I know many of you are waiting for updates on when Japan will allow foreign visitors, as of now the word is Japan will open back up to tourists in April 2021. It's not confirmed but it's sounding likely 🙏❤️
Thanks for always making awesome videos! You and Chris (from abroad in Japan) inspired me to start learning Japanese and do some research about possibly teaching English in Japan.
Great video what a beautiful country ❤️
It looks like it's true but you will need to get tested for Covid before you go and show them upon arrival and then get tested a again when you get there ? Basically a lot of testing.
My and friends and I have been wanting to travel to Japan for so long! We were hoping within a year or two it will be possible. ❤ I definitely have some ideas of what to do when we go by watching your videos.
Reminds me of the gondola on the Grouse Grind.
Quinlan speaks and carries himself like a university professor. I like how he has taken his love and appreciation for Japan to a whole new level. I hope to meet him someday.
He totally does!! I loved hearing him talk about Japanese history.
Dude. Imagen having him as your professor! For once I would honestly pay attention🤓
PirateQueen D You should do the research yourself, lol. School forcing you to do things is never fun or interesting.
@@aus-li I am 28 years old and not going to school anymore. But my ADHD and dyslexia made it really hard to stay focused. Sooo just saying with him as a professor it would have been way more intresting.
PirateQueen D I see!
However, you’re never too old to read things on the internet. And if you want something more immersive, you could always watch documentaries :)
I absolutely love that Japan respects nature by making paths out of wood and rocks rather than blacktop or concrete. Looks like an incredible time.
Isn't that normal in the mountains? I'm German and in Europe pretty much all mountain hiking paths are wood/stone/earth :-)
Unfortunately, I've seen it made out of concrete a lot in Japan as well, so it's not always like in this video.
What’s blacktop? Is it tarmac?
I'm Japanese, now I've stayed in Australia. I've been studying English with your UA-cam. Your videos are so fun! I just wanted to tell you that.
Quinlan's channel is really underrated imo.
Agreed!!
Thumbs up for the drone shots.
Quinlan is like a professional tour guide and I feel like I need him with me everywhere in Japan...
So nice and beautiful...
I'm Japanese, but most people never have the chance to visit these areas in Japan!
I'm very glad you made this video, it's beautiful!
Thank you Shogo! :)
As one of millions of people who've travel plans have been devastated this year, I love these kinda videos! Hiking fall colors makes you forget about stuff for a little bit, thank you!
I loved this so much, Sharla! Not only are you so fun to watch, but you surround yourself with such cool people, as well. Great job :)
Aww❤️ Have to agree with you, all my friends are pretty great☺️
Me: “I’d love to go hiking in Japan”
Quinlan *takes out bear spray*
Me: ........”I’ll just stay indoors playing Animal Crossing”
Most of the time if you carry a bell on your backpack and avoid bringing food on yourself for overnight stays you'll be fine hiking in Japan :) the same usually applies to any other hiking trail with bear sightings
ha, my partner heard that pat of the video and I think the bears are the selling point that might actually get him there someday!
Some of those drone shots were breathtaking.
Quinlan and Sharla are such a vibe, the most calming presence ever! Lol
The drone takes from 14:19 to like 14:30 are so good. I don't ever go hiking but that's a sight to see.
Nami Ami those were so unreal such a cool angle too see them at
@@QueenToken right?? seeing them walking from that angle just felt like you were really going on adventure. very immerse feeling!
Thank you for being you Sharla. :) Your content and energy are soothing for the soul. 🙏
Aww thanks for the kind words☺️❤️
Quinlan is like an American (?) Ryotaro...the way he talks and explains things reminds me so much of him haha
A cruel angel's thesis at the convenience store, cool.
They’re celebrating Evangelion’s 25th anniversary so you hear it a lot recently!
Evangelion was a good anime. Highly recommend (sub over dub, unless you like Asuka).
@@sharlainjapan wait its Evangelion’s 25th anniversary I remember watching it as a child man I feel old now lol
One of the best anime of all time imo
You guys have a great UA-cam dynamic!!! More than just Quinlan explaining things directly to viewers, it feels like the viewers can discover new things in Sharla’s shoes as he explains things to her. God I miss Japan!!! You’re both doing great marketing for northern japan 😹😹💯
I love when you have this guy in your episodes. He seems like a cool fella.
