Phu's knowledge is next level
Perfect explanation. I always wondered what the difference was. 👍🏽
🙏🏻🤝
Phu is always getting picked on he can’t make a joke he’s always getting criticized…. Max is awesome
Cog block. Lol. Phu looked stressed trying to make sure he says cassette correct. Cool adapter
Here in Philippines there are 12t freewheel sprocket available that you can buy the cheapest one is about $$5=₱250, the cassette cost about $18 but still I can't afford because I'm broke asf🤣 BTW happy new year guys!!
I think it's actually a 13 th that's that's smallest made.n
Unless you guys have something we never had. Yeah 13 is smallest freewheel and then you get into 2 piece drivers with a thread on cog. Those go to as low as 11th. And as large as 16.
One piece drivers come in sizes 8 to 11 maybe larger.
@@bmxriderforlife1234 correct 13T is the smallest gear. Odesey is looking at going smaller. But smaller is only better on a large rim
@@tugboat8475 we have smaller already for bmx. But not freewheels. Odyssey isn't going to make freewheels and they stopped making 12 tooth ones because nobody uses them anymore.
And. On big wheels smaller sprockets matter less. I don't think you know what you're talking bout.
@@bmxriderforlife1234 what ever, go back and degrease your chain
Awesome description of the various components encompassing a traditional hub and a free style hub, thanks.
Happy new year everybody...🥳🥳🥳
Happy new year
Happy new year guys 😎🤘
Happy New Years!
Fuck I’m gonna stop by soon. The incycle by my house has nothing in stock. You guys look loaded! See you soon fellas
Hellya!
I'm building a Skyway TA retro can you advice me and tell me what I should use a cassette or freewheel? For freestyle flat, fakies etc love your videos love from Australia 🇦🇺.
My bmx has a flip flop freewheel which on the main drive it has a freewhel cogs and the other side has a fixed gear which is the thing i like more than an actual cassette 🙏
It’s always great watching your videos Phu! Love all the info. you provide! Keep the videos coming! I’m still waiting for the release of the 87 with modern parts btw, hope to see it soon.
I've got an ironhorse with a flipflop! Wahoo! But I love my rl540.
Happy Merry New Years to all...Thanks for all the Vids this year Alf.
Is there a way to use that universal driver on a freecoaster, to run a 16 tooth cog? I want to run a 16 tooth cog on a BSD Revolution freecoaster hub.
Well now I know that I can run a cassette on my dirt bmx instead of a freewheel! I wasn’t sure because I have a 39t sprocket on my bmx for dirt pump tracks for maximum speed per pedal rotation and I knew that was far too big to put on a 9t cassette driver but now I know how to modify one to make it a bigger cassette driver ! So I can disassemble the hub now that I know how and install a bigger cog and run my 39t sprocket if I wanted ! Sweeet I was thinking about going 9/28t but I think the big dinner plate sprocket looks and performs amazing
Missing the epic vids
Literally just learned this the hard way
Thank you for information and have a great day
Awsome videos trully. No one rxplains this. NO ONE else
Where’s this shop at?
That HARO BIKES seat in the background still available??
Can you find a 9 Thoth back hub that is threaded for disk brakes those would be cool if Thay came wit mounts for the brake caliper
Hub question? Can I use a flip flop hub to set up disk brakes on a bmx?
If the flip flip hub has the attachment for the disc brakes, then yes
Happy New Year 🎆
Where are you guys at??? No more vids??
Great video!!
💜👊🏻
How come I have never find a 14T freewheel. Bike shop told me they don't make it
How do you find a cog driver?
Hey love the channel got a btr 2 female rear hub has play would it be the bearings same sound when spinning
Thanks for fitting one last video in for 2021 !! Great as always !! Happy new year 🥳
I have an e-bike with an electric rear hub motor, and a 11-32 cassette I think (single at the front). Is it possible to change the cassette to a silent one? I assume the pawls are in the middle spinning bearing part of the cassette, nothing to do with the electric rear hub? Excuse my terminology by the way, I’m familiar with bikes but some terminologies confuse the hell out of me. Thanks
Nice video, but does 3pawls has difference in performance against 4 to 6pawls cassette
Does epic bmx have a website that i can order?
So where does the free coaster sit in this group of Hubs?
Now do free coasters
COG blocker lmao!
Hey buddy a cool vidéo of stem maybe ?. Great vidéo Epic is a dream shop 🙌🙌
You remind me of my buddy from guam
Are all freewheels the same size thread wise
You didn't talk about the difference in their functions.. about how they engage different etc...
Where's your shop at?

