I lived in Toronto in 1977. We loved to go to the island in the summer! It was a lot less crowded then and there was no nude beach but it seems Canada is getting more easy going with things like that! I took some amazing shots of the city from the island. The sunsets are so beautiful with the city silhouette in the distance. Love Toronto! Thanks for taking us on a walk!
As a Torontonian, I love visiting Toronto Island in the summer. It's an oasis that's only a ferry ride away from the city. I enjoy watching your videos of Toronto and asian countries, like Thailand.
Back in the early '80's Centre Island and Ontario Place was our elementary school end of year trip location. Fun times. Now I don't care to go anywhere near downtown Toronto. Nothing beats cottage country in the Haliburton / Muskoka region.
Hello Alina! 😁🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a fantastic day! This is really a marvelous super excellent video! 😄👍❤️👏📹🇨🇦🏖☀️🐠🥇💯💫✨🌟 Wow! Toronto Islands looks so absolutely amazing! Also the view of the beach and the ocean is marvelous! Even the Centreville amusement Park looks really cool! I would definitely like to visit the Toronto Islands one day. It’s really a magnificent place! Thank you so much Alina to share with us this fantastic amazing video. You are the best and greatest world traveler adventurer! 😃👍👏🌎✈️📹🥇💯🏆💫🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful excellent glorious blessed day. 😊🙏❤️👋🇨🇦👍✨🌟
Thank you for sharing this, Alina. I live in southern New Jersey, so I am used to seeing thousands of Canadian folks visit my state. I would love to visit Canada during the summer, so I'll keep these islands on my list to visit. What I love the most about visiting Canada is the air is so clean and clear, also the people are kind.
Come on up, James. You will love Toronto-in the summer, tho. NJ isn't that far. I have a family in New Jersey and have taken the drive a few times. In stating that: it's a lovely scenic drive in both directions. Visit Niagara Falls and *Niagara on the Lake* on the way up.
Toronto Island Park is one of those places in Toronto that a lot of tourists miss. A hidden gem and a great place just to chill out away from downtown. There is something for everyone, including nudists. Harriet and I have been. Thank you for the fond memories of it. Sending you much love❤❤ from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
I love the islands. Had friends that I went to school with whose parents owned a summer home on Ward's Island. There are also residents on Algonquin Island. We spent many weekends on the island. The metro parks dept owns the land and the residents lease it (99 years). Homes can only be passed on to a spouse or child of the current owner. If it must be sold, it must be sold to someone on the waiting list (500 max) and must be sold at the construction value of the home. So, much cheaper to purchase than elsewhere in the city; but, only 1 or 2 are sold a year. It is also a carless neighbouthood. When I worked downtown, we would walk to the docks and take the ferry over to Centre Island for lunch. It was a nice mid day break. If anyone in our office had to go to Ottawa on business, they would fly out of Billy Bishop airport on the island rather than travelling to Pearson. Having an airport downtown is very convenient.
I've toured around the Toronto Islands on a dinner cruise about 12 years ago - haven't actually been on the Island. Though I've flown out of the Billy Bishop airport on the Island - took a Porter flight to Sudbury. The comment @6:40 about it being legal to go topless - the movement started here in Guelph over 30 years ago by Gwen Jacobs (U of Guelph student) - it made national news at the time. That was the first time I've seen Disc Golf actually played. The Golf course I play at Vic Valleys (Guelph) is set up for it though I've yet to see anyone playing it.
The Toronto Islands are one of my favourite places in the world. I try to explore the lesser known and visited Islands like Snake Island and (the Island with the best views of the Skyline in my opinion) Algonquin Island. Travel tip..... take the water taxi over and you can jump on the Ferry (for free) on the way back. For some reason they only check the tickets on the Toronto side (not the Island side). One other tip, if you take your bike avoid Centre Island (very crowded). Unless you really want to visit the Amusement park. I usually catch the ferry to Ward's or Hanlan's Point. And my final recommendation is to go to Alexandros for greek fries located just outside the exit of the Hanlan's Point (flatbed) Ferry on Queens Quay. You won't be disappointed. I really enjoy your videos Alina.
Thanks fit the great video Alina! The Island(s) are really neat. I was surprised to see that some people live out there. Looking forward to your next video!
I remember various companies arriving after work to challenge each other in ball games with a few refreshments. Yonks ago that was but very relaxing time.
Saw the thumbnail of this video, "oh you look..." 😅 then I looked at the title, oh wow! :)) Never been to Toronto, so it's good to get to know these different neighborhoods. 👍
Trips to the island are always fun. Before there was the nude beach at Hanlan's Point, there used to be a trout pond for fishing. When I was a boy I used to take the bus early down to the docks and then the ferry to Hanlan's Point.
