I had this exact hair cut about 15 years ago and I loved it. I was able to do a ponytail, but it was quite slim yet had a lovely shape. This haircut was one of my favorite and stuck with me for quite a while. I did style it differently in the front though, hair tucked behind the ears to open up the face (just suits me better). Watching this feels very nostalgic.

I'm in dire need of your professional trustworthy advice / opinion please... when doing a ponytail cut, should the hair be proper wet, dry and straightened before sectioning, or damp/ slightly damp/ towel dried???
and FYI i will not be removing the 30ish cm that i did the first time i cut it 😅 came across my ponytail from the previous cut on the weekend it was a timely reminder to not cut so close to the head this time 🤣

Hey Poppett I don't recommend doing it on yourself as I'd say get a stylist to do it. But if you're feeling it!! I do it dry simply because he hair won't stretch
Thanks mate! I've got much more confidence in the end result from me following your ponytail tutorials than i do in any hairdressers in my local area.. "stylist" is really far fetched, the last salon i frequented i thought i had a good stylist until she left between appointments and the next girl gave me the exact same cut even when i asked for extra layers.. and then i realised that all 8 staff were doing practically the same cut on every client just at different overall lengths.. And it appears to be the same on social media accounts I've sussed out, i would assume it's lack of further education? My mum's hair has finally grown back to a reasonable length for even a pixie cut after chemo and she can't even find a stylist that uses a razor, needless to say she's disappointed our previous stylist retired..
I get a lot of compliments on my hair colour when I'm out and about and they look so sad when i don't have a salon recommendation and tell them i do it myself haha
BUT I'm always a willing and waiting model for when you book your trip to Melbourne! But i would suggest coming later in the year when daylight savings finishes so your missus and bubs have more daylight hours at the beach and you don't lose any daylight or disrupt the nap schedule, plus it's quite miserable here in the winter haha

We’re getting closer to the haircut of my dreams. Problem is that all the haircuts that you do that I like are the ones for stylists and not ponytails. We can’t bring your videos in a salon, it’s offensive and patronising. Stylists don’t want to be told how they should cut your hair. It’s no use. I never find a salon where I come out and I’m happy with results. That’s why I started cutting my own and I’m not the only one. Paul you’re good but you’re far so I can’t cm to you…shame