He is! I’m always amazed at how knowledgeable he is about Japan :D
Nice job! Beautiful KouYou seasonal colors ...
Your choice of black footwear was a wise one ...
Perfect for those unexpected muddy mishaps ...
I will say the ropeway looks scary when you look down at it from the top!
Beautiful hike and you spoiled us with some awesome drone footage!
This is the first time to make a comment. Thank you for introducing beautiful viewing and their history as well. ( I've never known the history of 八甲田山 and 慰霊の森(森のしずく公園).) I am a Japanese who are living in USA ( I love Canada as well!), because I don't like my country little bit. But thanks to you, gradually I became more attracted both Japanese good nature and culture. I miss Japanese food so much!
Please keep safe and stay warm:)
My boyfriend and I first tried persimmons last year, because in autumn they‘re really cheap in germany and on the other hand, they’re almost nowhere to get in other seasons of the year, and since then he can‘t get enough of them, he's been excited all week, because autumn is here😂
Btw I LOVE your videos and think you’re such a lovely personality! Thanks to you and Chris Broad I started learning japanese 1 1/2 years ago and I'm planning to study abroad in japan as soon as the whole pandemic situation is over! Thank you for so much inspiration and Thank you for sharing your Awesome lifes with the world! ❤️❤️❤️
Quinlan looking like a cross between David Beckham and Bear Grylls. I couldn't help but point it out.
I get some Elijah Mikaelson (from The Originals) vibes because of how he carries himself.
With a pinch of Jason Bateman
Boa viagem vepiy
@@technosteed4644 yes! I'm glad someone said it! Lol just kinda need him to say "mmkay" after every sentence and it'd be like watching Ozark 😁
The real beauty: nature in the background, Sharla in the foreground !
A shout out to Quinlan - so knowledgeable and articulate.
I've got a persimmon in my kitchen I've been hesitant to try - gonna do it tho! Quinlan always has the scoop for the best adventure spots in northern japan 🙏
He really does! So grateful to have him show me the best spots around Morioka😄🙌🏻
I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I wanted to tell you just how much I love your videos. I super enjoy these longer videos following you throughout your day, even when you're simply going shopping and eating. Thank you so much for showing us these gorgeous views! I appreciate you taking us on adventures with you since I am unable to go to Japan myself and this is the next best way to experience it. Also, your videos help me get through some very difficult days and have always made me happy over the years since I first found your channel. I hope to continue watching your content for years to come.
Aw thank you so much for the kind words🥰❤️
Ever since researching Aomori for a story, I completely fell in love with the region.
Such beauty. Thank you to both you Sharla and to Quinlan for sharing this. Such fresh and crisp beauty. Autumn is such a special time. 💖🧼😷🏴👩🏻🦼
I see notifications
It's Sharla
I grab Tea and Good day biscuits
Find the warmest corner in my house and enjoy the video
10/10 how everyone should watch my videos👌🏻
@@sharlainjapan I've been watching your and Chris Broad's video like its a marathon
I'm on top of a ridge on my own lil hike while watching this. Weird how I'm on the other side of the planet yet so much is the same...
@@howHumam man, that's really really cool
Love Quin, he's just a basket of knowledge. Just like a good basket, its filled with cool stuff that doesn't slip out (he doesn't throw it in your face) but at any moment you could put your hand in and bring out some special sauce
The nature in Japan always looks breathtaking through your videos. I'm not an outdoorsy type of person (despite what I dream), but it makes me want to go hiking everytime. On the bench part my first thought was "Mark would love it." 😂 Thank you and Quinlan for the work and time put into this video. 🥰 It really makes me happy since I dream one day to go to Japan. Also, news for Quinlan: I subscribed and your channel is fantastic, thank you! ❤❤
Yay a new Sharla video!!!
Thanks for stopping by! ❤️
"Mark would love it"
Omg Sharla😂😂😂
Ok still a little new to the channel and saw this part too, who’s mark? 😂
David White Haha my other friend who lives in Morioka, he likes benches😂
Sharmeleon ah ok got it that makes a lot more sense now 😂
You and Quinlan together make some of my fave content!
