I watched other videos on looping, yours has been the best and easiest to follow because you talk slow and explain yourself as you go and how and where to find the settings. By far the best video thanks for sharing from one dad to another dad 👍👍
Awesome, thank you!
Even the GoPro website doesn't help with this. Good video. Instructions:
Steps:
1.) Click the mode listed on the screen (the section that shows resolution and fps)
2.) Scroll all the way down, hit the '+'
3.) On the MODE screen, slide the circle down and LOOPING should show as selected
4.) Tap the screen
5.) Modify settings if you need.
6.) Click the check mark at the top right corner. Done.
thanks for easy to use directions!!!
Dam i’ve been trying to figure out the setting. This is the only video I found that actually explains how to set it up. Not just what it is. Thank you. Hopefully I can use it for my fishing videos. To make better videos
Glad I could help!
Thank you for a simple, straight forward video.
You are welcome! Thanks for Watching and your kind Words!!!!!!😀😁
Thank you! Great video. Very intuitive. I mainly use my GoPro for surfing, but have recently started using it as a dash cam as well. Need the looping option so I’m not constantly reformatting the sd card. Much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks heaps for this video. I'm glad you called it just for dad. kids just don't understand
Thanks big time for this setup. Using this for the motorcycle as a dashcam and powered off the bike.
Again thanks 👍
No problem 👍 Thanks for Watching and your Kind Words!!!
Great video sir! This was clutch!✌🏾 I liked and subscribed...
Awesome thank you! Glad it helped, Thanks for Watching and your Kind Words!!!
Thanks mate. Just what I eas looking for
Glad I could help
Finally, THANK you!
Thanks for sharing this 👍🏻
Wonderful simple explination. I bought this go pro for a dash cam. One nightie Febuary,I was almost shot by a thug at the gas station. The next day I bought this camera with a windshield mount.
Oh MY! That sounds crazy scary. Hope the camera works well.
Awesome! Needed help and you delivered - Looping is a Great Figure for fishing! Fish Out Loud! ;)
Glad I could help! Good luck Fishing and I hope you catch the big fish and catch it on video!!!
@@JustADad Thanks 😊 Remember you’re just one cast away...
Love u dad!
Very nice, thx. I’m not sure how long this would have taken me to figure out on my own. 😮
You’re welcome 😊
I’ve tried this many times and used all the different time looping settings. Whichever one I use it only leaves the beginning time. Not the last minutes of the recording. Any help with this ?
Thx! 👍🏻
No problem!
Muy util! Gracias!
Thanks
Thanks, Dad :)
You bet!
Hello, is this the same for GoPro 6?
Great vid! But please help. Its on 5 min looping setting. But the clips only become 1 min. I dont get it, do you know why? 😮
..
Hey nice video. I see that the hero 9 has the hypersmooth option. Does it work well with looping mode? I have gopro 5 and when I have looping mode on it doesn't have any stabilization....
Yes it does! but it drains the battery really quick. I am not sure these batteries last much longer than on my Gopro Hero 8. Thanks for Watching.
What other video resolution and frame rates are available in looping? Does it have 2.7 60 FPS or 4K 60fps in looping mode? Thanks!
Looks like all the video options are available in looping
@@JustADad Thanks for responding! I appreciate it. 👊🤙
Great video. Things you can't find in the owners manuel.
Wow thanks so much!
My Hero 11 doesn’t have the + sign in the modes menu. Any ideas?
Nice tip . When the sd card is full, with looping is overwriting the previous files or stop recording?
Yes, correct
Thanks! Please let me add one thing, on Hero10, "extended battery" mode must be disabled in order to create a new profile in loop mode. If it is enabled you gonna be crazy tryng to find the option!
Thanks for sharing!
Oh ffs, just got a 11 and couldn't work out why this wasn't coming up, now I know why.
Hello, on the gopro 8 the quality was 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps, i would like to know if they added 2.7k 60 fps or somthing like that on the gopro9
Yes depends on which lens you have selected. These are the 2.7k video modes
Wide Lens 120, 60 fps
SuperView Lens 60 fps
Linear Lens 120, 60 fps
Linear + Horizon Leveling 120, 60 fps
Narrow Lens 120, 60 fps
But will it save when the power cuts off? Or will it just save nothing?
This option doesn't seem to be available on the 10 black
So i'm just doing a bit of a test on the hero7 and even though i have it set on 5 minutes and have been recording for about 8 i only get the last minute, anyone know why?, just set it to 20 so see what happens
Does it save that last 5 mins and then carry on recording for another five mins?
Is this a TRUE looping where if you supply constant power it will record for infinite hours and just automatically delete the old files and write new ones ?
Hi, Trying the looping mode, did everything you did (on the hero9) but i get 1 minute clips when set to the 5 minute mode. I used it for fishing, but its not really looping. could you maybe show what happens after 5 minutes for you? Thanks
Let me check
@@JustADad figured it out. It saves as 1 min videos. But if you keep watching it continues into the next part. When you put them in the computer it saves as the 5 min
@@seanriordan789 Thanks for sharing, I learned something today thanks to you!!!
having this same issue. in quick app it only has 1 minute of footage not 5 mins. when you say putting in the computer what do you mean? when I looked at the SD card in the computer on that drive it only has it as 1 minute intervals?
I put it on looping mode, stop recording after I have caught a fish, i caught 5 fish, shouldn't I only have 5 sections that recorded plus the last one. I end up with 60 or 70 sections. I took it off looping and just recorded all day long thinking I would have only 1 section, again, 60 or 70. What am I dong wrong?
That is the file system and that is how gopro works, they have to break down the videos into smaller files and when you want one video you have to stitch them back together with an editing software or use there Gopro App on your phone. Not ideal and one of the big drawbacks of Gopro, Maybe someone else might have a better answer, but this has been my experience.
it's funny I've checked several sources to figure out how to enable loop recording and each one shows a different method because the GoPro OS changes. I can't stand how difficult it is to navigate through the GoPro and find the settings you need.
Yep I agree
How does your battery last so long
It does not last that long
I have no idea why my gopro7 5mins looping saved 1min only... do you know why??
Thanks for Watching, I the moment I don't have a Hero 7 but maybe someone will see your question and be able to help.
Can't find that function on the 10?
I wonder if they did away with it?
LOL I just commented about that also, I think they did away with the option
This can't be used as Dashcams. Gopro won't allow you to record if the SD card has less than the space of one interval. And Gopro will stop recording if SD card is full. This is different from Dashcams that override the oldest file and continue recording.
I must be missing something, I see no presets available, much less any option to add one. *EDIT: Turns out, there are no presets and no looping when using the Max Lens Mod.
Thanks for Sharing what you learned!!!
i still wondering why no 10min looping
Why you all go pro video makers doing protest against memory card or what?? Nobody speak any single word about memory card..your go pro shows 54 hours or minute time on screen. How ?
These cameras are pieces of shit. Can't figure out how to use them !!
They can be a challenge. I find I don't use mine as much as I thought I would.
Setting Looping is OK, but try removing it.
It beats me.🥷
