  • Stressors of everyday life and unexpected events can often bring anxiety and unrest to their lives, often leaving them feeling lost or alone. Trying to find ways to cope during these difficult times is not always easy, and they should not have to navigate through the healing process alone.
Meet Ashley Pender. She is a clinical mental health counseling intern at Mathews Counseling and has a great passion for helping individuals find meaning and become the best versions of themselves despite the difficulties life may bring. With therapy, you can collectively work through these life stressors and find insight while discovering effective coping strategies. Your journey with Ashley will be a safe, nonjudgmental place for you to be yourself. She will integrate an eclectic counseling approach to best fit your needs as a client.
She works with a diverse group, including children, teens, and adults. She has previously worked in the medical field and has experience working with individuals of all ages in different stages of their lives.
Ashley was born and raised in North Carolina, originally from Charlotte. She is currently working on her master’s degree in counseling at Liberty University. She received her B.S. in community health education from Southern New Hampshire University. She also has a medical background, working as a certified medical assistant for over 6 years.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, making flower arrangements, baking, and playing board games with her children.
She is currently taking new clients for both in-person and Telehealth appointments. She is practicing as a clinical intern under the supervision of both Dr. Adaria Warner, LMFT, and Amber Green, LCMHC.
