hello jeremy here from Wilco Offroad and noticed a few things that can solve the two issues you had,, the wiggle on the tire is because you did not torque the pivot bolt to the correct spec,, that bolt need to be at 60 to 75 ft lbs. and there is no way you could do that with the small ratchet you had,.Also the arm should have about 15 lbs of resistance when swinging open and closed that's the other reason I know that the bolt is loose, as for the wedge lock it can for sure hang out of the back of the hitch this will not cause any issue but we do recommend that you use the first hole in the hitch itself this will engage the wedge lock a little better.. hope this help happy trails,,,,
@@Blade_Outdoors I am not as handy, I paid 200 for a trucksmart to install. I added a lock to ensure it would not get stolen or in case of malfunction. I also added a locking lug nut to keep the spare on the carrier.
I’m thinking of purchasing the hitch gate solo, but am wondering what you do about the license plate. It seems like it would be a lot to have to move the plate and the plate light.
@@robinreul7729 I did take that into account. The location of my plate on the Solis is only covered about 25% when looking directly from the rear. Since that was the case I just left it there. The state I live in may be more relaxed than other states or I’ve just been lucky. That being said, if it was completely covered, I definitely would have relocated it.
