You kept mentioning hamsters. I'm an avid hamster owner from the US who is really into proper hamster care (huge enclosures, huge wheels, special diets, multiple substrates etc.) I couldn't help but notice what looked like bird stuff next to the stuff you were showing. Can you show pet stores in Japan? Or big pet sections in stores? I'd love to see what pet supplies they offer for hamsters but I'm curious in general what all they have for cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, rabbits etc.
I don't know why I love these videos of you exploring random shops and stores so much but they're SO much fun to watch. You buying the little cat shaped blanket/bed thingy and going "sold!" was honestly me. If it's shaped like a cat, I will buy it 😌 I hope you'll share the Maro balcony build with us too, I'm curious to see what it'll look like!
We just bought a nice bbq grill and patio furniture from Lowe’s and bought a nice ceiling fan and had it installed on the pergola so we can enjoy outside on a hot Summer day.. we always buy our plants and flowers from Lowe’s, our next big project is remodeling our kitchen, Lowe’s has a lot of kitchen displays to get an idea… I love walking around home improvement center’s. 😁
fun fact about witches brooms. as a pagan myself, they are used to "sweep away" negative energy. commonly hung above the front door of the home and used during a home cleansing when you get to the door you can literally "sweep out" the negative energy you cleansed from your home. same with hanging witches bells by your front door. the bells are also used to rid the home of negative energy. :)
It’s amazing to live in a consecrated space. There’s a certain hum in the air and a lack of negative emotions. Things feel conducive to a productive and profound experience of life.
Wow! I didn’t know Japan would sell so many emergency supplies. I’ve never seen a tatami maker before and oh those little wooden shrines! So beautiful!
The story about the cage with dirt kept for a year made me feel better. I always go "man I'm lazy" but I think you might win because I would have totally thrown out the dirt.
I had Walking Sticks as a kid. When they died we just stuck their cage in the garage. Come a year later when we were spring cleaning we found baby Walking Sticks.
That must have blown your mind. Walking sticks are trippy as it is. Seeing something you thought was a stick start moving can really catch you off guard.
Awesome episode! ... I just remembered (for the first time in 40 years or so) that we used to make our own brooms when I helped out on a farm in the late 70s... being able to make brooms that could deal with snow AND cow poop was something like a super-power back then...
"dude, you could sleep in this. who needs a bed?" EXACTLY! Japanese summers in a bed? no thanks. I sodai gomi`d my bed two years ago and switched to a hammock. Haven`t regretted it once.
Those jelly pots can be bought in reptile stores here (UK) as some lizards like to eat them, but they can also be used as food for the bugs that you feed to them. Those round balls are H2O, because you can't give insects pools of water or they will drown.
I love it when you guys hang out. You remind me of siblings/cousins when you bantering back and forth trying to one up each other with cool, funny stories.
This might legitimately be the most interesting video you’ve ever made! I can’t believe how many interesting and different things you can find at a Japanese home store. The entire aisle dedicated to the beetles was blowing my mind! Loved it! Great video!!
It's amazing the different things you can find at that Home Centre. There are a lot of things you wouldn't normally see here in Canada. Thanks for the insight!
Loving this collab! What a fun store ! The little tatami pieces can be used for your dolls etc on display .I’d love to have one of those shrines for my mom.
Japan is my dream country. The temperature, the general discipline of people, being organized, the views. Although I'm sure I cannot be as work dedicated as them, so working in Japan is probably the hurdle I will not be able to overcome. LOL
I didn't think I could have learned so much from watching this video. Jackets with fans!!! The pet bugs!!! I wanted to see so much more of this home store! Can't wait to see your Diy project.
I collected those beetles in the late 1960s when I lived in Japan (Air Force brat) and back then, there was absolutely nothing sold in the stores for the beetles. Then again, Japan didn't have the type of hardware stores they have now. I miss Japan and it is the one place in the world I've always wanted to return to and live. By chance stumbled on to this video and glad I did.
I just had a moment at the end of this video where I was like, "HOW DARE YOU!?! NORM IS A PERFECT ANGEL WHO'D NEVER..." and then I paused my excessive outrage and was like, "Yeah... He'd pro'lly give you bunny ears or hold up something weird that he'd found while you guys were shopping." Thanks for showing us around your home store, Sharla. It was fun to watch you get stoked over all the camping gear. Can't wait to see Morro's new Catio.
Watching this while using Sharla's wishtrend skin care box is peak self care. Also for anyone who debated getting a box for as long as me (years) it is so worth it, I already see a difference in my skin a week later!
I love ❤️ 💕 💗 the good vibes and positivity between you two. Especially about the Japanese cultural differences with the west. Japanese stores are really different in products and inventions. I want to go to Japan one day.
I love seeing the two of you together, your amazing journeys to get to Japan and now you're both living your best lives here :) such a beautiful friendship you guys have! I hope you get to go camping!
@@melz6625 Home stores here suffer from deciding that they aren't supplying DIY but subcontracting services for your DIY project in a bizarre confidence that you WILL fail, and should not be trusted with sharp objects lest they be held liable for selling them to you. LOL love that you and Norm were shopping during daylight and it's dark outside already (9:24)! Best times just wandering basically every aisle and finding/playing with all the things

