- Walt Disney spent his life creating entertainment for children the world over. But some lucky kids actually got to work along side him at his Burbank studio and in "Working With Walt Disney" they share special memories of a man most of us only knew from afar.
Featured on the Walt Disney Treasures DVD "Your Host Walt Disney," this featurette sits down some of the stars of past Disney productions to talk about how wonderful it was to work for Walt. Former Mouseketeers, Tommy Kirk, and "Babes in Toyland" star Tommy Sands take the time to share some anecdotes on Walt the myth vs. Walt the man. We learn he was a friendly fellow, but distant at times, and wielded his celebrity like a fine-tuned instrument. Enjoy!

I worked with Walt Disney. The day before the opening day of Disneyland he asked me to be a dancer for it. Knowing I was a perfomer he asked me and I said yes.
That’s amazing that with everything going down on the day before opening that he considered using his precious time of he himself personally hiring a dancer. Not that it’s not an important part of the show, just that you would think that he would leave dancer hiring to someone else.

Don Grady was 62 years old in this interview. He looks really great. Sadly he died just 6 years later in 2012 from a diagnosis of myeloma.

Sadly he passed away on 9/28/21. His body was found unresponsive in his home, Cause of death yet unknown. No foul play suspected.

Tommy Kirk - RIP - He's a champion within the Gay community. He was one of the biggest box office stars Walt Disney ever had on contract. As a young adult he tried to live his life as discreetly as he could but yet remain as true to himself and the values he believed in. However, he soon discovered that such strong convictions are frequently met with a boat load of resistance. His contract with Disney was not renewed and his acting career with other minor studios resulted in superficial parts which eventually reached a point of being virtually nonexistent. However. he still seemed undaunted by this outcome and proudly lived his life going forward on his own terms and conditions. He found love and happiness that would have likely escaped him if he not pursued the later path he set for himself separate from a high profile career in Hollywood. His memorable roles in film are a testament to his astonishing abilities as an accomplished child actor. We can only wonder what other memorable roles he might have played in the future . If he had only been able to pursue his acting career with quality roles as a mature adult as he originally intended.
He should have persued gay porn.

Disney must learn its place in the world as nothing but an animation studio with some theme parks and under my rule it will. The Sherman brothers (who were jewish) put that nasty rumor to rest as did Floyd Norman, an african-american animator, who was hired by Walt himself, about Disney being racist. I have watched first-hand interviews with all of these men. Was Walt Disney flawed? Of course he was, who isn't?
