Ive watched all 150 essential ASL videos, and I tested myself with this video ( I would see the word, do the sign, and then see if I got it correct). Surprisingly, I got almost all of them! I started learning ASL about a week ago, and you’ve made it sooo easy. Thank you so much!!
I’m learning sign because when my sister has tics sometimes it gets so bad that she can’t speak, so it would be much easier to communicate through sign I also got an app that’s symbol to speech and yes I know (those apps are mostly for mute or autistic people) but honestly it’s so much easier to communicate with the app, it’s helping a lot. I’m dedicated now to learn sign just in case.
My friend and I are just started learning ASL, and we've learned all of what we know from you! Almost no one at our school knows any ASL so me and my friend are kind of using this as a way to learn sign language and have a "secret" language haha. But seriously...thank you. Also you should do a video on sports and makeup.
I grew up learning ASL (now BASL) and filling in any gaps in my own knowledge and finding the differences between the two languages was so fun! Nice video very quick and easy to follow.
This is incredibly helpful to me! I’m trying to learn ASL and I’ve had trouble finding videos that work well with my ADHD brain. This is fast paced and easy to keep up with! Thank you for this!!😄💖❄️
Hi, my name is Shannon Ramsey. I'm a Job coach for Matthew who is developmentally disabled and cannot write this for himself. Your videos have helped my clients so much. During the pandemic my clients couldn't work so we watched your videos. These individuals are either mostly non-verbal or completely non-verbal. Now they have ASL to use on the job. Your videos have helped our clients and our coaches learn to communicate in a new way and help them have more access to what others take for granted. You need a medal!!!!
Happy to say I’ve watched your beginning signing video series awhile back and I remember 90% of these signs! I hope one day I can make someone’s day easier with my knowledge
You do excellent with teaching ASL. I catch on to ASL quickly, which is why I plan on sticking with learning ASL. I know that it isn't an easy thing, but my mind is so on board with it, and your videos help. I feel that there is a very meaningful reason why I am learning. You never know who you are able to help. Thank you, for sharing your videos.
Thank you for this. My best friend recently lost her hearing and I decided I wanted to surprise her when I see her next ( 2 months ) she was already fluent in asl before she lost her hearing so we’ll be able to communicate.
I've watched a few of your videos but in the last 30 minutes I've watched two of your 150 essentials and just tested myself with this. Those that I had already seen I was able to do as the words came up and then I just followed along with the ones that weren't familiar. Was surprised how many I had retained so far. Will keep going. I am a tutor and have a Spanish speaking family that just learned their 5 year old is deaf so we are learning together while we wait for his IEP to go to a school for the deaf to be approved. I show son and tell parents the words in Spanish. This has been so helpful!
I didn't read the 300+ comments before posting so it's likely someone has already said this. I use these as quiz videos! I try to do the sign between the word appearing and you showing the sign, Meredith. I love all your videos and have fallen in love with ASL because I like your teaching style! Thank you! So excited to learn more and more! Originally I started learning to help my Down Syndrome 1-year-old communicate, but I know that once he starts talking I will keep doing ASL! I *kisses back of hand* LOVE it!!
Thank you for your videos. I am hearing, but have been a welcomed and accepted person in a group that uses ASL. Over the years we lost touch. I always hope to find some of them again. While I hope, I share what I know within reason with my students in hopes of encouraging linguistics and diversity acceptance. I move a lot when I talk and since I started learning ASL many years ago those movements have become more naturally ASL. I have been spotted by an individual who needed help before and it made all of the time spent studying the language worth it. I occasionally come across someone deaf or hard of hearing with a job where they are the only ASL user. This bothers me, so I can’t imagine how difficult it is for that person to not have anyone to talk/sign with at work. If you notice the bus boy doesn’t hear pass them a kind note. Something short and sweet. Example: “Thank you for clearing my mess. Have an amazing day. I appreciate you and your hard work.” We all need a pick me up.
I’m shocked at how many I knew I did them as they were coming next right ahead of you, learned a lot lately thanks to your channel and others! It’s fun to learn this stuff. ASL is awesome

