Of all the videos I've watched, I can't believe none of them have pointed out the obvious when it comes to figuring out if defense is in man or zone - look at the corners. When they're in zone they are ALWAYS angled 45 degrees towards the QB looking at him. man coverage the outside corners directly face the WR, regardless if pressed or giving cushion. Maybe people haven't noticed it but I have - and I never have to use motion to tell. I feel like using motion to tell the coverage is a real life thing, just look at the corner's stance and you'll see what I mean. You're welcome in advance lol

I'm glad the tips help! If the running hole is wide open, definitely hit that sprint button! Pretty much the only time i'm not hitting sprint right away is if I have to use a juke early on. Sprint will make your jukes and stiff arms less effective, so if you know you have to make a move on a guy; stay off the sprint for a moment!
I'm curious what difficulty and platform you're playing on, cause in all madden on PC the blockers simply do not do their double teams correctly. In fact generally I find they block the wrong 2nd level defender almost everytime. Its like they deliberately only block players already not in the play.
I dont know if this is just cause all madden cheats or because I'm playing on PC and the game is glitchy, i do notice my lead blockers sorta darting around as if they're confused which makes me think its a PC port issue and i' just seeing the effects of lag on gameplay ):

I will only identify the mike if the game sets the mike in a weird position. Pass plays I dont worry too much about setting the mike unless its a play action pass

Madden does not identify the mike backer properly. Inside zones/split don't block properly. It's really a crap shoot on runs
You can manually change the mike linebacker designation if its off because im with you on them identifying the mike improperly!
