- A gorgeous hike through the secret valley of bluebells to the summit of Rannerdale Knotts, with stunning views over the high Fells of Buttermere. We then take the long and steep assent to the summit of Whiteless Pike. A moody morning turned into full sun for the afternoons hiking, with stunning scenery over Crummock Water and the Buttermere Valley.

Just gorgeous country! I love to see where my people came from! Great story about the bluebells.
Thanks ever so much for watching and yeah, it was quite a story, would not have wanted to be one of those trapped in the ambush. Take care, cheers Alan
Stunning views. imagine waking up to that
Thanks very much for watching and talking the time to leave a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
This is a stunning place surrounded by beautiful scenery. Outstanding landscapes.
Thanks very much for watching, a real nice day out and the surrounding scenery was incredible, cheers Alan
The secret Valley of the Bluebells wow! Absolutely sensational indeed! Kat thinks this could be a sign this was once woodland 🤔 that's why they are out in the open.....oh wait....here comes the history! Love that Alan good job! 👍 love the story, very cool! Beautiful photos too Mr Metalman ❤ 📸
Spectacular views, and very well captured and shared 😀
Lovely looking first summit, goodluck with the Fairfield Horseshoe and the mystery meet up too, very intriguing! 🤔 📹 👑
Wow the clouds cleared, or tried too, it was grey one way and blue another! what a beauty 😍 lol everyone a critic huh, cheeky bugger! 😆
Glad you had a good day Alan, nice to chat with fellow fel folk 🥰
Hope you and Mrs Metalman man have a great weekend in Edinburgh, Ceri and Kat ☕ ❤ 👍 ⛰
Funny thing was, it was a bit dull and cloudy going up but I ended up getting sunburnt on the way down lol! I agree with Kat, it must have been a massive forest in that valley all those years ago, especially to ambush such a big army. Bit concerned about the trains tomorrow as there is a rail strike planned, so unsure if we will get there to be honest. Thanks very much for watching and have a great weekend, cheers Alan
Good morning Alan. Wow that bluebell valley is just stunning. What a gorgeous spot to tell the story of the blood of the French. The colours are just incredible. With the fells behind 💗. Views for miles.
Always a good excuse to have a bit of chocolate.....to admire the views. Lovely to have the sunmit to yourself. Enjoying the peace and quiet. Looking forward to seeing you, Eddie and Ashley out. Ooh and a surprise hike with a mystery couple. I shall keep my eyes peeled for that one.
Thoroughly enjoyable video. Say hi to Mrs Metalman. 💗🥾
Thanks very much for watching Emma and so pleased I turned around when I did as, as well as getting sunburnt on the way back, we ended up doing 13.25 miles and 4 summits 4 days later with Eddie and Ashley, so real pleased I left plenty in the tank lol, cheers Alan
Interesting story. Beautiful place. Great video. Thank you for the beautiful moments. 👍
Thank you for watching, real n ice of you and such a beautiful place to visit, I really enjoyed it, cheers Alan
Wow - love the bluebells! Those views - just WOW! Love seeing the views and hearing the history - thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it and real good of you to stop by. Caught the bluebells this year, normally too early or too late lol, cheers Alan
Alan, absolutely beautiful spot with outstanding views. Those blue flowers are stunning. I love that you live in a spot of the world with such cool historical significance and natural beauty and I appreciate thst you film and share this with us.
Glad you enjoyed it and a real good day out, especially when the bluebells are out too, shame they do not last a bit longer. Real good of you to stop by, appreciate it, cheers Alan
Really is fascinating to hear about the bluebells on your way too Rannerdale. Incredible. and i have to say, wow, your footage is bloody beautiful, the colours are lovely im so glad you had a good day for your hike. Some gorgeous views from Whiteless Pike, incredible you did that Alan, wow. Thank you for sharing your day out, always enjoy watching and walking with you! 👍👌💕
It was a real good morning out, loved the bluebells there and first time I have actually caught them but it was dull and cloudy first thing but on the way back to the car I got sunburnt - crazy weather! Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Beautiful colours from the bluebells, nice video. Wishing you a wonderful afternoon/evening. Take care
Many thanks, real nice of you to watch and leave a comment, thank you, cheers Alan
Wow those bluebells at the start of the trail are amazing 🤩 just stunning
Real nice to see them, I usually come to early or too late and miss them, so real nice to catch them this time. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
That was a beautiful walk. The blue bells are awesome. No shame in turning back when you’ve had enough. I’ve had to turn back a few times myself. Once we had to turn back after taking an hour to go quarter mile post holing in 8 feet of snow. We were absolutely wiped out. Another time on the same mountain I had to turn back because of the clouds and it was so thick you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. 👍👍
Pleased I did turn back, as I ended up doing 13.25 miles and 4 summits with my friends 4 days later was was real bushed at the end of it. Real good of you to stop by, cheers Alan
Beautiful landscape around, full of flowers. Spring is really beautiful. Great hiking today with views like this around. Have a nice weekend Alan.👍👍
Thank you! You too! Such a nice area to hike, made even better with all the bluebells out, I really enjoyed the day, cheers Alan
The landscape is amazingly beautiful . Great hike and commentary!
