It's funny, cause I saw the big 4 dvd live in Sofia and Dave had this weird elmo voice on all the higher notes, but when he started singing at Knebworth (yes, I was there), I just thought to myself, wow, this is so much better than at Sofia, this actually sounds brutal.... And now I watch this vid and we're back at the elmo voice again? Wtf happened? The mixing guys did a bum job capturing his voice...?
@BoratNo1 @affrothunder93 This IS Dave's voice live. Watch the Big Four cinema recordings (found on pirate bay etc) and compare them to the DVD release. You'll see that nowerdays, Dave unfortunatly has a problem when he sings the high parts of songs. Megadeth are my favourite band, but Dave needs to get singing lessons-29 years of Megadeth seems to have finally taken its toll.
Believe me, when you go to see show live, everything sounds 80 percent than on any video. When I saw Metallica live, Lars sounded insane for me, he doublebassed like hell, then I checked livemetallica recordings, it doesn't sound like at it sounded in show..
@BoratNo1 Also, I was there as I said in my previous post and this is what he sounded like. Infact, he sounds better here because of the mix. I don't mind Elmo Dave though! Just don't be in denial, his voice, like James', is long gone.
lol all the people going on about his voice, live he sounded really squeaky on a lot of songs especially a tout le monde when he went high pitched was funny, awesome band though
@muppetman666 wasnt the quietness thats annoyin. its more the fact he sounds like kermit. the mobile phone videos from this sound exactly the same. i always thought dave should have stuck to guitar when he formed Megadeth, he's not much or a singer/frontman but he's brilliant at guitar

I was there, and his voice was not like this. The audio is definitely off here! Also....Big 4....best night ever!! Was at the front for it all!! Couldn't get enough!
J_Hutch92 I was there aswell, the footage is at Knebworth mate because it was a narrow crowd leading upto the stage with trees at the side, he’d also had an operation on his throat around that time I definitely remember him saying about the Sky not pissing down on us 👍
@SiR666Hamburger I have seen some recent performances where he is hit or miss - it sucks man- I love Megadeth and Dave is my favorite singer/guitarist - Anthrax-Nuclear Assault -Maiden still can sing great - the drugs-age-pot and cigs-relentless touring ruined his voice - Obviously Daves vocal style is insanely demanding - I'm hoping for a miracle - the music still sounds great
The mix wasn't to bad, though to be fair i was moshing for most of it, the only thing that bothered me was the kit, the snare sounded way to weird.. will admit the mix sounded way better at download the year before.
@affrothunder93 I was there too man, and I have to say the mix for the guitars was awful, could barely hear the solos! Was disappointed to say the least!
dave is so hard to hear at times these days.. gets so muffled with his vocals. remember seeing a live dvd from earlier in his career when he was so much louder!
06:55 onwards. goosebump material for me. This songs lyrics stand up to the excellent music accompanying it. Very very very very good.

because concerts are so loud its hard to hear small details the camera picks up, its mostly the bass just fucks up your head lol

i remember being surprised by his live vocals, sicne they soudned being really squeky...dont remember them sounding like this tho :P
