ive had this video in my watch later for months. glas i finally got around to it. Two asian graphic books I love for inspo that most people probably havent heard of are Page Unlimited (magazine layout) from Page One and New Waves of European Graphic Design from gaatii, both are from Hong Kong publishers. The latter on is really cool because theres a ton of Illustrator tutorials for things like show fliers and chrome logos which is rare in chinese language
This video is really helpful and hearing you talk about how those books helped you, it inspires me to develop my skills more! I subscribed because of this and I'm happy to add good books to my list. I'm currently a sophomore in college, taking a multimedia arts program, it's very broad but I've been stuck in the jack-of-all-trades thing which bummed me out a bit. But then it's 2 AM when I realized that "Dang, I know what I want my specialty to be." and I realized how much I always enjoyed graphic design. Whether it's for school, personal projects, or freelance gigs, it's the only constant thing that makes me enjoy or want to invest a project no matter what. Thank you for thisss!
Jesse! Such amazing recomendations! I have some books (Interaction of color, 50 Ideas for graphic design...) and hearing you talking about them is very inspiring to look at them in a different way. Thanks so much for the video.
God bless you for these recommendations!!!... i dont know when i became a book nerd 😅 but i love design so much ...its like i want to know everything 😂... i guess this recommendations will help alot
Graphic design books originally as a physical book, were sometimes only scanned in or OCR with no honor, losing the visual attraction of books. Sometimes the book’s layout, composition, and pagination were key to the book’s as a direct integration of design itself or some specific principles. Really scary 😱 oversight for design books. A shame too that so many of the books shown here are no longer available at libraries or bookstores (what are bookstores?). 18:55 got that 4 agreements. Steal like an artist.
"How to be a graphic designer without losing your soul" is a great book!! Thank you for the recommendation!
Thanks for this list, I was looking for good books about design and you definitely helped me with that.
SUCH good recomendations! Got a fair amount of these on our shelves. And love to see "Freelance, and Business, and Stuff" in there.
Thanks so much and most def, it’s a good one!

Anything you want is one of my favourites! I'm not a big reader so it being so short helped 😂😅 but still full of so many good insights.
Exactly haha, it’s a super short and easy read!
100 ideas that changed design forever is great too

I
Cool, just bought 9 books out of this 🙃🫠
Thinking with type is my favorite design book. Taught me so much about the world of letterforms, fonts, and text
