    Wouldn’t expect one of your peers to be “that smart”... they got into MIT for a reason you know 😂

    • @novalrumangun98
      @novalrumangun98 5 років тому +14

      I think when those MIT kiddos talking about "smart", they're talking about a whole different level of smart. Like you know, some smart people praising a genious.
      Or, maybe don't. Idk. Lol

    is it true that if u have a medal in the inter national Olympiads(science, math) u can get into MIT as an international student?

    • @EmilyonAndromeda
      @EmilyonAndromeda 7 років тому +11

      Minori ruba I don't know if it is true, but it wouldn't be an advantage. They accept less than 2% of international applicants.

    • @HeroicAmish
      @HeroicAmish 7 років тому +9

      Minori ruba It definitely helps, but more is needed to show a passion for the STEM subjects. That alone is not sufficient for admittance.

    • @tomanglimlagones5643

      how would it NOT be an advantage??

    • @syahnazmi29
      @syahnazmi29 3 роки тому

      I'm not sure if that's a definite advantage But I knew a kid from my country who got into MIT and he was in a national Olympiad team for many years and even got that Gold medal.

    • @jollyholly2851

      This is untrue. Interpersonal skills are really important. Social life is not at all- it is mostly a waste of time.

    • @thisisntallowed9560
      @thisisntallowed9560 4 роки тому +2

      @@jollyholly2851 Having a social life helps for your mental health. And I say this as an introvert. Also, having more contacts can give you more opportunities. Having contact with people releases hormones in your body. If you lack these hormones, it will make you unmotivated. A bad social life will make you unmotivated. There is also a loss of meaning for some people. People who are alone die faster and are 5 times more likely to develop diseases. Etc etc

    • @jollyholly2851
      @jollyholly2851 4 роки тому

      @@thisisntallowed9560 That's a good point. It does. You need to have a healthy balance though. You can't be spending 8 hours a day with your friends. That simply isn't conducive to high levels of achievement.

    • @thisisntallowed9560
      @thisisntallowed9560 4 роки тому +1

      @@jollyholly2851 Yes but I think more people these days have the problem that they lose time on social medias or videogames and are more lonely overall than the opposite. I heard that studies have shown that people who go into parties and have good social life are actually more likely to succeed at school

    if u can get into MIT is a bright future really guaranteed? I heard after graduating from MIT sal khan found himself working at an investment bank. bank job is not bad but I thought MIT graduates do some creative jobs rather than a typical 9to5 office job.

    • @mohammadmohd113
      @mohammadmohd113 7 років тому +38

      ? MIT offers an outstanding education, wonderful professional connections, research/project experience, and internship opportunities. People make of it what they will. Yes, MIT grads tend to go for "creative jobs" inventing new technologies and such, but a lot find a relevant high-paying job eventually and they're fine.
      It's not wise to generalize.
      Edit: And nothing is ever "guaranteed." Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard and yet founded Facebook (or, rather, he dropped out in order to found it). There's a chick that graduated Harvard and now has a boring desk job in some company, but is a hilarious (but relatively unknown) comedian. She studied law. College is not a guarantee for a future. MIT isn't. You work towards your own future. College just gives you the tools and knowledge to achieve your goals.

      Minori ruba College is truly what you make it. Sure, if you go to a prestigious university it will be recognized but what is looked at more is what you did with your time there.
