Thank you for sharing. My dad, Ed Garbert, worked at Disney Studios from the mid 1950's til the mid 1980's. He did the titles for all Disney movies and television back in the day and were all hand lettered. He loved his years at the studio when Walt was alive.
If you're ever down at Disney World and want a really amazing curated experience, the Riviera has a stunning collection of artwork from this period of time.
Miss you love you so much Mr Walt Disney rest in peace forever in our hearts believe in the magic never give up always pushing forward 🙏🏿🙌🏿😭🌟💫🏰🎆🎇💐🚀🛸🎪🎠🎡🎢🌌🎵🎶🖍️🖌️🧸❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖❤️🎊🎉💫✨🙏🏿💐🌹🕊️
It was so nice to hear such lovely memories from someone who knew Walt Disney. I wish I knew him and had worked for him. I also wish I had the talent to work for him. 😉 What a wonderful legacy he has left behind. I’m so grateful for the magic that he brought to my childhood through his characters and stories.
I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with Floyd a couple times and he is one of the most down to earth and genuine people I’ve ever spoken with. A true legend
Two men who have given the world, including my family, such wonderful entertainment through the years yet remain so humble. True class on display here.
Walt would be proud to know that such good and talented people have continued his dreams. And there are 1000's more in addition to Floyd and Don. Great piece!
Sometimes I like to imagine: how amazed would Walt be if he rode a new ride like Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway or Rise of the Resistance? Think about the things that didn't exist before he passed: the type of screens both of those rides use, the trackless ride system, the improved animatronics (not that that part would impress him too much considering animatronics were really good even before he passed...), etc.
WOW!!!! This is so magical! Thank you Don Hahn and Floyd Norman for taking us into the home of our beloved Uncle Walt and showing us where the magic really happened!
It's a shame that the Disney Co. of today has forgotten all of what Walt Disney stood for. The Company is taking advantage of their biggest asset, THE FANS of Walt Disney!!!!
A signed drawing by Floyd Norman hangs over my computer as I watch this. He's such a genuinely nice guy. So weird to think that 55 years after Walt's passing Floyd finally gets to come over and see the house.
Thank you Don Hahn, Ryan March and Floyd Norman for showing us Walt Disney's home which not many people have seen before. It looks beautiful and the pool looked great, plus the little house he had made for his daughter at the time was so cool. I enjoyed watching the video and an experience learning a few things about Walt Disney.
The only man who can Dream and inspired us all that If you can dream it you can make it happen for as long as you believe in yourself. We love you Walt
This was great seeing Walts home. He is one of America's greatest. He has brought so much cheer and good feelings to millions of people around the world. I'm now disappointed with the new executives and CEO of Disney. Seems now there is greed to fill there pockets with such high dollars salaries and stiffing the public for every dime they can get from them. Like staying on disney property then having to pay for your parking at the resort to park your car there. The room rates are high enough then adding a parking fee is a bit much. Dosen't seem like Walt would be happy with that. Especially when people are scraping there money to just have the experience of staying in one of Disneys beautiful resorts. My yearly trips to disney ever since DISNEYWORLD opened have now ceased. To bad greed has ruined a beautiful dream for many.
Disneyland also has that emotional attachment. I feel Walt's spirit is alive at Disneyland til this day. Yes Disney World has a bigger better castle but it does not have that 'magic' that Disneyland has.
They are talking about an emotional connection to the house. I'm tearing up because of the nostalgia and I have never even been there! What a sweet video. Thank you!
this video is just incredible I have never seen Walt Disney’s home before but now that I am watching this video I love it so much his house is so beautiful
There are no words for how wonderful this video is. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it and share it with us! I've been so disappointed with how the Park has been lately, but this is a reminder of why we love the magic of Disney. It will always be because of Walt.
What a great video... I love Walt's house! He had great taste! Interesting insights about his "clean break" in the 50's. That was also when he really started getting into turn of the century American nostalgia (think Main St. USA). I wonder if the war cause him to become disillusioned with Europe and begin looking forward with Tomorrowland-style futurism and into America's past with Frontierland and Main St. type nostalgia. Could have just been the onset of middle age too!
Take note Disney Corporation: Without Walt, you are NOTHING. This video only reinforces why Walt, and Walt era films/history/ animators, imagineers are what matters the most, and the future of the Disney Company depends upon this. The mega Corp that Disney has become is pure garbage. THIS is the Disney that matters. This is such a beautiful video. My gosh, it is great to watch this.
