29 th of May 2023 here. Bought a second hand FXLRS two months ago with the guard already on it. Dropped my 2021 low rider s today (Similar to you bad angle, couldnt hold it anymore.) Minor scratches on the engine guard. Nothing else. Really thankful that the former owner put on the guard (which I wasnt a fan of in the beginning.) Thanks for your Video. Ride safe. Greetings from germany
Thanks for sharing.. a lot of guys would save themselves the embarrassment of sharing. These things happen and it’s part of owning a bike. You were prepared and it turned out as good as it can.
Thanks brother 🙏. I was so mad at myself, I almost dropped it before this recent incident. I dropped my other bike the same way. Front wheel turned to the left while backing up, at a 7-Eleven. Super embarrassing 😳. Happy I had the engine guard this time.
Don't feel bad bro, I dropped mine yesterday while installing my forward controls! I was in my garage and was straddling the bike while moving it forward about a foot and I did not notice the kickstand had retracted. Lucky when began to lay it on the stand I felt it going down so I was able to kind of keep the momentum low as it went down. Thank God for engine guards! It went down on the clutch side so only got a small scratch on the bottom of the engine guard and the bottom of the round 114 cap! My pegs help take the hit to. Its not even noticeable unless your onthe ground looking at it. Lesson learned!
That engine guard is a life saver! Glad to hear everything is all right. We just have to be more alert, I try not messing with distractions when parking the bike. I've almost forgot to put the kickstand down sometimes, while messing with my GoPros. When my friends didn't realize I had dropped the bike until they saw this video LOL. I was so embarrassed, I didn't tell anyone.
@@InfamousCreep exactly bro. Made me sick to my stomach when if happened! I’m glad yours was not bad also! 💪🏻

I was going dealership to get my engine guard installed. Then I realised that I forgot something at home so went back and left the bike on the kickstand. At least I thought I did. Ended up going to dealership anyway to replace the dented gas tank & install engine guards. I wish I had done it day first instead of messing around and shopping for different engine guard designs. Left indicator that I also supposed to replace dented through the gas tank because I also delayed the installation of handlebar risers.
I'm waiting for a discount on parts, but it looks like the engine guard is enough protection. I saw a video on UA-cam where they put em to the test, the exhaust still touches the ground. Maybe they come in clutch for a high side, still worth the money. If people are on a budget they should get the engine guard first.
I dropped mine, lucky I was going very slow and I have strong legs so I laid it down slowly. No damage to me or the bike but I’m getting engine guards fitted next week when they arrive at my local HD dealer. Its a good investment.
I was on a long ride home, about 11hrs that day. When I got home I got off the bike thinking my kick stand was down lol. Those damn Harleys lean so much when on the stand I just thought I set it down already. Anyways, I have and engine guard and and saddle bag guards. No damage at all except some scraped paint on my black guards so I just used some touch up paint and cant even tell its been down
I just ordered an engine guard from Amazon, it was only a hundred bucks. I took the new rider class and rode the street 500 for three days and I laid her down once, decided then to get one for my bike.
So weird man, that this video would pop up on my home screen on UA-cam. I just had a accident yesterday with my 2020 Lowrider S, I pulled out of my garage. Then I went to hop off my bike to close the garage and then my bike jumped out from underneath me. I totally thought I had the damn bike in neutral, nope the bike went down lucky enough the jiffy stand saved my bike. The only thing damaged my bike was the derby cover and a little nick on the primary chain case cover. I almost had a heart attack yesterday haha. Definitely yesterday I ordered a Bung King crash bar.
Eerie. I know the feeling, luckily the damage wasn't major. You could always replace the derby cover, luckily the primary case has a wrinkle black finish. Won't stand out as much.
I was actually really close to buying Cobra freeway bar. I went with Harley because of the built in foot rests(mid controls). Jokes on me because I can't even reach the foot rests.
I only have 1k on my bike and I just added the same crash guard this weekend. We live in the same hood, I'll try to wave you down next time I see you. I'm 6 foot, so this engine guard worked out great for me.
The same thing that happened to your Sportster happened to me in the early 90s back when I had a 1981 Yamaha xs400. Old lady hit it in a parking lot and just left it there and took off.
A bit of humility is good for us all, and I'm sure we've all done it a time or two. Like you said, $250 is easier/better to damage than your exhaust or hard parts on the scooter. Glad the guard worked!
Do you have a link to your Harley-Davidson Mustache Engine Guard? I have read from some people saying that they had a lot of problems installing it, where others said it fit well with no issues. I was thinking they have a few different part numbers for various models.. I want to make sure I get the right OEM set.
@@InfamousCreep Earlier today at my appt I laid my bike down I never in a million years thought this would happen to me as my dad was a biker and I grew up all around bikers as a child going on bike runs and Riding different Harleys as a teenager. Well it's been a long time since those days and now im 47 I finally got a Harley of my own a Dyna street bob . Why do I need crash bars I thought I'm a seasoned rider and once you learn you never forget.. Im not a rookie beginner . A buddy of mine has crash bars on his sporty. And is new to motorcycles has dropped it 7 times luckily most of those were at his ranch with soft sand . Anyway today I dropped my Harley in a way I never thought possible. I ran over a decent size puddle I'm my apt complex . But in the puddle were about 25 yellow jackets flying around in and round the water probably getting some water.. well a few followed me and stung me on my side when it did I panicked and dropped the bike.. I can't believe this is how I dropped. My bike for the first time . I was so proud of not dropping my bike after a thousand miles of riding. Felt like I was levitating above all the rookie riders and newbies that would drop their bike in the first ten feet or turning a corner with a bit of gravel . Well today I was humbled . Can't believe I did this. All I can do is shake my head every time I think about it..lol
@@robertrodriguez8082 that sucks lol. I always try avoiding gravel and puddles. I had my experience with wet 🍃 🍃, now I'm more cautious ⚠️. I'm glad I had it when I dropped the bike, $200 saved me thousands. I remember dropping my first bike during a stop, you just learn from your mistakes.
You're honesty helps the rest of us. That engine guard probably saved $3000 worth of damage in scratches and dents. I never would have considered an engine guard otherwise. Regarding the hit and run guy on your Sportster: uninsured motorist insurance (part of the liability portion) will cover hit and runs, but it varies with each company. There's some real shitbags out there.
Definitely grateful for it, and I honestly like how it looks on the bike. I have GEICO, at the time I had 2 bikes insured at $100 a year. They wouldn't repair it. I'm lucky the handlebars were turned to left, probably saved my air filter and tank.

