Thanks for the vid. DOT staking is a pain in the ass :)
did you get it going?

Staking by pool is now live, minimum stake 1 dot. But I prefer hoskynscam cardano hype!😂😂😂😂
The staking process should be simpler and safer. Period.

Thanks MRLABOON I wish I would have seen this video before I staked kusama in July. Very informative!
Fantastic - Polkadot futures is now up running on Binance!
Watch the price tank...

Compared to ZIL and ADA this process is so complicated...I'm okay to say that this is probably meant for people with a better understanding of what they're doing, but still.
Ledger Live let's us choose up to 16 validators, is it advantageous to select all 16? Does it automatically divide my bonded DOT between all 16 or does it use all my DOT on one validator when it's finally chosen to validate?
If at least one of the validators you nominate is elected by the election algorithm to be in the active set, you will nominate them with your entire stake. However, there is a risk of getting no rewards if you nominate very few validator candidates and none of them are chosen. Therefore, it is safer to choose as many trustworthy validators as possible (up to 16 on Polkadot and up to 24 on Kusama).
When you say "risk", is there a risk of losing your staked DOT because of the validators actions? Also, how many validators do you recommend nominating?
no answer yet, suspicious. -_-
this is the most complicated system ive ever seen on crypto. All the more reason I'll choose Cardano over DOT
Staking by pool is now live, minimum to stake 1dot. Yes I prefer hoskynscam cardano hype!😂😂😂😂
How about the average profit, in comparison with for instance Binance is paying 18% for 30 days staking DOT (and it's a very simple process ) ?
Hi Bill, thanks for the excellent video. Can you please let me know if I can CHANGE VALIDATORS after I have nominated a set of validators and if YES, how do I do that, please.
I was only able to see that I can CLEAR NOMINATIONS and the stake remains bonded. Can I start the Nomination process again?
I am staking using Ledger Live & Nano X. Thank you for your anticipated clarification.
Hello- AAL validator here, you can just click add nominations on your stash account and select other validators you want to nominate to earn (stake with) their APY%
Does anyone know what the two sets of numbers mean under the nominator column in the staking-target table? Trying to decide which validators to choose, but not very user-friendly at all.
The staking for dot seems unnecessarily complicated and then your risk of loosing your investment by picking a validator that goes off line to much or some other "bad behavior" makes Dot lower on my list for sure
Awesome vid. Thanks. Is solana staking the same?
Very informal tnx Mr. LABOON/W3F
You guys will have to do simplify staking! IF you want to reach "regular" people. Same with anything dealing with crypto. Regular people are NOT programmers!
Ofc! Some are but mostly no
great video but man where is the cursor? It made is a guessing game to figure out what you were talking about.
Hey ... so i went and nominated a bunch of them with the same name ... and now i check today that only one of them is active out of the idk how ever many you can actually choose ... does that matter ?? Should i switch it up and find more active ones ??
If you stake a low amount (most of us do) there will only be 1 active out of your list. I think you gotta stake tens of thousands of $$ before you get more than 1 active.
Thank you for this video. Much needed!
Good evening I heard about the development of the POLKADOTL currency is there is a marketing of this stray and how can join
If you purchase DOT on Voyager, you get 12% APY. So why would anyone stake ? Is it worth the trouble for an extra 1% ??
If your in the USA you can't stake on any exchange, otherwise I would, this process is just simply ridiculous
I don't like the fact that Zug has so many validator nodes and that there are so few to begin with. I wanted to move all my eth to dot because I thought this was the coin of the future until I realized that this point of centralization is such a weakness. It really has made me rethink whether I want to keep investing in dot.
How many times can a validator change his commission rates, is there a cool down? Don't really like checking day to dag if it changes its commission rates in general.... No notification nothing right?
any idea? if it is better to stake on ledger live or directly on the website? I assume the only difference is that ledger live uses the same account for the stash and controller account, and safety is compromised there???
Thanks for the informative Vid. when i choose a validator, the message (inactive) always comes up on the ledger and this Text : This Validator is elected but is not collecting Rewards on your bonded Assets .
Good afternoon Is there a network marketing project for currency
is the amount you bond, the amount that you stake and thus, the amount you will receive in rewards in connection to that? So if I bond 200 dot, I will be rewarded for that 200 dot? Or is it the case that if I bond 1 dot but have 200 dot in my stash account I will be rewarded for what is in my stash account?
Since past denomination day, why is old dot still shown as a value? It makes me feel like 500 dot turns into 5 old dot if one were to bond.
ua-cam.com/video/7fgFCGArA0c/v-deo.html.
What is the "threshold to get into the Active Validators set"? - thanks
ua-cam.com/video/7fgFCGArA0c/v-deo.html
The link isn’t available anymore. Does anyone have a number or another link to answer this question?
Anyone know this Zug Capital, why they have so many validator ?
some whale who got in early and made huge claims
@@ssharke yeah sounds like swiss based in ZUG ;)
if I stake and then decide to unstake how long is the waiting period to get my DOTs back to my wallet ready to use them again?
28 days
some have 100% commission? why?
It's explained on the video... Watch it again.
ua-cam.com/video/7fgFCGArA0c/v-deo.html