TI was a nice place to visit, went their a few times, didn't realize they had a birthday suite beach though, I don't get that (personally), they have one of those over here at UBC Beach (or did), still don't get it (again, personally speaking). When I was taking my flight training one of my flight instructors got me to fly low over a Birthday Suite beach around the Victoria area, didn't realize it until I saw him smiling then I banked the plane to see what he was smiling at and all I could see were Nuddies running for the bushes, Yeh, crazy times. Well made video Alina, thanks for the memories. :)
Nice place, I lived in Windsor for 20 years and visited Toronto many times, but didn't know about the Islands. On another note, you guys make a cute couple...❤
Hi Alina Great video beautiful place if I ever get the opportunity to visit Toronto, Toronto Island will definitely be on my list. Are you able to include Toronto Tower in one of you videos of Toronto Cheers
G-day Alina I have a Sister that has lived in Toranto your friend just mentioned Hamilton around there somewhere she had lived there since the seventies so quite a while thanks for the video 🌹xx : )🫶❤
Toronto Islands is one of my favorite spots to visit (alongside Tommy Thompson Park), especially for the EPIC sunsets! I surprisingly enjoyed visiting in the winter months, when it was quite. The ferry ride crashing through icy waters was terrifying and fun at the same time 😅
Yes I remember in the 90's it became permissible to go topless in Toronto but since then no one was interested to do it 😀but it was a big issue in 1991 then became legal in 1996
Very salacious thumbnail Alina. Having seen the esteemed Mr. Hildebrant's name pop up in multiple comment sections of your lives, he is guesting in a lot of video's in your extended Toronto sojourn. It's too bad he's so camera shy. I was surprised that the residences on Wards Island looked 1950's cottage style rather than Matha's Vineyard McMansions style homes. I'm sure I've heard of Toronto Islands, but this was my first time seeing them that I recall. It is obvious why it's a popular three season destination. I'm sure the crowds diminish in December and January. Nice video, as always.
haha my marketing skills have definitely improved! Other than being one of my closest friends, Ryan actually has a background in improv so he is definitely one of the easiest people to film with.
Never been to Toronto but it is on the bucket list for sure. Having grown up in Michigan with very similar weather, the summers in the area are beautiful. Everything is so green, the lakes are cool, weather is not too hot though it gets a little humid sometimes, but summers are great in the area. Really enjoyed the video!
Awkwardly worked as a busboy at the RCYC there for a short stint one summer. They had their own ferry service to their own private grounds on the Islands. IIRC, had to walk down Parliament to the lake after getting off the King streetcar to board it. Strangely, I can't even recall now what the boat looked like that took us across the lake.
Fun video, keep trying your frisbee golf will improve. Was the lake fresh water or salt? What was the water temperature? Does it freeze how much and thick? What was the temperature there? It’s nice to see you smile!!!
Toronto used to be my go-to-city when I was living in Cleveland. The islands are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Any plans to visit Moscow? I'd like to go back to the city I lived when in my youth. I know is kind of difficult at this time
You actually went to Hanlans "Don't" Point...?! 🤣🐍🐍🐍 My favourite part of visiting Toronto Islands is bringing my bike and riding around the small paths and admiring the little cottage like homes on that little hamlet(?). Those people are so lucky. It's a world of its own. P.S - Ryan, I wish I had a boat too. I feel ya, bro.
@@AlinaMcleod -- It's just my quirky way of describing the nude beach Hanlan's Point for my own amusement. I add the "Don't" because that's what one should not do while at a nude beach.😂
Hi Alina, it doesn't get better than the ocean & you. A walk on the beach hand in hand with you fills my soul with love. You are the seashell that fills my heart with joy. The ocean kisses the shoreline with every wave just like your love kisses my soul. You are a wonderful person & just perfect yet so down to earth.

I think there are flights from New Jersey to Billy Bishop Airport which is on the Toronto Islands. Just a ferry ride away from downtown Toronto.

That's funny because i just read yesterday in reddit about SA happening there. So be careful people and don't walk there at night especially.
That's terrible to hear. Yeah I wouldn't really want to be on Toronto Island solo at night.

What are some of the free disc golf courses Ryan recommend around Toronto?
They're all free! Centennial Park and White Spruce Park are my favorite in the GTA. Marilyn Bell Park is an excellent course for beginners!
Thank you for the recommendations. Will try to hit them up once I get to Toronto.
Which would you consider the best store in GTA?
Sadly there aren't really any stores in the GTA. You gotta drive an hour to Brantford to visit True North. Or order online.@@captainamazing-ex9bf
Almost first !