Yep, these new kickstands are crap. You gotta make sure the kickstand is locked, I’ve seen a lot of dropped bikes because of the faulty kickstand
Yeah mate just ordered that mustache guard for my sport glide. Great review. Plus it looks Sic
Hope you enjoy it! It's a life bike saver.
Bung King makes some really cool sliders for the back of your bike that will protect the exhaust

Extremely lucky. I wasn't even riding and managed to scratch the engine guard and exhaust. I'm happy the engine guard saved my bike.

Ordered a cobra freeway bar tonight. Glad to see your bike didn't suffer any serious damage.
I was actually really close to buying Cobra freeway bar. I went with Harley because of the built in foot rests(mid controls). Jokes on me because I can't even reach the foot rests.
@@InfamousCreep yeah your comment about not reaching the foot rests swayed me to the cobra ones since like you I have short legs too 😄

What are the speakers that you have on those bars I looked through a good bit of your videos and could not find a video on the speakers themselves
Plex Audio, they're compatible with lots of different fairings.

I had trouble installing it, but was told if you install the outer bolts first it's much easier.
Infamouse. I love the handle you use for the camera on the left front handle bar. What is it called ??? I need buy 1
It's Ram mount, they have multiple different mounts, it's great. It's heavy-duty, removable and adjustable.
@@InfamousCreep awesome bro thanks
Are those speakers behind the fairing? If so where can I get em. Thanks.
Plex Audio System, 2 wheel audio is also a great option. Plex Audio has 3 different brackets and fits with most fairings.
What wngine guard is it?
Harley mustache engine guard
What kind of engine guard is that?
Harley mustache engine guard, I can barely reach the foot rests at 5'7"

Man hearing that story about your sportster pissed me off dude. Glad to see the engine guard is doing its job tho
Hey how much did you pay for 2020 lowrider S out the door?
Little over 21k
You can wet sand that part on the engine guard and just hit it with some spray paint and it will be like it never happened
800 grit and spray it with high gloss black. I ok with the imperfections, I'm just gonna leave it alone.
Good to know
Yeah buddy, get yourself an engine guard.
Shitty situation...good deal on the engine guard...rock on
The absolutely best protection plan for your investment.
I just put one on my Softail they can save you lots of money
It saved me thousands, same goes for Bike N Bird. He had an accident 2 years ago, saved his leg too.
Is their enough shit on the bars
Lol my gopro, phone and my gauges? Haha