Hey I worked with these guys. Floyd on my first job in animation and Don at Disney. Well both at Disney. Good to see you guys again. And Don keep your eyes on the road when driving 😉
What a treat to be able to see inside and hear some fun facts as well… like the playhouse in the backyard and the photo of Walt with the Mickey silhouette! Amazing
don…thank you for the memories. i also checked out several films from the studio for my children’s birthdays, way back when. they even provided the projector and the screen.
Floyd Norman and Don Hahn are awesome. I grew up watching Disney animated movies and tv shows and my goal is to become a filmmaker. The filmmakers that inspired me are Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg.
Came to this channel to do angry downvotes, saw this and decided to take a look. This... was good. Walt Disney wasn't a saint by any stretch, but seeing that house let me feel a connection to a man long removed from myself who was at a certain stage of his life. The fairytale accents were lovely, reminded me of the interiors of european castles. That stairwell and the dining room were both excellent. And then he went into futurism. Thats an interesting thought. I wonder what changed to shift his focus so. Regardless, he was a visionary. It was just a shame that everything he was working on got tossed in the garbage the moment he died. His lofty plans, gone, his ideas shelved, his company was inherited by a bunch of meek suits only interested in safe gains. The magic slowly left as the decades went by, and now Disney is a shell of its former self.
Thank you for the special treat to go inside Walt Disney's home with persons who have such an admiration for our country's National treasure, Walt himself. I enjoyed the commentary of Floyd's recollections and Don Hahn's speculations of the father, the creator, the businessman, the dreamer, and the visionary. Great tour!
This was such an amazing video. I had seen another person vlog the outside of this home but was unable to tour the inside. It is a stunning home, not surprising since Walt designed it. I also enjoyed hearing from stories told by Floyd. Thank you for sharing it.
Very Very cool, awesome experience for all! I wish his Carolwood home was still there, along with his railroad. However, I know Walt did away with the railroad when a child had gotten hurt. Today, a new home has been built on the site and only the entrance to the tunnel under his wife's garden remains.
My entire childhood was about Walt Disney movies, books, music. What a great video! I am getting my grand-babies who are 7 and 5 into all things Disney now. Thanks so much for sharing!
A truly captivating vlog - thank you for sharing with us all - Walt’s memory lives on. Cannot believe that Diane and Sharons’s playhouse is still there - wow! 👍🇬🇧 UK DVC members: David, Sophie and Olivia
It is sad, but I am sticking by my guns. I have no plans of returning to a Disney park again until the Corporation changes for the better. If this means I never see Disneyland again, then so be it. I am committed to preserving Walt's legacy, here in Kansas City, and everywhere that I can. Walt is too important to me, and should be to every American, and everyone around the world.
Wow! It's amazing there is still so much Disney history in this house that Walt lived in long ago. The owners must be Disney enthusiasts themselves, and that is great! And these wonderful stories that Floyd and Don share make this tour even more memorable! Thanks for sharing this with us fans!!!
"The audience wont care anything about the story if they dont connect emotionally with the characters" Truer words have never been spoken. Are you listening Star Wars and Disney? No, I dont think you are or that you care $$$$$$$$$
How nice. I can’t help thinking some of the art on the walls may need conservation. Good thoughts from S/R Laboratories Animation Art Conservation Center, Westlake Village,Calif..
Walking down the hallway where the most famous picture of Walt Disney standing next to the silhouette of Mickey and you just see the shadow on the wall
Floyd Norman is a legend who has never given up on his passion for animation. I wish him many more years and successes.

@@Explorenit yes you are correct -amazing
Wow!
My dad worked at the studio too, but after Walt had died. My dad did know Roy though. Do you remember the awesome Christmas parties at the studio?
That porch they walk in...first view of details and it's AWESOME and feels cozy.

@@BabsChannel we’ve interviewed him a couple times on our podcast. Super cool dude
@@JustinKoehn Neat. I'd like to talk to him one day. Just not sure how to go about it.

Boy does Floyd look great for 85, like 10-15 years younger!
WOW I’m glad to see that Walt Disney’s house was kept as it was when he lived there. This was just amazing 🤩

What an amazing honor to view this iconic video of the history of Mr. Walt Disney. Thank You so much!

Amazing man Walt was is one of the greatest in America
Walt would hate what his parks have become with their greedy overlords pricing families out of going to his parks.
It’s tragic
Floyd Norman might just be the coolest man alive
Lovely conversation and history. Thank you for sharing.
Well Done, Disney Maestro!
WoW!!!!! So this Walt Disney home! I wonder who actually live in here now?
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing and bringing us along with you.
