Finally an ad that doesn’t lecture us how to celebrate Diwali but rather gives a very beautiful message about the essence of Diwali. Truly heart touching ad.
My interview was scheduled, i had found I was 2 weeks pregnant just 4 days back. I was advised not to mention about my pregnancy but then my sense of integrity dint let me do that. During the interview, i mentioned that I was starting a family which meant i would be on maternity leave post few months. To my utter surprise, that did not change the decision of the interviewer who was a male btw and I was hired. Till date, i consider him as one of the best mentors I have had. I hoped that line in the ad "dont mention that you are pregnant wasnt there, or I wish she had said, come what may, even if I have to lose my job, I will be honest and mention about my pregnancy"
They have kept it honest n realistic, most women would be in dilemma on whether to state it clearly or be silent on it. 18.5 years back , i was open about it and I paid for it heavily, they delayed my promotion despite recommendation , i was nearing full term so could not leave at that time, they adjusted my performance rating, i was a high performaner , i got adjusted to meets expectations , as soon as returned back from maternity , i switched , citing the reasons of equity. I am so happy that times are changing now. Wishing all new mother's a happy and non worrying motherhood, if you are good, you have the mettle to prove , stay confident and success will follow ❤️❣️👍🏻👍🏻
@@farozanparvez2495 well, I think the ad is far from being realistic. In no interview is aloo parantha and achaar shared and not asked any technical questions, even if its last round. @@twilight9237Only when the job you are applying for falls under the formal sector, like most jobs in government and permanent positions in private companies. It depends on state to state also, although most states have maternity and woman welfare laws on paper. Most companies consider maternity leave, a net loss, where they have to pay full salary to an employee for a long absence. Although companies are forced to approve maternity leave by labour laws, most don't hire a part timer to pick up the slack and in case of very high skill positions it is impossible to find a substitute for the employee on leave. This leads to overburning of the rest of the employees (in such cases) and creates a negative opinion about a female employee on leave. Because of this invisible pressure, a lot of women working at a higher position keeps postponing their pregnancies, and even though six month's maternity leave is suggested, take only 2-3 months of leave. Some even work from home to relieve the workload from their colleagues. The maternity leave clause is supposed to be one of the most essential and liberal labour law passed to ensure both job safety and safe pregnancy of a woman, but in reality has led to many employers downright refusing to higher newly married or unmarried women (that's why they ask the questions mentioned by the CEO madam). In their mind they are calculating how many months of absence to expect. In counties where corporate jobs are considered stable, maternity leave is one or two time events, eventually evened out by years of service in the same company. In India however most middle class women are forced to leave jobs as their children start growing up and their families expect them to take up all the responsibility. This makes the employers even less interested in hiring them because of not seeing long term prospects in them. Pregnant or not, being a women employee in India and keeping the job is a challenging task.
Watched it more than 100 times. Every time I feel down-inside, look for it. It reminds me of being selfless, respectful, creating space for others and compassionate listening. Sheeba Ji and the Lady being interviewed are like pair made in heaven. Words are not enough for this majestic creation.

Thank you! We're so Happy to hear from you.
Awesome advertisement Sabhyata, kudos for depicting such a sensitive topic with such clarity & charm! Sheeba Chadda is delightful & evergreen as usual & the other two women actors - Ayesha Kaduskar & Leah Khambata are so well suited to the advertisement as well. Just a small request to you - If you can add English subtitles for the non-Hindi speakers of India then it will make this advertisement easy to share!👏👏👏
Thanks for sharing the names of the other two actors as well :)
