- The celebration was in full force at 2300 Jackson Street in Gary, Indiana, as the city marked the home of the Jackson 5 with official highway signage. The sign will stand near a new Hard Rock Casino, a very recent addition to Northern Indiana.

It is long overdue for this legendary family to have an official highway, to show the tourists where their childhood home is located. This legendary family broke every record, birthed "the greatest entertainer of all time" and known all over the world; birthed the baby sister who became an icon, trendsetter, and the true "Queen" and others. I am hoping that their childhood home will be designated in the state of Indiana as a landmark, and in the U.S. "National Historic Landmark." It is long overdue!

I was a couple years under Michael when J5's made the scene. They were great! But for the Jackson's to go this far in recognitions,and MANY other honorings they receive is mainly because of Michael. The Man is an Iconic Legend.The greatest humanitarian that ever lived! etc... Michael was a talented genius, bad a_s from the beginning till the end. And regardless the hate he received. I was there on Sept 28, 2012 after first visiting the Motown Museum in Detroit.
Yes this is for sure long overdue. I was just there 2 weeks ago. I am 58 and ALL of my life I had a wanted to visit their home. I finally got to the week of my 58th birthday.. I wish I could have met them but it was a dream come true for me to be there. I dressed in a shirt with Michael Jackson pictures all over it, my Billie Jean hat glove and socks. I only got to see the outside but at one point I got so emotional just visualizing them practing and playing.. I pray in the name of Jesus to go back next year or even this year to visit and hopefully meet some of the Jacksons.. I live 5 hours away and it was worth every moment..
I'm so incredibly happy that I got to see it in it's "original" state, but also hopeful that this will bring more people to see it.

I remember visiting the their home in 2009 while visiting our grandparents in East Chicago and they had a concession stand out there where I bought an MJ shirt with their home on it and a Thriller picture frame.
I grew with up listening to this young men back in 1970 and even in our aging years they are still the Greatest. From WHBH Thomasville ga serving North Florida and South Georgia a service of Gross broadcasting Thomasville Georgia Radio.