Thank you for watching and your kind words, very nice of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
It's way too easy to slip and fall. Hope it wasn't too bad.
I love meeting with other channels that's awesome! I try to watch all the way. Most of the time I can but sometimes the phone rings or Tina screams lol!
Haha, yes I have heard Tina screaming lol! Real good of you though and I need to be careful when I walk along as I cannot afford a fall when I am by myself. Have a great weekend, cheers Alan
The bluebells just add to the incredible beauty of this area Alan. Doesn’t appear to be a bad view from any vantage point. Thanks for taking us along Brother! 🤘🏼
Glad you enjoyed it Doug and real pleased you stopped by. A real nice place especially in bluebell season, cheers Alan
That looks like an absolutely gorgeous place to hike. I’m always blown away by the epic vistas there.
Real good of you to watch and leave a comment! appreciate it, cheers Alan
You definitely deserve the 2022 award of best Bluebell channel. not only did you get amazing ones on Newton Wood but you absolutely slayed it here, and to think all those bluebells stem from french blood is even more appealing somehow! You have some great collabs planned, hopefully we will make it onto your list one day! Its nice getting recognised, the cheek of that fella, your certainly our cup of tea Alan! Know your limits, think you were right to cut it short, especially given the upcoming hikes you have planned. Pace yourself! 👍EPIC from start to finish! All the best Nick and Jill
Real pleased I turned back when I did, as I did 13.25 miles and 4 summits 4 days later, which was a killer, so pleased there was a bit left in the tank lol. I enjoy the collabs, done a lot over the years and every one turned out good, with real nice people so, always enjoy them. It was so funny when that guy said he was not keen and I said I appreciate your honesty, he was not sure what to say lol. Good of you to watch, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN yeah we keep cutting our hikes short whilst we adjust to the new hotter days, it definitely takes it out of you more! Well done on the subsequent hike! Look forward to seeing it! 👍
Such a beautiful trail and great hike. Stunning views. Thank you for sharing. 👍😍
My pleasure and what a beautiful sight it was so so many bluebells all over the Fells, I really enjoyed it there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
hello my friend our best regards. thank you for sharing ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks for visiting, real nice of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
Beautiful hike Alan. Those flowers lining the trail were fabulous. Cool to learn about the legend too. Looked like a great hike with awesome views. Have a wonderful day.
Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate you stopping by. A real nice area anytime but made even more special when the bluebells are out, sure wish they would sat out longer than they do. Cheers Alan
What a gorgeous place. The scenery is just breathtaking! We watched you in our tv tonight 🙂 Thank you for sharing a beautiful piece of your world with us! And……no more falling! Have a blessed week!