best videos 🤞, btw i want a hub 😂
Hellya!!
When I had a profile mini hub I always had a One piece driver 9T the cog carrier one comes loose and you get wobbly cogs same on the odyssey hazard Cassette it had a cog carrier aswell when it come out and that one come loose to that’s why I always gone One piece driver not rode a freewheel hub for years back when I had a Hoffman gack hub back in 93 👍🚲💨
Hello, I just got a new 26" Eddie fiola ,formerpro dirt jump bike,. And need a good strong new rear wheel built , can you suggest a good one? For like under $300. Bucks? Thank you.🤪
Can you convert the free coaster hub by removing the cog and replacing it with a louder one such as in a freewheel (I.e. White Industries, Hornet, etc.)?
I got 36T / 16T ,want to go up on my freewheel to 17T ..will it feel easier to pedal ? I don’t want it to be to easy just want it to feel a tad bit smoother is a 17T good for my situation?
I have a questio, can you convert a mtb hub to bmx hub? will the bmx hub driver fits on the mtb hub?
Is there a reason points if engagement wasn’t mentioned? When it comes to engagement performance wouldn’t the free wheel be better than the built in cassette?
cassete better technology, will always be better
Where is this shop located? All the shops where i live are bootleg

where is this bike shop ?
Ayo phu phu you got a video on gyros installation and adjustments ???

bought my Sunday high c from this shop. also got a great deal👌
💯💯💯
Did Phu get the hook up from Suavecito yet?
haha nah, i'd rather him buy good stuff
cog blocker!!!😂😂😂😂
Lmao that's a foot thing!!!
Hi alfredo I want an mtb cassette louder hub
What I wanna know is if I can convert a single speed 29 inch wheels to a 10 speed cassette wheel?
no; you have to change the hub axle spacing and the dishing of the wheel.
"Kutt-sett" -Phu Vu
Da goat
The main reason cassette hubs were invented in the first place was to over come a problem that screw on type hubs had.
On screw on hubs the axle is supported at the hub with an amount of axle over hanging to accommodate the sprocket/sprockets, over time, the unsupported part of the axle will inevitable bend, even BMX 14mm axles do over time.
The invention of the cassette hub, simply puts the bearing support at the end of the axle, leaving no over hang of the axle and no bending of the axle over time.👍😊
This. Freewheels are just old tech.
@@rossejera1661 In essence, yes.👍😊
I always figured it was just to be able to run a much smaller front sprocket.
your comment is perfect!
@@cghiotto Thank you.👍😊
My son has autism he is 15 now and refuse to pedal his bicycle smaller bicycle the rear wheel move the pedal bigger bicycle you can stop the pedals while the wheel spin.
Can I convert this so that the pedal turns only when the rear wheel turns ?
Why do race bikes run freewheels if the mini has bigger options for cogs or do they mostly run minis now?
I've been told by a racer. The torque from how hard they pedal would destroy a cassette hub. I don't buy it, but to each their own. I'm glad Profile invented the cassette. I don't miss freewheels.
@@LoneWolfed I know a lot of novice to pro guys that run cassettes and not a single one has bent or broke one. The best part is how quick and easy it is to swap gear ratios with very little down time between moto's to moto or to mains. Plus cogs are super cheap compared to freewheels.
Can I run sealed bearings in either hub ?
yes!
Dicta makes a 12 tooth freewheel
Honestly I'm good with a regular freewheel..
No one likes a clog blocker 😂😂
I'm in CA,.
Uh ??? Old school is the Freewheel ? with the bigger sprockets ? The Cassette is whats on the bikes now ?
Ehh it just depends on the type of riding/bike
@@AlfredoMancuso I used to take apart Coaster brake rims and take the brake shoes out, and it would turn into a sloppy freewheel LOL
Race bike vs. freestyle bike different hub for different purposes.
love your vids... but bro if you have the patients and the right tools you can make anything... i have to correct you on saying at 4:26 -4:30 and i quote " i dont't care who you know knowbodys going to be able to have a machine shop make you a free wheel" a decent machine shop can make anything and i mean anything... sorry bro but on that you were wrong. everything else spot on. and again i love your vids great content.
Guys!
Phu is sorta wrong Alf is sorta right. The less links you have in a Chain the less strong it is and the more wear each link takes. Plus the 8th is so small most chains don't ride on them properly causing further issues.
Larger sprockets means weaker sprockets. But smaller ones means weaker chains.
Wrong Phu. The smallest freewheel you can get is a 13t.
Tell ‘em
@@AlfredoMancuso I know cause my first gearing smaller than 44/16 was 36/13 with an Odyssey freewheel around ‘05.
Yessirrr
Dicta makes a 12t freewheel
@@BerserkerNick damn, when did that come out? I’ve been went to cassette and now freecoaster for awhile now
I want custom wheels for 2022 😈 gsport rims to profile hubs
Ooohh nice choice
