This is a similar melody to homeland which is also by Gustav Holst. I'm referring to the arrangement by Randall Stroop. The soprano and altos in this one choir that my choir does concerts with sang Homeland with an arrangement with a small orchestra, and its one of the most beautiful things I heard in my life.
Well... My teacher tried to convince some people to play tenor instead (at least when I was signing up) but, obviously that didn’t work. I did volunteer to do Bari as well for 2 years though.
in our band we are doing this song, i was the only one who knew the flute notes (i play the flute) so everybody was asking me what the notes were. plus i had to tell somebody what the melody was and they have been playing for 7 more years then i have. lol
It is easy for my band. We ALL know the lyrics. This is from All of us Are One, a Wesley College song. We know the melody the moment we play the first few bars. :)
Louie Zhao lyrics?.... There is no lyrics its a classical piece and people just randomly add lyrics to make it worse... Sorry if I had offended you but.. No lyrics
zzsings it's not that, to be fair a lot of symphonies don't just 'flow' into the next movement, there is often in older music pauses between movements. For me it's the fact they've changed the really iconic cadence harmonically.
We heard this at the John McCain funeral, couldn't remember what piece it was. Then i realized my daughters played it at their spring concert 2 years ago. It's very beautiful
3 years in band we played this for the seniors as they walked out of the hall at the end of graduation. I will never play this in that band again. 7 months until I graduate to this and it's already hitting me.
Happy graduation. I hope it was everything you hoped it would be. There's a time for everything, and I think the secret is to really wring all you can out of each moment. One of my favorite poems: “Exhaust the little moment. Soon it dies. And be it gash or gold it will not come Again in this identical disguise.” ― Gwendolyn Brooks
Mr. Harvey, one of the best band directors in human existence, brought me here. He had us listen to this video as an assignment because we’re playing this song for our fall concert.
This is by far, the best music piece ever created. I am in 7th grade and am going to play this in Downey Park in the summer with my school band! I’m so excited! I play the clarinet.
I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice. And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.
Their doing Jupiter next year for marching band and since we don't have any more performances we're learning next year's marching band music (I'm a senior so I'm learning it but I'll never perform it) And I heard this melody in our music and I recognized it but I couldn't remember from where And we did it in middle school! I thought I was going crazy for knowing it
Just came from school, and this was the last song we played together after years, and now we're all separating. I'm happy I got to spend time with my friends, I will forget them, sadly. Though we've been through fights (not physical) I will, no doubt, miss them. Go Black Cats 🥲

My teachers having us play this for my friends graduation I'm clairnet!!!!
@@mrxdra.lanii0 have fun playing it. I was on trombone or baritone!

just graduated high school, off to army tomr this brings sm good memories. never regretting being a band kid
@@Big_E6969😊
I played this at school it was the best
Having ~20 alto saxs every year makes the band screech of 7th graders “not practicing”.
Then put them on other instruments duhhh
Well... My teacher tried to convince some people to play tenor instead (at least when I was signing up) but, obviously that didn’t work. I did volunteer to do Bari as well for 2 years though.
I love Jupiter 😊

LOL WTF THE NOTES ARE SO EASY
I guess your band is doomed then say bye bye
I also play the flute and am playing this in band lol
I am so looking forward to playing this 5 tines in a row for a homecoming event at high school😅
I'm not looking forward for that
The original band arrangement of this piece is only low brass and woodwind + clarinet playing for like 23 bars, everyone sits there counting....
+lovemusic12121 im a clarinetist :3
must not be the original, because in the original everyone plays.
The original arrangement is not a band arrangement...
The original had strings. This has no strings. Don't expect the original.
Tiffany Xian there are no original "band" piece for this...
It is easy for my band. We ALL know the lyrics. This is from All of us Are One, a Wesley College song. We know the melody the moment we play the first few bars. :)

No lyrics
You know nothing it has no lyrics its from the planets and lasty its calked measures
freshfish gaming some countries actually call them bars
Measures are the entire row of music... Bars are the 4 beats (depending on time signature) Where there are 4 quarter notes in a *bar*.
This is the best piece I have ever played in band, no dought
I agree but you spelled doubt wrong so hahahahhahahaahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha
TGM522 _ why?
No doubt
Wesley says you probably have a terrible babe program
I'm playing this for mine lol
You can't change the last chord to make it a perfect cadence! It's supposed to sound unfinished 😂😂😂
George West is right its a symphony it goes to the next piece
zzsings it's not that, to be fair a lot of symphonies don't just 'flow' into the next movement, there is often in older music pauses between movements. For me it's the fact they've changed the really iconic cadence harmonically.
well guess what ive listend to the real symphony in person so i think i know how the piece sounds
Cuberger hey you wanna call me stupid look in a mirror
Cuberger so how about you shut up and stop commenting stupid stuff
I saw jupiter on my friends trumpet because that's the brand
And then I got this stuck in my head
We heard this at the John McCain funeral, couldn't remember what piece it was. Then i realized my daughters played it at their spring concert 2 years ago. It's very beautiful

One more month, wishing you luck man!
Happy graduation. I hope it was everything you hoped it would be. There's a time for everything, and I think the secret is to really wring all you can out of each moment.

Happy Graduation! You deserve that and more, hoping you get the best of this new chapter, goodluck!
First year of band we played this, now I'm at all state level
I played this piece in band! I used to be so good at the flute. I wish to get better at it again sometime.
Mr. Harvey, one of the best band directors in human existence, brought me here. He had us listen to this video as an assignment because we’re playing this song for our fall concert.
my daughter is playing this in band
Paul Murtha arranges everything lmao, i love this song so much
I remember playing this in Middle School and High School...
How I miss those fun days, even tho the music teacher in HS was such a bitch lmaoo
Please upload more videos
Last seen 3 years ago 🥺
this was my parents wedding song. I must have inherited love for this song from them.
This is by far, the best music piece ever created. I am in 7th grade and am going to play this in Downey Park in the summer with my school band! I’m so excited! I play the clarinet.
Clarinet gang!

Incorrect, this is the chorale from jupiter not county vowing thee
@@sundaydriver-d9o It is the same melody
Lit song
my friend is in band and learning this and he hates is, because it's slow
Haha...poor guy.
i love it because its slow and relaxing
I love songs that are challenging and require practice. Cuz I have lots of time on my hands lmao.
I love the song. It actually gives me Jupiter vibes. Idc if it’s slow, I just like that it sounds pretty.
I love this song!!!
a little TOO easy, why is ther not a full piece from hal leonard
its grade 1.5 (^_^)
Try Hal Leonard marching band instead or just look up the full suite
This is meant for beginners
This song is a solo Im doing for a concert in 2 weeks. Such a good song.
Played the OG in youth symphony as a second oboe. This is still my favorite piece
why couldn’t my beginning band be this cool :c
I did this with a MS band I taught several years ago.
yo can you hook me up with what instruments are in this band
Too fast and it shouldn't end with the I chord.
i played this on piano!
Never fails to mesmerize me. 😇
Its better with an orchestra

Why can't I hear quads in this??? I am desperately trying to figure out how to play my part and I can't find anyone playing it pls help
Check out Addy Ramirez youtube page and her middle school band plays it
playing this for band, really amazing piece and inspires me
Such a simple but pretty piece
The true and better piece is not simple. This arraignment is terrible
Favourite band piece to play so far, other than maybe Northridge overture!
mr sawyer put us on ong
I love this song one of my fav in school
Pog
wtf are those ridiculus ringing bells??