Yes, I know and I had another fall last week onto my camera breaking the connection from my power grip to my GoPro, lucky the camera is okay but not the grip, dam! Thanks for watching, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Oh no, that’s not good. I’m sorry to hear that happened. I hope you didn’t get hurt. Take good care!! 🙏🏼
Wow Alan 😍😍 those blue bells are amazing actually really lovely to see them out in the open and all up the hill side like that and not in a forest, yep if there was a competition for best bluebell location found, it goes to you for sure, there has been some very lovely ones but this is my favourite! Great viewing once again on the big tv and Saturday night alongside Ant & Dec👍👏🎉🥂🤭 this was a lovely walk and you were right to cut it short with all your upcoming adventures with fellow UA-camrs! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! J xx ❤️👍
Thanks very much for watching Jill and so pleased I did cut it short as the next one turned out to be 13.25 miles and four 3K summits, I was bushed when I got back to the car I can tell you. Just got back from Edinburgh late last night so getting caught up, cheers Alan
Wow! Those bluebells were absolutely stunning!🥰. Never heard of this spot but we must visit. Amazing to see them out on the open fell side like that, looked like a beautiful painting😍💜. You had good weather for a walk, it looked like a challenging one! That's very cool being recognised, we can't believe one guy said he wasn't keen, cheeky!🙈🤣. No accounting for some peoples taste anyway, we love your videos!🤩👊 Enjoyed coming along in the beautiful Lakes area always, we really must get up there again soon. Have a great week, Shell and Pete
First time I have actually caught them to be honest, previously I have been too early or too late, but real pleased that I caught them this time, what an amazing sight they were. I know it was a weekend but I was there at 07.50 and only just got the last parking space there, they are so popular. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Always watch your videos till the end Al. Your videography is excellent it’s like going on an adventure when you don’t have the time to go yourself. 👍👍
Thanks very much for watching and I appreciate your kind words. One day I will not be able to do these hikes, so I will sit back then and be able to enjoy them again all over, cheers Alan
Wow Alan. The bluebells in the hidden valley are beautiful. But the views as you made the summits are just awesome. I love your enthusiasm for getting out there. We have said we will try and do more walks this year as I struggle a bit physically for various reasons. But watching videos like yours is so inspirational and makes me determined to push myself ,ore and get some proper walks in. Great that you met folks that had seen your videos. Just shows the power of YT. Enjoyed this walk mate. Catch you on the next one. Cheers 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶🏼♀️. Watto
Good of you to watch and I appreciate your kind words. It's hard battering age, bad knees and being overweight, all of which apply to me but I get such a buzz from being out and making a summit, everything fades into the background - well, until I get home that is lol! Take care, cheers Alan
Wow what a story in the beginning of the video about the blood of the French creating bluebells! But I must say they are truly a magnificent sight to see. What a beautiful day to go hiking and the views were just amazing! It's cool when you get recognized from your UA-cam videos on the trail. Awesome hike Alan and thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much for watching Eric and this was a real nice hike, made even better with all the bluebells out, just wished they stopped out a bit longer. Cheers Alan
Another awesome video of beautiful and breathtaking scenery brother! Thanks for taking us along. Have a blessed day.
Hey, thanks very much for watching Nikki and your very kind words, something I value. Take care and have a fantastic weekend, cheers Alan
What a beautiful area. Looks like something out of a painting. Beautiful colors throughout the mountains. Really cool 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much 😀, real good of you to stop by and a real nice days hiking, two summits I had never been to before, cheers Alan
Watched this last night, what a start the view with those bluebells was simply stunning, helped by loads of french blood, loved the story too alan.nice to meet fans, watched katys new one last night too ,and loved it.the views were simply stunning alan, and good luck in 4 days thoo hubys says your the terminator so you dont need luck debs xx
Thanks very much for watching Debs and we just got back last last night from a few brilliant days in Edinburgh, really enjoyed it but when we got back to the car from the train station I had a flat tyre - dam! Take care, cheers ALan
Hi Alan. Lovely video as usual. I didn't know that story about the bluebells so I've learnt something there. They looked terrific in the video too, really pretty. I love that view of Crummock Water and Buttermere from Rannerdale knotts. I could sit there ages. If you were thinking of coming down from Grasmoor you've done yourself a favour in aborting your mission. It's a long steep slog up with lots of loose scree. I thought at the time, blimey I'm glad I'm not coming down! Thanks for posting. It's always a pleasure to watch. Cheers
Thanks very much for watching David and I intend to go Grassmore and a couple of others from Braithwaite, looks a lot more hiker friendly, which suits me down to the ground. First time to the top of Rannerdale Knotts and you called it, what a brilliant view. Cheers Alan
Another lovely video. Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Nicola, real nice of you to take the time to watch and leave a comment, real nice of you and very much appreciated. Sorry for the late response but just back from a few days in Edinburgh, take care, cheers Alan
A great trip, excellent views. You were lucky to see so few folk about... the Bluebells can be mobbed.
I was on Rannerdale Knott's on Friday!