Hi! Im an 8th grader learning sign language here. At my school they give us the option too but if your already taking a year class you cant, so im learning it on my own! Thank you for providing us with things like this!😄
My new math teacher is not deaf but shes been a sing language translator for years, bother her parents were deaf, so she had to learn growing up. And when she saw me sign "Im learning sign" her reaction was wholesome!
Me and my friend wanted to learn ASL 1, because we wanted a way of communicating without people understanding 2, someway to talk during class without getting caught and 3, because we figured it could be a great life skill. During library we always finish early so the teacher lets us go on our school lap tops, and we immediately pull up one of your videos and start learning more. This has been a great experience and I’m so glad to have you to help us along
Thank you for making videos! You really do an amazing job of teaching and easily explaining each sign. I have already learned so much and I only started yesterday!
Thank you so much I am literally 30 years old and didn’t start teaching my kids this I literally have three children a three-year-old seven-year-old and eight-year-old I’m so happy that you did this let’s all take a moment to appreciate you we will all take a little nap just appreciate how much you work for us
I remember buying the American ASL book in HS in 2000 and I only remembered most of the alphabet and morning and night. I’m glad to be picking this up again, it’s so cool to learn. I’m also doing Duolingo for Italian and Spanish 🥰
I am so happy that I get to learn with you I used to learn how to do it with you and when I saw my classmates also learning I knew I had to go back to you to keep on learning
Absolutely wonderful. Please continue creating these videos. They are awesome. Thanks for helping me with my ASL learning journey. (facial expression) 😊
This is actually good I’ve downloaded a ASL translator i wasn’t expecting to actually learn from the ASL translator and I’m sure this is gonna be more helpful :)))
2:48 its so cool to see the sometimes confusing correlations between tge sign and its meaning suddenly become obvious. Especially with the context of the sign for “learn”
I will do this everyday. I’m trying to learn ASL fluently.
Yes, practicing everyday will help you reach your goal.

As someone who has a classmate that is deaf, I seriously want to learn this and communicate with him. So thank you for showing us how to do this :)
Love that you are thinking and learning for someone else.
This is the same reason I learned the alphabet and basic signs in HS
we actually talk to her using writing
This teacher has a beautiful energy about her.
This is PERFECT! Please keep doing these!
We will!!!
Thank you!

So far, I've loved every way you have presented everything to us.
This one was nice in the sense that it knocked off a training wheel or two. :)
Lol keep practicing. You've go this.
I have ALWAYS wanted to learn ALS and now I finally can piece by piece!! Thank you :)

POV:your learning sign language for your crush
My crush is deaf but she doesn't know sign language but I'm still learning it
Oh, I love this so much.
Thanks!
Practicing every day and will be using ASL in every day life to bring awareness and hopefully more people will learn
Using it every day is the best way to learn. We think everyone should learn ASL as well!

That sounds fun 🤣
Have you two kept learning ASL?
I grew up learning ASL (now BASL) and filling in any gaps in my own knowledge and finding the differences between the two languages was so fun! Nice video very quick and easy to follow.
This is so fun to learn, and I progress so quickly
Awesome! Keep practicing.
literally one of the only channels i go to so i can learn ASL. you’ve helped so much, thank you!!
You are so kind.
Yay a channel that doesnt spend 2 minutes on each sign, but instead, 2 seconds!
Maybe I'll learn asl after all
You defiantly can!
I want to do this every day cause I’m trying to become a sign language teacher when I grow up
You totally should! Its such a fun job.
This is incredibly helpful to me! I’m trying to learn ASL and I’ve had trouble finding videos that work well with my ADHD brain. This is fast paced and easy to keep up with! Thank you for this!!😄💖❄️
You are welcome!
Thank you for making this! It’s the perfect recap to practice the other videos you posted.
You're so welcome.
Im doing this because there is a deaf boy in my school and I want to be kind 😊
It's so kind to think of others.
