the Bissell certainly does what it says on the tin. You ever need somewhere else to do you're demo's then feel free to call over to mine lol
Hope you have had a good weekend
Left button (Heater)
Central button (Main on/off switch)
Right button (Wet clean)
If l use it for wet clean should I fill the dirty water tank also with water as I do for dry cleaning?
No, you don’t need to put water in the tank for wet cleaning. Just make sure you turn the dial to wet clean mode.
@@ibaisaic thank you so much
How long would you say it takes the floor to dry after use? I really want to shampoo my carpets but need to work around people being home and active.
same question
how does this perform compared to the big green? nvm looks like the big green takes the cake
Why were these discontinued ?
Fill the clean water tank with the clean solution first, then fill is slowly with hot water, like you would fill a beer mug, to not get suds.
That will mix it properly
Could you do a video going over the manual method? There's a brief demo at 9:14
Seems to work well on dry and wet and carpet cleaning ect id consider it interesting .
Great video,
What had a longer shampoo hose:
The Bissell Hydro Clean
Numatic George
Does anyone know if the bissell spotclean pro's hose wilm fit on the proheat?
can someone please shoot me a link for that suction attachment hes using i looked for 2 hrs and can not find it
Where can I buy 1 at?
Hi Roger, Have you ever tried a Bissell Big Green? I hear on the grapevine that they are a much better tool than The Rug Doctor ( The one so beloved as a hire machine by DIY stores, garden centres etc)
+Mackeson3 I would lie to try one but they are a bit too expensive and seem rather large for my home.
ibaisaic I hear the Hoover power scrub is pretty good.

Dear roger do you have any voltas?

Самый лучший пылесос рекомендую! Я им даже стяжку пылесосил, дума лучше пылесоса не найти
You know that foam filter has nothing to do with the motor. It's joined to where the hose connects...
I can't find this anywhere
It has been discontinued for a while but sometimes they pop up on eBay. It may have a different name such as Bissell Allrounder.

I need the part which clean the carpet can you help me
You will have to do an internet search to see if you can get any parts in your country. If Bissell have a website where you are, try that first.
@@ibaisaic thanks,l already ask bissell but tell me,...... this modle is very old and they very happy becouse I stell have it😅😅
my hydroclean wont collect water when im cleaning my carpet can anyone help me try and fix it thank you
The water should heat up to 60 degrees not 95 degrees just 60 degrees