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers Alistair 👍
It was about 07.50 I got got parked up Alistair and I got the last parking space, which surprised me. It was not too bad in the morning but when I can back in the afternoon it was jam packed with people. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
The blue bells were beautiful... Great story of the blue bells. It looked to be a great day to be out indeed..
Thanks for stopping by Max and I love bluebell time, first time I have managed to catch them there mind, normally too early or too late lol, cheers Alan
The view is like a beautiful picture. I'm envious of you because you go to very beautiful places. Fantastic weather, too.
Thank you so much for watching and the colour of those bluebells was pure joy to see, what an amazing sight it was. I will defiantly go back there again next year, cheers Alan
Lovely relaxed walk with some fantastic scenery and we can see how much you enjoy your hikes
Thanks very much for watching Simon, such a nice walk and such great views, especially in bluebell season, cheers Alan
Oh Wow Alan !!!! Such beauty to behold 😍 and interesting history !!!
I love bluebell’s but I had NEVER imagined seeing such a sea of them.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Woo Whooo on the Summit 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Such beautiful country side there
😂🤣😂 2 minutes later that theory out the window 🤣🤣🤣. Been there done that Brother
Looking forward to seeing what you got coming ahead. Have fun with those Legends 😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Have a blessed weekend and week ahead ❤️🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻🤗
Thank you so much for your kind words Donna and I appreciate you stopping by. I love the bluebells too and to see so many all over the Fell was a blessing indeed. Take care, cheers Alan

Thanks, you too! Real good of you to watch Judy and I hope you are enjoining a fine week, cheers Alan
Hi and thanks, Alan METALMAN - Outdoors for sharing. Wowowow, lit looks very steep uphill, but bluebell carpets are everywhere@0:37. Like dry stone walls on the left@3:07. This is a surprise I didn't expect to see the lake(?) behind you. Spectacular@5:25! Very informative and really enjoyed the historical facts. Well done. 😎
Thanks for watching, real nice of you and the first time I have ever done this walk but really enjoyed it, especially with all the bluebells out. They only last a few weeks, so you have to time it just right and so pleased I did, they were such a beautiful sight. Take care, cheers Alan
So cool movie💕 Fantastic♪🌼 Have a nice day♪✨

Thanks very much for watching Mark, cheers Alan
Just in, Will be watching this on the big screen soon! So excited to have a vid from you on a Saturday. My night has just got even better! ♥️
Hope you enjoy it :o)
Hi Alan I loved bluebell Valley and the history dating back to 1066 when the Normans invaded. It was a'i pretty there with the mountains as a backdrop. The bridge over the water looked beautiful and so did the lake behind you on the first summit, that was stunning. I love the stories that you tell and how you're so honest and not afraid to be. Loved the one about giving that woman advice about how to get down the mountain by walking slowly and then you fell 😄 you're so funny. Brilliant, thank you . Have a good evening :) ~ Anna
Thanks very much for watching Anna and it was a real nice day, although dull and cloudy on the way up, I actually got sunburnt on the way down lol. With me, what you see is what you get, not everyone's cup of tea I know but one thing for sure, I will never change. Have a great weekend, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Love it , you mustn't change 😃👍
Nice video again Alan. Special place that when the bluebells are out. Well done on the decision, that climb up whiteless pike really is a punisher.
To true and I did 4 summits and just over 13 miles 4 days later, so pleased there was still something in the tank lol. Thanks for watching, cheers Alan
Very colourful video, enjoyed the personal stories and also the story of the history of the place. You becoming a celebrity now, getting recognised!