The best! So kind!!! 🙏🏻🥰
I could easily watch 6 hours straight of this kind of videos in supermarket/stores 😂❤
Oh, yeah. When I lived in Japan sometimes when I got bored, I'd just head to the local department store. HOURS of entertainment!
Same here
@@remaguire Were you teaching there?
"Emergency Mochi"
Suddenly, everything in my life has become an emergency.
Its like Canadian Tire but better 😂
basically, as I work there I envy this store I wanna go there some day
Cdn tire is so lacking in stuff.
indeed it is eh
Canadian tire and Walmart had a child and it moved to Japan eh
it's like a walk-in Amazon Prime store

Yes, this is a great ide
I third this suggestion!
Great idea!
i saw the bird cages or what look like bird cage on the side and cringed. my partner and i have tree cockatiels! those cages are so tiny!
Please do more shopping videos if you can - home centers, Costco, IKEA, etc.
It’s always interesting to see.

Yes
I’m having a Sharla BINGE 🤩
👀❤️
I really enjoy home centers in Japan, I miss them! Thanks for the virtual experience, Sharla! Enjoying your videos with Norm a lot!
They’re so much fun aren’t they! Could spend all day in one! 🙆♀️✨
Really nice to see "common everyday life" store and what they sell
My two nephews in Japan have 4 different beetles🪲 and named them George, John, Paul and Ringo. And have a larve named Yoko.
Haha, The Beatles!!😂😂 🎶 🎶
Man this is good timing, something to watch after a long day with tea and biscuits

Sharla just to let you know me and my sister just arrived in Japan she wants to go to the hot springs.
Awesome Sharla, it’ll be amazing when you two get to camp
This was awesome! I can't wait to see Maro's little house!
Liked the video only thing I don’t get is how you don’t like chocolate it’s so good omg and interesting to see so many cool Japanese products
For a project you should buy one of those 500 dollar houses that are out in the country side
Norm: teasing Sharla for going off mission
Also Norm two seconds later: HEY LOOK AT THIS *runs off*
Love watching someone shop in a country I’ve never been to, as much as shopping myself.
Seeing you together again is very satisfying for me. Glad to know you are friends. Sharla, you are everyones' friend!
I love home centers like Lowe’s in America. They’re so fun to wander through.

Filipinos use those kind, too! My mom loved them!
So many uses. In Appalachia, people keep them by their doors to help keep evil spirits away.
The shop touring vids are honestly just my favourite. I love watching them.

Honestly the videos where you go around shopping and get so excited about everything are some of my faves!! Love your energy!
Omg I need one of those jackets 😍
i miss you 2 together
They seem like a good concept, but how loud is it? Is it any better than a loose jacket?

Hey Sharla remember that time we went camping in a few weeks from now?
Also… I should have bought a trampoline lol
Lol, definitely a trampoline lol
Put the trampoline in your tent lol
I'm wondering if those are less trampolines and more like workout gear so you can run in place without making as much noise?

Maybe order one online like Sharla did then we can have the video of you setting it up too lol

That’s because they are modelled after real animals
Just goes to show how deep those beetles are in Japanese culture.
shoot... if you talked to a employee in America about mesh they would be like "i dont know" and look at you crazy. these employees are so helpful
