I have the same saw, and it continuously leaks bar oil. No matter how I adjust it. And the the chain saw is clean as a whistle. Do you know of a fix for this issue. My Husqvarna is fine but this Makita has me scratching my head. Thanks mate. 😊👍
Excuse me if I don't use the right terminology as I'm new to chainsaws. Got just acquired this second hand Makita and can't fit that outer case back on that goes over the sprocket and bar. There is a metal ring (brake?) that slips over the metal clutch circle thing, but the metal ring won't fit over the clutch circle. With yours it slips right on, but with mine I can't get it on. It's as if the metal ring is a bit too tight to slip over it. I've tried for over an hour but can't get it on due to the metal ring.
You have the chain brake engaged on the cover. Take a flat head screw driver. Directly above the metal circle band there will be a vertical slit with a piece of metal inside. Use your screw driver and push that tab all the way down. That will loosen that metal ring.

My Makiti is slightly different to yours, I have a small round blue button on the high left side that pops in and out, although yours doesn't have it. There is a diagram next to the button, but I don't know what it refers to, it's an upside-down light bulb type of shape with one arrow pointing into it and another pointing out of it, as in something goes in and something goes out. Actually there's a round bit inside the bulb which kind of looks like the metal ring for the brake. Maybe the button puts the brake on, stops the chain for rotating? Although when I push the button I can still move the chain by hand. The diagram is obviously telling me what the button does, but I don't recognize the diagram. I can push the button in and pull it back out by grabbing the lip. On the back of the chainsaw I've got the choke and the on/off button, same as your setup. Just for interest, is that on/off button on the back left to put the fuel on, or to engage the ignition system? I've also got two identical metal screw things on the top towards the back, one had a symbol of a sun, and the other of a snowflake. Maybe they stand for hot and cold running? Another thing, the chain is very hard to push around, I can only push it a bit, and not all the way around. That metal brake ring, even when pushing the slit down, was very hard to get on, so I'm wondering whether that metal ring is too tight and is partially engaging the brake. The brake lever is disengaged so the metal ring must be overtight. I saw how easy you were able to push your chain around at the end of the video. I can only get mine around 1/8th of the way, and it's hard. Is that still ok to run it like that? I'm assuming with a partially engaged brake, it's not. The chainsaw does otherwise run fine as the previous owner kicked it over without a chain on. I had to get a chain for it. When putting that case on the tabs weren't lining up proper so I had to force it in a bit. Perhaps that's made the ring misaligned and it's pushing the brake wheel on one side. I'll have to take that darn case back off and inspect it again.
I’ve cleaned this so many times and it won’t work. It was working fine then stopped. Now it won’t start no matter what I do. It has spark fuel and compression but won’t run. Defied all the laws. I am far away at worksite and have wasted a day and fuel now. Is there a trick? A hidden switch? The kickback guardians always been weird.

The little hole at the end of the crankshaft is therefor lubricating the cloth bearing with the little bar greaser