So nice of you to watch and I appreciate your kind words. A real good day out, made even better with the bluebells all being out too, cheers Alan
its a beautiful and peaceful place around thanks for sharing
Thanks for visiting, real good of you and a real fun hike out with the two girls, I really enjoyed it, cheers Alan
Rannerdale Knotts is a favorite especially when the bluebells are out Alan. It must be nice to be recognized when you're out, fame at last!😁 Good luck on your next one with Eddie👍
First time I have caught them Anthony but real pleased I did, what a sight they were! Yes, had a 13.25 mile with Eddie up to Pillar and 3 other summits, that was a tough day mind. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
That blue bell valley is one if the most stunning places I've ever seen and it's my first time to see it or even hear about it, so it does seem a real secret. The rest of the views were also outstanding, I definitely need to visit one day. Great video, have a great Sunday cheers from barnyz 👍👍👍
I hope you do get to see them as they are a sight to behold indeed. I am normally too early or too late, so real pleased I caught them this year. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Well I like your videos. The first one I watched was your Red Pike walk. It made me laugh because I could relate to a lot of your comments. Some great colours from that camera on this walk and the bluebells looked fabulous in the sun. And no harm turning back, I've done it myself once or twice. I always say the hills will still be there when you return next time. Cheers, Paul
Thanks very much for watching and your kind words, yep real pleased I turned back when I did as I did 13.25 miles 4 days later with friends, so pleased I had left plenty in the tank. I will be hitting Grassmore in the very near future but from the Braithwaite side, cheers Alan
Great video my friend big 👍
Appreciate that John! Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Hi Alan first time i have seen the bluebells in the secret valley dont they look spectacular, loved the story as well, Great views as always in the lakes, sounds like your fame as got you your critics as well in cumbria, o well keep doing what your doing and enjoy it cheers nigel
Haha, yep, I know I am not everyone's cup of tea but that's life I suppose lol! The bluebells were so worth it mind, what an amazing sight they were, already booked in for next year too. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Always a full view my brother. Amazing views and beautiful country it always fun to get out on a long hike. I see your liking the Gopro hero 10. Stay safe my brother and
Cheers Mike and Susan
Thanks for watching Mike and loving the Hero 10, real pleased with it and looking forward to filming a lot more with it. Cheers Alan
Rannerdale is a great fell for relative ease and cracking views(I see the bluebells are fenced off now, stops idiots trampling through them)......must have been a real pleasure to have the summit to yourself Alan. Bit of a slog up to Whiteless Pike mate, more great views from there as well.......... cant wait to get back out there in June for our hols........great stuff Alan.......ATB....Stu/Wendy......👍👌😎........hello to the Mrs.
Thanks for watching Stu and yeah, shame about the fencing off but like you say, there will always be somebody wanting a photo in the middle of them. Aye that was a canny pull up Whiteless Pike mind and pleased I left the other two for another day, as I had a monster 13.25 mile hike 4 days later. Take care both and enjoy ya hols, cheers Alan
I like your videos.
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, something I really appreciate. Real pleased I did turn back on this one as I did a 13.25 mile hike 4 days later, so nice there was still something left in the tank, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Not stalking you, I just enjoy your videos. Travelled 2hrs 40 mins from home. Got here at 8.30am and had the whole place to myself. Bluebells were out but many still to Bloom. A fabulous walk. Thank you
Haha, no problem with that Julie and funny enough I was thinking of asking my granddaughter if she fancied doing Rannerdale Knotts this Saturday, so was wondering if the bluebells are fully out yet. When I did this last year they were just starting to go over, I can never seem to time it right. Yeah, it's a 2 hour drive for me to get to Buttermere and I like to be there at 08.00 at the latest for a space there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN was a 2hr 40 min drive. There out but not in abundance. That didn't bother me it was still. Pretty and am sure when in full Bloom they will be stunning. Had the whole valley to myself. I tend to walk during the week when it's quiet and can park!
@@Muddipaws1308 - Thanks for the info, I will maybe leave it till next week for the bluebells and do something else on Saturday :o)
Such a great place to visit . Enjoy watching your awesome video 😍
Thanks very much for watching and talking the time to leave a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
We did Rannerdale this time last year, beautiful walk. 👍
First time for me and been wanting to do it for years, always seem to miss out, so real pleased I hit on lucky this year, what a brilliant sight those bluebells were. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Looks like such a beautiful and peaceful spot :D
When those bluebells are out it is breath talking down there, shame they do not last longer than they do. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Loved it Alan!
Thanks Del, thats good of you buddy, cheers Alan
Great video pal! I’ll It looked a tough one that. Still fab mate, classes always.
I was blowing bit time when I got to the top lol but the sun had come out and it was real hot, so hot I actual got sunburnt on the way down. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. That's got to be one of the prettiest routes you've done. Absolutely stunning from start to finish! Definitely one to add to my list👍 All the best and take care 👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it Des and thank you very much for watching. First time up both summits for me and really enjoyed them both. With the bluebells out, it made it a real specially walk, cheers Alan
That sun really started to come out toward the end. Smart choice not pushing yourself too hard - especially since you have some upcoming hikes that may be a tad hard. Great mix of colors along this walk.
