It's ridiculously funny, but to realise that if you said this to any non-mark as to why CM Punk was fired from AEW it comes down to literally that one question.
And AEW was more ready to defend people willing to answer that question in a serious tone, than to admit the alternative
The whole summation of EVERYTHING that has happened since Punk came back to wrestling is the simple fact that AEW was SO BAD, it ended a blood feud beweeen HHH and Punk that had been going for over 10 years... that should speak volumes in itself

Yet, AEW Dynamite this week's rating was still lower than the Punk-Helwani interview. I was expecting AEW to gain a big viewership ratings boost this week cause Punk essentially gave them free publicity.
I remember all the British UA-cam channels saying that they bought Punk not being able to get an Uber that weekend because nobody could get an Uber that weekend. It was bedlam.
Getting an Uber outside of Heathrow is always a nightmare, it’s on the far edge of London, nowhere near anyplace else of note, and there’s thousands of people landing at the airport every hour. Most British people get public transport, prebook with a private mini cab firm or get a family member to pick them up for transport.
Very hard to get an uber on a busy day in heatrow, Once i waited 40 minutes…

Some in WWE have stated that things changed behind the scenes there because of how Punk was treated in his first run. Phil changed the sports entertainment industry in ways he doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Same with Cody Rhodes and the indies, Cody elevated the indies in a way never seen before. Add in the immense creative effect Windham Rotunda had on the industry, and you (in my opinion) have the three most influential wrestlers of the past 20 years
