As someone who commonly posts my work on Reddit and other socials, I feel like people tend to think that "critiques" are simply saying whatever you want in disguise as something useful. Or people simply say whatever they want without having any real knowledge of the topic, then they get mad when you dont take their "advice". It really turns me away from sharing my work tbh, and discussing within the design community in general. That being said, I love these videos, and thanks for sharing these tips.
20 years ago I remember MSN Groups had Graphics groups. We would do "graphic battles" a topic, theme, elements allowed, etc. Than people voted on who won, but they explained their choices. I dont remember anything those who knew nothing said. I remember advice given to be better. Don't let some punk ass hold you back. Take the hit to the chin and let it bounce man, in 20 years you will not remember it. But you will remember what you learned from it.
@@nataliagrocholska2198 None, unless you're ok with people judging the shit outta your work. If you can handle that I would go with r/graphicdesign, r/willpaterson, r/logodesign, r/gaphic_design & r/design_crituqes
100% I agree too. I don't know if you have any design ppl to closely share work with, but doing that is better for a peace of mind against what random say on the internet.
100% agree with the 'work a shitty job', Im currently doing Ubereats Bike delivery and it really puts into perspective, how much more important it is to work a job your passionate about. In a way doing design almost feels like "free money" considering im doing things I love, and im getting paid to experient, play and have fun.
Thank you! These are the A grade important list everyone need to receive!!! And i would like to add one too - no matter what you do, even if it's embarassing just embrace it and you'll feel better so you'll have more room and confidence to improve ☺️🙌
I'm just turning 20 this week and feeling lost like ive never felt before. all the discovering what i like, what works for me and what doesn't, what i wanna do etc can be very overwhelming and this video gave me some pretty good piece of advice so thanks! ive been watching ur videos for about 3 months now, im also subscribed to your newsletter and your content have been helping me a lot on my design journey but also on some aspects of personal life. keep up with these awesome videos!
Love the content bro 💪🏾 I'm an emerging designer, been learning since Nov last year and your content has helped me a lot so far, definitely going to keep tuning in on my journey 💪🏾
Great advice! A suggestion for tip 21. is to check habitat humanity restore locations because a lot of corporate offices donate their office furniture to these places and you can get a ergonomic chair at a affordable price. I got a Autonomous ErgoChair that retails for $600 for only $40. ( This is my experience in the Midwest).
Great video. Can you make a video explaining settings, shortcuts, and other technical aspects of illustrator and photoshop? Especially color profiles, color modes, exporting, etc
Hey Jesse, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I loved your videos. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you
Nice one! I’ve been recommending your channel to other people a lot lately. Lots of design channels I (and others) follow are falling victim to the UA-cam algorithm and are now just posting overproduced clickbait “hack” “quick fix” “AI” videos and shorts. While it may get them more plays, it loses authenticity and meaningful followers. Keep it simple and authentic.

May I ask you which subs do you recommend if it comes to sharing work?