I was so pleased I did that, as 3 days later I did a 13.5 mile real tough hike with friends. Still enjoyed the day on this hike and the others will be waiting for me on another day. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Very jealous that you live close to all these amazing areas!
Lucky I know but still a 2 hour drive to get there, so I envy my friends who actually live in the lakes. Real nice day out and a 4 hour round trip was well worth it for me. Thanks very much for watching Beth, cheers Alan
Those blue bells are stunning!!
And thank you for showing me route up, this is one I've had on the list but I'm sure on someone's video it said there was a steep scramble and it got me worried! But that looks very doable!
🤣 Ee Alan, I had to chuckle about the steps, cos Joe says stuff to me like that all the time and either I end up nacking myself or he does 🤣
Have to say I'm like a mobile tuck shop when I go out and just try and feed everyone... I'm pretty sure its like a Northern thing. Take more food in case of feeding other people!! And so what if you only did the one. You know your body more than anyone, and it's important to listen to it.
Thanks again for a fab video, and can't wait for the next one ☺️
Do it the same way I went up Dee and then come back the same way, it's a real nice steady walk up and the only bit of rock you need to get over was not bad at all to be honest. You can go up or descend from the opposite side to the route I took but that is steep, so my way would be much better for you. The bluebells were amazing but I went on a Saturday morning and despite parking at 08.00 I got the last space in the small car park there. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
beautiful very nice
Thank you, very nice of you to stop by, appreciate it, cheers Alan
Alan, really loving the bluebells!!! They're all over indeed. Good time of the year to really roll out there. Thanks for this Alan.
It was real nice to catch them out, previously I have missed them there but ended up being a great day out. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Thats a shame about your lass mind and my mate is suffering with his foot too, cannot walk more than half a mile and he is normally one hell of a hiker. Thanks for watching and the very best wishes to her, cheers Alan
1:00 I love these purple flowers ..... 11:03 Sometimes my dog pull's that but then he gets the BOOT out the door for the night without any din din.

Great video as usual Alan and I did watch it all. Love the bluebells and the history. Nice to hear about people recognising you, that means your videos are loved and enjoyed by many. As a fitness walk it worked a treat as you were strong up Pillar and Steeple. When I asked about doing Haycock you were very definite about doing it. Andrea's joints have just started to move!! Hope the weather is good to us next week, regards Ashley and Andrea
Glad you enjoyed it and I rally enjoyed the day but pleased I left plenty in the tank for last Thursday lol. I was surprised at how well I was on Friday morning but I was running about after a 2 year old all day, which kept me from seizing up I guess. Thanks very much for watching and fingers crossed it improves for next weeks walk, cheers Alan
Adventureous hike bro , nice valley and weather, if im there my air will be gone in so much puffing but this is good for health , see yah in my vide0s, stay safe!!
Thanks very much for stopping by and dropping a comment, real good of you and very much appreciated, cheers Alan
I think I may do this one at some point, I always liked the look of Grasmoor
Me too but it looks a steep up or down from this side, so I will do it from Braithwaite at some pint in the next month or so, too tired last weekend and had a mammoth 13 mile walk planned 4 days later, so pleased I decided to leave it. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Love the bluebells! I’ll have to visit there sometime. Good video Alan 👍
I have been meaning to catch them for years but always too early or too late, so real pleased I finally caught them, real nice as well. Appreciate you stopping by buddy, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN yeah I find it’s always the back end of may they are mainly out. I meant to go out this year but I’m snowed under with jobs
Morning mate. Loved this vid, the little bit of history at the start was fascinating, red pike was my biggest ever mistake on the fells … had my little girl with me and tried doing a bit to much and ended up coming down off high stile in the dark … let’s just say the mrs wasn’t happy with me
So looking forward to seeing you Eddie and Ashley
Looked like a steep one upto the last summit mate, and a wise decision ti turn back, a couple of times I wish I had, but I think that comes with experience …. “ great video “ 😉 Alan and catch you on the next one 🥾🏔❤️
I am never bothered about turning back and I knew I had a tough one planed with the lads, which turned out to be 13.25 miles and one real long day, so real pleased I had something left in the tank. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Have you put a LUT on this Alan? the colours are quite literally POPPING. Extraordinary.
