Great example of a need to abort a takeoff at the first indication that it isn't going according to plan, especially when operating off-airport or the backcountry. Glad it worked out for everyone.
says the dude who flies in almost ifr conditions, being a good pilot isnt all about skill, its about making decisions based on conditions and not being lured into flying in bad conditions just to show off to their friend...
Also the 180 pilot should have located his plane a bit further from the runway, I see a large area in the foreground. It looks like a no wind situation.
The super cubs sometimes might have slightly better takeoff and landing capabilities, but you gotta put into account that 180’s are faster, bigger, and haul more people and gear. For that reason I’d pick a 180.
The Beaver..The 180 and the Cub built and still run Alaska. I think for payload the 180 all day but the Cub can get into places the 180 can not. In a STOL environment the Cub can land and take off within 200.. That would be a mess in the 180 unless the conditions were in the pilots advantage.. headwinds etc.. Ive seen Counsell do magic in his 170 under poor conditions. But he's been a fighter pilot and is in many opinions one of the best back country pilots to date.. Quinn can get his 180 in pretty tight spots. But lol I dont think there is a mod to his 180 he doesnt have.
Yes, the CC and 180 are built for two different missions. Both are awesome at what they can do! Thank goodness the CC can take off so quickly. My 180 could not have handled that particular takeoff technique so well!
Cessna 180 and a Carbon Cub is a terrible comparison. Two totally different airplanes, in two totally different classes!!!! About the only thing to compare, is they are both tail draggers.
I'm not a pilot, but just watching youtube id have never parked my rig that close to the runway even at a north highlands street drag race with mostly sober drivers. 180 pilot was negligent or at least reckless parking that close to an off field strip. Also he's clearly a better pilot and should have known better...imho, but no harm no foul either.
I agree but in some of these backcountry strips there isn’t much parking. If you notice, the 180 is backed up to the fence. Also, the comment at the end was kind of a joke. We have no idea what kind of pilot the other guy is. He’s probably a great pilot and just had a slip up. Too bad for him it was caught on video!
Actually I’m quite sure the cub guy was just playing around . He induced a slip on purpose , there was never a question of lack of control. Most people have no idea what a plane can do.
Oldest story in aviation: Money to buy a high- performance airplane doesn’t buy the proficiency to fly it.
Oldest story with everything..
Plenty of dollars, but no sense....

You said it perfect Jughead
Absolutely would not fly anywhere near that Carbon Cub pilot.
Ditto!

You don't have a clue what you're talking about, but nice try. Do you know what "almost ifr conditions" is called? It's called "VFR" Einstein.
@@bartgoins1782 almost ifr conditions while only being able to fly vfr is called "stupid" not a good idea, just to show off to a friend
@@Ryan-sw3km you have no idea what you're talking about, but thanks for playing along.
As a certified RC pilot. I say good show man. Great save.
In FAA terms, “His Alligator Ego Almost Ate His Hummingbird Ass”!

Good thing he bought the "Ego Boost" package..... He'd a never made it without it!!

He forgot where the rudder pedals were.
Lack of tail wheel training in the Carbon Cub?
Hang on let me show you what you dont want to do.. I bet the 180 wont park there again.

Lots of options where to park. The 180 driver wasn't to smart so I guess the cub pilot would be my pick.
Lower Loon Creek (C53) is my favorite spot in FS2020 :-)
MORE RIGHT RUDDER!!!
Just like in the real world...you want to make sure your playmate choices are smart ones!!!!

Put the 180 pilot in the Carbon Cub and you might have a winner.
Pretty sure you could cut that Carbon Cub up and fly it out in the C180....
The CC pilot almost caused a problem in the beginning of the video. So if you want to tell the tale then ...
I'm a 180 man all the way !
Give me a 180 anyday
I'd go with the Cessna operator. Smooth safe takeoff and landing.
wow, that starting take was really close.
This 180 pilot > This Cub Pilot
Great content! Scary, but great!
The cub its de first love. And the 180 its de wife!!! But better 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cub guy lost control on take off.........my vote is the 180 guy
Me too!
Dad would have beat him with a Cessna 170.
I’ll fly the carbon Cub but unfortunately I’m a 180 guy that would rather fly with him
Very nice.......👍👍👍👍👍
Both planes are good
I don’t know anything about the Carbon Cub pilot but that 180 pilot sure is handsome...
safe flying guys !
What jerk....pull his ticket.....😡😡😡
