Phase 1 Yogg went better than I could have imagined. Gus's excuse of having to summon his demon being why he kept hitting the clouds was just a classic cherry on top of the shit sandwich.

well actually what i'm most suprised about is how Asmon does a good role as a raid leader, he is a little harsh with his word but really telling ppl how to improve and making sure they got what they did wrong understood
I've watched many raids with him despite having never played WoW. One thing I've noticed is he always knows exactly what went wrong and knows what to do to fix it. Now, whether he or others actually do so, is a different matter. But yes, a good leader. Once after wiping on a boss 7 times he replaced a single player and the next time they cleared it. He knew exactly who was in the wrong and had to be removed. Yes it's harsh, but he was right, and it was proven almost immediately.

A lot of people think you can't run through the middle to dodge clouds, had to explain that to some people the other day because they just kept running around in a circle. Run anywhere you need to run to dodge the clouds.
mimiron fight music is legendary and i've never seen anyone be allowed to die in a raid so much without being kicked, than gus
not just gus , like 90% of the raid died more times in this raid than I would in the entire expansion without getting kicked, it's astonishing

Well I mean he kinda forces it...those are the randoms you get if you're Asmon. It is what it is. If you wanna make sure you have a smooth experience where everyone has the same goal you have to build up a community (guild) and raid with those. Like in FF14 where Asmon found a few people that just wanted to play with him and show him the game. Just going with random troll viewers ain't gonna do shit most of the time.

i think the only reason Asmon does raids in this format (inviting a bunch of random people from twitch chat) is so he can feel like hes good at the game again
Its not a bunch of randoms, most of his twitch chat and followers love to brag about how hard retail is, but in retaily majority of retail players are bad at the game and are not part of the 0.1% hardcore group of retail. Just because you play retail doesnt flag you into being a better player. Im glad to see asmongold get humbled by classic.

The required level of ability for almost everything in retail is higher, the only thing that's harder in classic than retail is leveling, and that's only because you need a lot of time and game stamina to make it through to max level. Classic players preached about how much they loved leveling then turned right around and paid for boosts Lol

We had to pug for General/Yogg clean up because we were missing 10 people for clean up. We got to Yogg, and it was about the same lol. No one could stay out of the clouds.

Yea i'd go crazy too if the raid couldn't do Yogg 4 lights. 4 lights is so easy that I didn't even know what I was doing and was still able to clear it.

If you stop worshipping him for a minute you will see that he makes a ton of fatal mistakes, too. 30% of the wipes were on him alone. As someone who MT Ulduar and ICC, this is completely unacceptable. Tanks need to be the best players. @@Ryan83728

Oh, really? I would love to raid with him. He is an amazing leader. The amount of knowledge he has about each boss is astonishing, and he clearly explains the tactics.
His raid members are just dumb. My first full Ulduar was a Hard Mode + 0 light. It was a difficult encounter, but me and the rest didn't spend hours repeating the exact same mistake as his guys were doing on Shadow Crashes, Clouds, Mines. I can't even imagine them in Hard Mode.
It is unbelievable how dumb they were and how patient Asmon was. My Raid Leader would have banned those players from raiding long time ago.

Throws me back to that one nerub dungeon in early WotLK where one boss would go invincible and start summoning ads until you kill one very specific ad.
I was doing it once with an overgeared "hardcore raider" who *insisted* we do it with 4 people: me, another random and their fresh 80 naked friend since they can "carry".
And of course they COMPLETELY ignored all the boss mechanics and when we reached that one invincible boss their retro pal friend dressed in green ended up doing more damage than them before we wiped. They were so mad... Demanded we pay for repairs too.

I love Asmon but he becomes so unreasonable when raids are going poorly. Like, he will be straight up wrong about something and continue to double down, and rip into the person for something that he's completely misunderstanding.

bro, you guys actually did not get what was going on? He was talking about the situation where mobs were just randomly running around hitting everyone in the raid without being tanked, he never meant that 2nd tank has to steal the aggro away from asmon on a single mob avalaible to pull it away from middle lmaol. Guy just starting randomly taunting every single mob with no exception which are meant to be pulled in middle without actually pulling them in middle, when his only job is to get aggro off raid members when there re 3 mobs and more. So like no, what asmon said perfectly made sense there it's just that 2nd tank was absolutely unaware of what is going on. Asmon taunted mob and mob is being pulled to middle - Good, no need to steal the taunt away and pull mob elsewhere, There're 2 mobs randomly running around and hitting your dps and heals - Bad, you have to taunt them. It was as simple as that
I think you're one of the players that would be kicked. You don't taunt mobs when they're on the tank and the tank is fine, especially when that aggroes other mobs.
He was mad because the tank let mobs kill everyone else, then he got mad again when he realised the tank was too stupid to do his job.
As a dps it is your responsibility to stay alive. Healers will save you but they can't save stupidity and/or ignorance.
30 hours to get TLPD? I literally went AFK over the Engine of the Makers back in MoP to make a cup of tea. I was on my way to Ulduar to farm some mogs and NPC Scan popped while I was making tea lmao.
