Did you not show it working because the synchros were knackered, especially third gear. It crunched before you did anything! Series gearboxes need slow changes.
Sorry but I don't understand why anyone needs a " slick shift " on a Series Land Rover . It's old technology and likes slow changes , if you " feel" the gearbox and work it properly it changes ok. If it's raced then the syncro's just can't keep up. Believe me, I know. I drive one daily
Just popped up on my UA-cam. Three years late! My sentiments exactly. It’s a prewar Rover four speed box with big cogs. Wtf do you expect it to change gear like.? Part of the charm is the long lever travel and double de clutching and learning how to drive it as fast as the box allows, reflects your own skills and understanding. 1961 200 tdi 109 with roamerdrive that I drive every. day. Now if someone could invent a way of stopping the levers rattling and buzzing , that’d be useful. That’s why you drive a series ,single handed most of the time.
Looks awfully like you don't want us to see the end result! and i am not surprised, i put one of these slickshifts in my Defender and it works lovely, BUT! i would'nt let you guy's near my series3 after seeing this. Sorry Boy's, Thats the long and short of it.
That spring "arrangement" you found is definitely not a standard Land Rover fitment... I think this conversion is unnecessary, you have taken away one of the charming elements of a Series Landy, a good condition Series 'box is a pleasure to use ☺️
Can you advice me if i can install Buick engine in Land rover 109 with same gearbox for landrover 4cylinder?and my question is what the different between gearbox of land rover v4 v8 and rang rover 1985?thank you

Also.... Double de-clutch it instead of trying to ram it in there. Poor little landy ... 😞
Land rover series 3 is the best

I saw some people drill the center of the screw to break it . I think it will be better than a hammer 👍🏼

why are there so many land rover left in that barn
Because one Land Rover becomes many over time... :)
TirsbaekTV why don't you do something with them
Most of them are already done up and driving, and some are for those days where you got nothing else to do :)
TirsbaekTV like most the stuff stuck in my drive. 2 defenders a 2a 3 lawntractors and a grey fergie + plough & cultivator
how many land rover have you
Too many to count :D
Pretty tight shifter. Cope with worse on mine.
Why u not putting bucket seats in this one? Ffs
GREAT STUFF PEEPS I need to buy one its just im tight lol only joking
Weight reduction bro 😂
This is a comedy video???? Who has the floor screwed down on there landy...most of the time I don't even have the passenger floor in.
You're ruining everything you play with a nice narrative camera zoom, do not play with zoom.