Thank you guys so much for taking me on your autumn mountain tour. I'm having a lot of anxiety about unemployment relief legislation in the US, and this made me relax and I loved all the informative commentary by both of you. A real pleasure.
Beautiful views! Thanks for sharing and much love from Montana. ✨💖✨
Thank you Sharla & Quinlan for filming this hike. Breath taking views. Autumn is my favourite season. Take care & stay safe 😊🍁🍂
Lovely vid. Really enjoyed it. Quinlan seems very knowledgable on the area which was interesting to hear. More like this please when you can 😊
Quinlan is just filled with passion love it
As a person who loves the outdoors and hikes like crazy....that looked like a great day! Hope to see more of this awesomeness and great vid!
I love your videos of northern Japan. When we can finally travel again, it’s on my top list destinations.
Autumn and winter and the two seasons I haven't been in Japan yet. Can't wait for the world to be past the virus, Japan is definitely my 1st destination as soon as it's possible :)
It’s such a different experience in the cooler months! Really recommend it🥰
I walked 8.3km ... in 2019!!!
So....cut that in half and we get 2020 results huh.
@@brianjohnson5786 You've walked in 2020????
@@tccandler lmao actually yeah.... benefits of living in near isolation. But still glad that we can at least put some miles in right? 😄
I walk 6 km daily
2200 km per year
Such a wonderful person to show folks around the Japanese countryside . thanks so much beautiful.
Hello Sharla i come from Lithuania,we have lots of diffrent fruits and veggies, also persimon too..we have lots of restaurants that you or any other foreigner can eat the most tasty cuisine food here,in some big citys you can find japanese cuisine too..also you can visit some citys to take photos, have a descent sleep in expensive hotels and sightseeing too,if you every come here try cuisines try to see as much beautiful places you want..here prices isn't that big like in Japan (the prices are from 50€ to 300€ if you take a bit much expensive hotels you can spend maybe more)but everything here is worth it
The drone shots :O
I have been to japan twice during autumn season! You are right, the weather is perfect and the colours are amazing 😊😊
Can people bring their dogs? This is a dream hike! I’d never seen Quinlan’s videos before. Thanks, my fave new video!
Probably wouldn't be safe if there are bears out there.
I love that you give us so many beautiful videos about Japan's nature and countryside. This was a great video
Quinland always knows his locations lol. Trust the man on that Onigiri
Thanks for filming the countryside while in the car, I always enjoy the Japanese landscape. Nice Shar. . . thanks.
Hiking with Quinlan seems like so much fun
Happy Thanksgiving from your native land! 🍁 🇨🇦
Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🥳
Excellent video , sleek editing and Sharp presentation .
Thank you! ☺️
Look at you gearing up properly for your activities! Amazing video thank you!
The drone shots were nice. Thanks for taking us along your adventure. Until next time, take care, have a good one. Bye
Does anyone else get this super relaxed peaceful vibe when watching Sharla? I found her like 6-7 years ago now ( so much has changed omg) Won't ever not want to watch her and some of the other OG japan UA-camrs
I love the persimmons, too. Love the home dried ones you can buy along the streets from the locals. An overload of sweetness that beats bean paste and mochi any day.
Thank you for describing persimmon :) I've only seen them in a Zatoichi episode and it was very confusing ... I think the unripe ones must be very bitter and unpleasant. Great trail also, that's some beautiful country. Way to power through and thanks for sharing.
I encountered your video through the bizarre power of UA-cam algorithm and I've fallen in love... looks like I'll have to subscribe and start watching your past videos 💖
Aw welcome to my channel!! ☺️❤️
Lovely! Love these adventures
I like Quinlan lol ...he is so passionate
Wow very amazing video. Really enjoyed watching the autumn colors of north Japan
“That was the longest kilometre of my life.”
Quilan’s laughter was 👌
moar Quinlan! love it when he appears in yours and Chris' videos!
Q's channel is amazing! If this kind of video is your jam, you will absolutely not regret subbing to Go North Japan!