No filter but a tweak to improve the quality in PowerDirector, sometimes it can be too much if you are not careful. Thanks for watching Lee, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Ah right. I use Powerdirector too and I'm familiar with that section.
Lovely video, the bluebells are so beautiful. What a view from the top too.
I find it more difficult walking downhill, knees kill me and if I loose Confidence, I don't care I go down on my ass. Eddie does fantastic videos too.
Doing Dragons Back tomorrow, week before I did Buckden Pike god that was a slog, but nice pub at the bottom! All training for macmillan mighty hike next month.
Thanks for watching Julie and I was out with Eddie on Thursday, almost 13 miles up to Pillar and 3 other summits, my knees are still not talking to me after two days! I dislike coming down too, my legs start to stiffen up and I have had a few falls too. Good luck with your hike and take care, cheers Alan
Mantap ka.. semoga Kaka.. sukses selalu..
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, very much appreciated, cheers Alan
Great video Alan . It's a beautiful valley even with no bluebells. I came down that way after doing Grasmoor and friends.
It looked real steep off Grassmore, as I had my car parked almost at the base of it. Think I will do it from Braithwaite next time, as there is a couple that side I still need to do. Thanks very much for watching Ian, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN I went up Lad Hows it's steep but not as bad as it looks .
‘Can so relate these days to that ‘huffing and puffing’ going uphill Alan. 😊 Well done for keeping going and looks like you managed Pillar a few days later which is a big achievement anyway 👍🏻No mention of a pint afterwards this time but hope you succumbed somewhere. 😊 Cheers atb
Thanks for watching and yes, Pillar and 3 other summits 4 days later, which ended up being 13.25 miles, so pleased I did not push to hard on this hike lol. Take care, cheers Alan
Alan M. You need to get up Grasmoor one day. Fantastic views up there! 👍
It will happen Dave and very soon my friend too, just needed to keep a bit in the tank, as I knew I had a big hike with friends in 4 days time, which turned out to be 13.25 miles and four 3K summits, so pleased I turned around when I did. Real good of you to watch and comment, appreciate it, cheers Alan

Amanda and me sen will be around Crummockwater in September. 19th to the 23rd to be accurate. Actually staying at Mosser. If you're around we'd love to share some time with your goodself. 😎 👍
Wow nice
Thanks very much for watching and leaving a comment, appreciate it, cheers Alan
I liked the story about the French. But don't understand how red blood turns into blue bells! 🤔
Great hike! Have a good evening! Kaat
That is a very good point but good points must not spoil a good story lol! They were an amazing sight to see I must say, first time I have seen them down there but so worth it. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
great videos
Glad you like them! Thanks for visiting, real good of you to watch and leave a comment, very much appreciated, cheers Alan
What a sea of bluebells that was, most I've ever seen in one spot, why would someone go out of their way to tell you your videos are not for them 🤔 if you have nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all that's what my dear Nan used to say.
Great video im getting closer to the lakes, 13th of June I will be there, if I do bump into you on the fells you can expect a loving bearhug lol.
My thoughts exactly but I just laughed it off, as I do most things to be honest. I was blown away by those bluebells, first time I have managed to catch them there but man what a sight they were, I have already put the date in my dairy for next year. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
Hmm, blood soaked bluebells?! Well they are beautiful regardless of what their choice of beverage is! Oh! "Two minutes later I slipped and fell" Too funny!!! 😆
Haha, thanks very much for watching, real good of you and yes, true story as well lol! Cheers Alan
Cracking views Alan, the Bluebells were looking stunning. Love the history lesson. Up Lad Hows to Grasmoor next! Great stuff. Cheers. Eddie.
I never got as far as Grassmore but will do it and a couple of others from Braithwaite in the next couple of weeks. Pity Newcastle had not been relegated, it would have been nice to see the Derby again next year. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN Ha, think it will be a few years yet for the derby game!
Nice one Alan, hard graft going up them 👏, looks a great place to hike around, views of the 2 lakes are brilliant, me and the son were up the other end of Buttermere this weekend for a camp, them bluebell fields look class, not sure what settings you have on ur gopro but they really stand out against the other fields, look forward to your upcoming videos with the other guys, atb Mick 👍
I think they stood out better in the morning due to it being overcast and the afternoon in the full sun they did not look as good, also I got sunburnt on the way back lol, crazy weather! Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
