I moved from Wales to Finland and at one point Suomi (Finnish) was almost obliterated by the Swedish and the Russian occupiers, now, it's spoken by practically every Finn and many foreigners like myself are learning it. Welsh is beautiful and I doff my hat to the OP and her partner, we need more people like them in Wales 💖🏴

I will likely never be fluent in Welsh, due to the distance (and possibly my central US, Texas accent, I won't apologize for it, but sometimes it makes other languages sound robotic or just awkward), but I still heard and understood this song and it was truly beautiful. Better than the English version.
Welsh is thought to be 4000 years old, and one of the oldest languages in Europe. It was the inspiration for JRR Tolkien's Elvish language. There is nothing stopping you from learning it, many Americans of Welsh descent learn welsh and form American-Welsh clubs or societies. Duolingo is a very good place to start to learn welsh, plus online resources, should you decide to do it. pob lwc :)

Now, there is so much focus here on being bilingual (Mexican and Central American Spanish / English) that it's often a requirement for many jobs. This wasn't the case when I was in school or began my career, because everyone around here spoke English. It's still that way here. But the companies that are hiring have locations elsewhere and see Spanish as the future here. So, I'm going to have to decide which language to dedicate myself to learning first. Likely it will be the one that helps my family the best. The other, I will have to wait a little while longer for. 😔