Wonderful cinematography, Sharla. That was a very enjoyable video which gave me a few chuckles. Pleased you had your backpack this time:)
I grew up in West Virginia, and those peaks remind me of the Appalachian mountains. Even the windswept trees, like those found in Canaan Valley.
Sharla you look so beautiful ! Loved this video !
Love love love your videos really want to visit can,t wait
So beautiful 😍 I love nature. Japan truly has some of the most best natural sites in the world
Autumn adventure in the Japanese countryside is an excellent idea. Thanks for suggesting it. What has been always surprising to us that "food subject" is almost consistently big hits (getting a lot of review) in your UA-cams and on our facebook posts. Your UA-cam friend (Abroad in Japan) is also successful in getting a lot of hits. One of his post title, "5 Must Try Meat Dishes". Psychologically, when he says "Must Try" means "It almost forces me to think that I must watch this video". I am thinking about using this psychological strategy for our facebook page. Well, we post something, it might as well get a lot of positive responses. Amazing!
My wife and I watch "Sam The Cooking Guy" a lot. He is a no-nonsense chief (straight talking) and so good at making angelic (heavenly expressions), when he bites into his favorite food. That expression is so tantalizing and additive. You have heavenly smiles and just watching you smile and laugh make us feel really good.
This was so lovely and idk how else to put it into words - I wish I could be more like you! You have so many good qualities. I admire your confidence and sense of calm.
P.s. I hope you will do Vlogmas this year :)
Ohh this was so beautiful! Those little explosions of colour everywhere! Well done on getting a backpack 😊. And it's even more fun seeing a Quinlan hike with you in it! Also: since I've watched all of his hiking videos, I'm now all like 'oh, bamboo grass! Gotta watch out for bears! Even before he says it 😆. When I hike my first Japanese mountain I'll be so well prepared!
Great collaboration and beautiful scenery Sharla 👍 Hope to see more soon. Quinlan seems to be a very capable guide.
Awesome video Sharla, I hope to hike there too someday, Quinlan always has good trips in mind.
NGL, I would love to go hiking with Quinlan. Great energy and informative.
It''s nice to hear and see words written and pronounced on Japanese. Watching video and learning , double win win xD
What a great hike! Quinlan looks like a great guide too 😃
ok, DEFINETLY doing this when it's safe to travel again, thank you Sharla for helping me explore new places!
I’ve been watching for SO LONG and I’ve finally had the courage to start my own UA-cam channel !!!! 🥺
Gonna check your channel out, looks good from the page !! Good luck
Wow, what a beautiful hike though 🤗
Autumn in japan looks so pretty! 😍🍁
Ahhh! That look over the edge hit me in the fear of heights!^^ Beautiful countryside though!
Thank you Sharla! This is absolutely beautiful. looks so relaxing
Woah, Quinlan's channel is dope
Great vid!
This looked like such a cool adventure, and those views from your hike, even with the fog, were stunning. Thanks for sharing. :)
So many places I want to visit in Northern Japan. Hokkaido, Sendai, Ishinomaki, and now I have to give Aomori a visit.
I love Fall, I make a mean pumpkin pie
advantures of sharla&quinlan.. NETFLIX needs this!
The fog makes it look so mysterious.
On Monday I would be on my way from Germany to 八戸 for two weeks of enjoying the autumn in Japan. But... 😪
I hope next year I'm able to make it.
Thanks for the Video.
Same here! Except I was supposed to leave today :( hopefully we bought are able to go next year! ✨
The countryside is beautiful
きれいな紅葉
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. 👍😉😊😍
these kinds of videos always make me smile to much. the views are just to good :D
I LOVE Persimmons. Sadly I've not seen any in the UK since march.
evonix4 I’m in the uk and I found them at a local shop I love them so juicy
I often find them on Lidl and Aldi more than anywhere else 😊
The drone shots are so beautiful omg your videos have gotten so stunning Sharla!!
We call Persimmons, Kaki, anyway that’s what my Spanish father always called them. In Holland they’re called Sharon fruit, because they are mostly imported from Israel I guess.
Wow, the scenery was incredible. Excellent work. "We got a long drive ahead of us but we got onigiri" my new favorite quote.
