    Loved today's video! A couple of friends and I volunteer at a place that redo furniture, appliances and whatever so they can go to our local second hand store. I've learned so much there and it helps so many that need. Plus it's the greatest way to give something a second life! Rock on my friend! You're amazing!!

    Possibly your most important video to date, along with your #metoo videos. Very inspiring. As usual, you have been the highlight of my monday. 👍

    1) Second-hand might be electronic devices as well. My smartphone is 6 years old, my reflex camera body 10 (lenses are 2nd-hand as well). I recently assembled a photo/video editing workstation with mostly already used or like-new components (and yeah, a Ryzen 7 3700x is still a beast in terms of performance, luckily not that power hungry). The list is very long, but the fact is that only in exceptional cases you really need new stuff. Think about it, a brand new device consumes much rare earth and generates a certain amount of packaging waste.
    7) Public transportation/walking/biking instead of driving
    Train/bus instead of driving/flying
    10 years ago I travelled by train to Copenhagen and back to my hometown (Naples at that time). Feel free to watch video on my channel (spell errors included 😀).
    Next summer I'd like to interrail across Scandinavia, if there are less restrictions due to Coronavirus. Hopefully with a direct night train from Germany (where I currently live).
    10) Clothes may be clean, but sweat is invisible and it's not that recommendable to smell, especially at work. You need to wash underwear, anyway, and you definitely don't want to wait until enough stuff is dirty.
    Last, but not least:
    11) Ditch everything from animals, especially proteins.

    I also use naked shampoo bars from Lush. I think i had the exact same lilac bar. I started with that one. I find it not just better because there is no waste from packaging. But i find it that it lasted me longer than the liquid regular one. I have a lot of hair, so i used to use a lot more shampoo that was recommended. I think anyone who has an open mind to change their habits can try it. :) great, important video!

      Lush is cool!
      Products are very economical, a 250 ml shower gel bottle is empty in six months, so long it takes for a solid shampoo of mine to run out.

    • @adri0621
      @adri0621 3 роки тому

      @@iuciubbb One thing to keep in mind, that a lot of their product contains SLS, it's what responsible for being foamy. This is not so good for the enviroment. I tried other (lush) shampoo bars without SLS and I've found it not so effective on my hair (thick, normal-oily hair). All in all lush is really cool, that they reduces plactic waste.

    • @iuciubbb

      @@adri0621 thanks for the advice, I didn't know it. I'm open for suggestions and alternatives, though I think this drawback is a reasonable compromise, if you think about the ridiculous amount you need for every shower.
      Otherwise, drugstore (like dm, Rossmann or Müller here in Germany). Even if you choose store's green product line (such as alverde, Alterra, etc.), the same amount of stuff will run out in a month - instead of six. Consequence: more plastic waste.

    • @adri0621
      @adri0621 3 роки тому

      @@iuciubbb Saidly out of the bunch the lush is an easy win, I was just in DM the other day (in Hungary) it's sad that just a few things are in paper. No refill options yet. However I am still searching for a better shampoo bar, that cleans well.

    EU politicians appear to have little real authority. Unelected bureaucrats seem to run the show. How to solve this problem?
