      Not true I'm afraid, speaking as someone who put hours of hard work into things and still been terrible at them :(.

      Some things you will always be better at and some things you'll be worse at. But the idea that anyone can be remotely good at anything without first work very hard is a myth.

      Well, there is a research showing that people who floss daily tend to enjoy longevity. This is definitely not due to solely flossing daily alone, but rather due to the fact that people who floss daily mostly having other good habits naturally. So I guess there is a link somewhere in there between raspberry oatmeal and getting into MIT and you just have to placebo your mind into it, and with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of hard work, you'll get in!

      Ale Giraldo I don't know which country you actually meant, but here in Indonesia we still have that kind of option such educations and high positions here are filled by women too. Not only me, but most of students in my engineering class are girls. That's why i watched this video, you know, day dreaming. Lol and oh, please no hate.

    • @alegiraldo599
      @alegiraldo599 7 років тому +5

      ***** the daily mail is your source? That source has absolutely no credibility and even the figures expressed in the article are not too astonishing. Similar rates are probably seen of conversion to eastern religions... and I'm not attacking you when I say this but Islam is bullshit. There are no such things as magic or miracles and from what I skimmed from the second article, the Quran is nothing more than a book of myths which dominates middle eastern culture. Influence doesn't make it true just as the Bible isn't true and Harry Potter isn't real

    • @alegiraldo599
      @alegiraldo599 7 років тому +6

      ***** and how are my claims ignorant if women truly are seen as second class citizens in Muslim society. They are mere assets of men and must ask for permission to acquire education and are forbidden from common practices such as driving. If anything, YOU are deluded about Islam

      There's definitely nothing wrong with majoring in STEM and also being involved with the arts. The only time this becomes a problem is if the arts begin taking over all of your time and leave you with little to no time for your STEM studies. I got nothing against the arts but they certainly won't pay the bills for most people lol whereas STEM definitely will.

    one of the things that i hate and probably the most one about being in a third world country is that i'll never have an opportunity like this in my life to be creative and learn and do my thing in a decent place with decent educated people just because i didn't win the life lottery and born in a first world country it's truly depressing

    • @ShawnMwenje
      @ShawnMwenje 5 років тому +11

      Hey, I’m from a third world country as well, Kenya in East Africa. Even though it really doesn’t feel like it lol, but I know of 100s of people who have gotten opportunities to study abroad for as little as nothing and learn about their passions especially because the elite schools are well funded and therefore very generous with their aid. So hopefully that encourages you to see the hope for opportunities around the world for education, as it has for me.

    • @beaco4960
      @beaco4960 5 років тому +4

      Its possible but in countries like Paraguay aren't able to do anything at least you have a lot of money. Even studying online is difficult since most people don't have internet.

      DarthVader Sorry to say but your reply shows how dumb you are. Around 12 lakh student try to get into IISC Bangalore and only 2 lakh in MIT so its legit that the entrance exam for IISC Bangalore would be tougher.... I KNOW that American universities provide far more better education than india's but there is legit reason for that... "POPULATION" in my opinion INDIA'S biggest problem is population and thats why many bright students are going abroad for there studies and never come back... IISC is also a world recognized institute recently some of the students published a journal in quantum mechanics..

    • @prathamkumar2755
      @prathamkumar2755 7 років тому +24

      DarthVader And if you have any better option for entrance please suggest it to the government... and more over IISC Bangalore doesn't get hulky bunch of funds like MIT or Harvard no college provides world class facilities cheap you mug head... They charge you a lot of money and getting a scholarship in those universities is not every one's cup of tea... so god bless india that it don't charge that pile of money...

      You could still apply and get in after a year at an average school bro. Check out this link. mitadmissions.org/apply/transfer/before
      A couple things I would say is 1) Don't take on more than 15 credits your first semester of freshman year no matter what your advisor says. 2)Do whatever it takes to get straight A's(go to every lecture, always ask a few questions, go to office hours once a week, read the textbook and watch videos on the topic a day before lecture, start studying for midterms a week and a half in advance, make friends who are also focused). 3) Don't get a girlfriend. 4) Only join like 1 or 2 clubs/activities. No need to get too involved if you want to transfer.
      NEVER SELL YOURSELF SHORT

    I have exactly same passions for music and engineering. I got my BS degree in industrial engineering from a good university in Brazil, but my experience was terrible compared to what I see in this video. I wish I could've had the same opportunity. If that's within your reach, don't waste the opportunity. Effort is just a very small price to pay, when you're already so much ahead in life. Don't take things for granted.
    Good luck!

    This is literally my dream. NOT JOKING. This video actually motivated me to force myself more into maths and science. And thanks to this video I feel comfortable working extra on mathematics and physics. It dosen't feel boring anymore.
    I know my path and I'll dow whatever it requires from SAT or TOFL to get enrolled in the future.
    Sometimes, offering chill times for extra work and effort really helps you to understand and learn something new which can help you later on in life.

    USA is an interesting place, with MIT and all the other great schools. I used to reside in Canada, which has *nothing* like MIT.

    1) everyone's indian
    2)everyone's studying 24/7
    3)classes are from 8 am to 4 pm
    4) sleep is non-existent
    5)there is nothing called free time and no recreation
    6) u hav to die for 4-5.5 years