so you need at least 120 DOT to nominate? This is the message i get when trying to nominate
"The bonded amount is less than the minimum threshold of 120.0000 DOT for nominators" Guess i won't be staking any time soon. I don't have $5000 to throw at DOT. There must be a way to make staking harder for DOT?????
Please how do I change validators
I’m staked to a validator and I just seen it says over subscribed and I don’t have many dot staked - will I still get a reward ??? Sorry I’m kinda confused and new to all this
If you don’t belong to the upper 255 nominators you won’t receive any. Better to join a staking pool
@@bahmak2003 I sold my dot and went all in on Ada and atom much easier
It would have been nice to explain that you must BOND your DOTs/KSMs before staking... The whole procedure isn't user friendly at all....
Very helpful video. Thx.
Was with 1.. getting good gains back per day, unfortunately went inactive so I had to unbond and wait 28days for my dots back 🙄🙄
You can change validators anytime without unbonding just need to pay a small transaction re nominate
I have stacked 20 dot but getting this message "Your nomination has not been applied to any validator in the active set by the election algorithm. This could mean that all your validators are over-subscribed or that you have less bonded than the lowest nominator elected for each of the validators." But I selected 9 validator and none of them have oversubscribe icon!! Please advise. What is minimum dot count?
I'm facing the same issue. But if I am not mistaken, it means that we don't have enough DOTs to do staking, see below how much is needed:
polkaview.network/dot
Could You please just put a 'Validator' as option for nominators just to keep things simple? Give me the validator and i will stick on it! Firm validator. I dont want to jerk around and chose. Give me an option and i will stake my DOT. Thats it!
great video but staking on polkadot is a pain in the ass hahaha
Yeah... Not just that, but even with all this information, I feel the system is overly complex and somewhat unpredictable. The network should not slash nominator stake and validators should be vetted further by the network early on
Why can’t dot be as easy as Ada or algo
Beside the dot technology awesome. But this is totally crap. If nominate to bad validate. Then every one will suffer. While under ADA or Tezos, delegate is 100% safe and Cardano after Goguen. it will be similar to Dot technology.
Agreed, wtf is this bullshit "risk level" staking
Thank you
ua-cam.com/video/7fgFCGArA0c/v-deo.html.
How can we approximate the APY?
13% when staking with a ledger
hy i test to unbond my staking coin but still hodl how can it to unlock
ua-cam.com/video/7fgFCGArA0c/v-deo.html.
Why am I keep getting toomanyvalidator?
Isn't that great how much dot can be in one validators own stake seems excessive.
Over Complicated. Not 100% secure. This is why i love ADA staking.
Polkadot is nice project but with 1000 000 0 tokens its ground for whales. I about to invest into Tellor...
Oh wow. trying since i guess 4 weeks to get this running. always inactive, unselected nominations. this is so far for me worst User Experience of any blockchain project. Even the support it is not running. What a big disappointment. If i cannot chose the nominator, but i could or could not be chosen and it is not in my power, then wow. what a great system.
What an unjust staking process!
When Validator turns off his computer at home, the nominator is unjustifiably rid of all his DOT/KUSAMA.
How can you develop such an unfair staking process for the nominator, i.e. normal client. - this is unbelievable!
Many people will lose all their money. This has already happened with the validator ZUG CAPITAL!
So then you really lose all stake ?!
watch the video again. validator and nominator loses 1% of staked stack each.
I'm trying to learn the system and that doesn't sound promising. I'd rather keep staking on kraken
@@massouji oh so that is what "slash" all about? But if our validator only turn off his computer in one day so we can only lost our 1% in one day? Do we have to check our validator every day?
Why would I stake when it is so shady and difficult. I rather just hold my dot .
What an awful system. Very frustrating and takes hours to understand. Wasted most of my day.
It's a lot to take in. For now I stake on kraken
@@Righteousone18 ah, I didn't realise that was an option. Thanks. Do we know if this system will be simplified at any point?
@@chrisbarker542 i would hope so. It seems it's more for advanced users. But, there's also the issue of choosing bad validators that can cause you to lose your funds. Don't think I like that too much
@@Righteousone18 agreed! That is what stopped me dead in my tracks. Great project but this system in the fast moving world of crypto feels like old, unrefineded tech. Im sure that is the opposite of what this tech actually is but the set up actually has me scared to use it. Personally I think it needs a complete overhaul.
@@Righteousone18 Oh man I wish I heard about Kraken before spending all day figuring out how to stake on polkadot-js. Kraken looks so much easier for beginner stakers.
Dude if u would cut half of useless words this video actually would be easy to understand and half long
There has to be an easier way
Not if your in the USA
do validator can scam me?
ADA is 1000 times easier to stake tha DOT... don't get me wrong I love everything about DOT... Except the staking process. It's kinda ridiculous really.
This video doesn't address "nominators" and why those numbers matter. Staking DOT should be easier and these videos are long with lots of fluff instead of condensed information.
验证人怎么搞 好难啊
Good grief, I love DOT, but could this get any more convoluted? Streamline your system!
The website is so laggy in my chrome fuck
Its too complicated..Ada is much simple..
Ponzi Scheme anyone.
Seems 13-14% for most stakes of 1,000 DOT or less with lots of hassle and some uncertainty. Get 12% with no bonding on Kraken, only downside is you're not the custodian of your DOT.
