    • @psour33
      @psour33 4 роки тому +1

      @@lilTryhard Hi ! in fact imho, if you already own a 1080 it is useless to change for a 5700XT especialy if you own like me a Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme edition wich is heavily overclocked. The Nitro+ is very good but it does not worth the exchange. If you have an old Radeon or a Nvidia 9XX serie you will earn lot's more fps. Against the 1080 you will earn to few fps in games but if you're a flight sim fan like me you will loose FPS (especialy with X-Plane 11).

    Dude, you SAVED me!!! I just built my first ever gaming computer (or computer in general) and I kept getting a VGA and BOOT error message. I was told that my card may have been in fault, but after looking at your video, I realized that I just didn't plug in the gpu correctly. I plugged in the 8-pin properly, but I didn't realize that the other 8-pin attachment could be transformed into a 6-pin attachment and was supposed to be plugged in too! Oh. My. Goodness! Newbies might try to do this while pc is still conneted to power: you did not mention to unconnect every cable from the pc (& then to hold power button for a moment to ensure the electricity was freed from the psu & other components - or so I heard that it works like this, but probably not as necessary as the first step).
    Plus for showing a way to stop win10 from installing drivers automatically (although it's still recommended to just disconnect internet beforehand, duh).
    But it's overall very nice step by step guide on how to do the stuff, I'll say that.

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      it's hard to cover it all, but I do thank you and I will try to add that in my next video. As for holding the power button, just tap it once or twice and that will take care of it, basically the same thing. Thanks for your compliment and what I should add in my next video, thanks.

      between the 3, I would still go for the GIGABYTE B450M DS3H Motherboard: geni.us/C30Fy, the other boards look nice, but the MSI does not have enough USB ports and the and the Gigabyte would be perfect, if that heatshield were not directly under the PCIE slot, it looks like it will get in the way. the MSI does look nice, so if you don't need 2 additional USB ports, check it out: geni.us/fl0BO

The PSU did come with extra VGA cables, but I don’t know if you can use those instead of the ones labeled “PCIE”, and just let the PCIE ones hang loose. Any help is appreciated!

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +1

      Nice, very happy I could help you on your first build. Yes, you can just tuck that entire cable aside, attach another 6+2 cable into the power supply and connect it to the card. Back in the day, when all power supplies were not modular, we would have a bunch of other cables just tucked away in the PC, cluttering it up, modular power supplies let you only attach what you need and semi modular, while better than non modular, will usually always leave you with one or 2 cables you don't need.
      Again, you are perfectly fine, not using that 6Pin, plugging in another 6+2 or an 8 (but make sure its not an EPS cable, as those are for CPU power) and then connecting it into your video card. I am so very happy I could help, and thank you so much for stopping by to check out my video and comment. It means the world to me.

    Hey man, you seem like a helpful guy.
    I’ve just bought one of em rx 5700 xt and I downloaded the drivers from amd website. I did clean out the drivers from my previous card, the 580.
    My performance should have doubled. Yet, the performance is the exact same. How and why do I make this thing speed up? I am going to return it soon. I’ve heard incredible things and all my research says I should be getting twice the frames that I am. What have I done wrong? It’s like I’m getting the frames I get now if I was using 1440p, but I’m using 1080p.

      Thanks my friend, I do love to help and I it would be my pleasure to help you but I need to check in on a few things with you. Yes you should get close to double the performance, but it could be many things, can you give me your exact system specs including manufacturer and model number of each device? How are you measuring performance? You've mentioned you have cleaned out the drivers, which is great but how did you clean them out, did you use DDU and did you download the latest AMD graphics drivers from AMD? Incase you are unsure on how to use DDU, you can check my video here: ua-cam.com/video/clLYbBywhAg/v-deo.html

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +1

      @@mqge2481 yeah you meet and sometimes beat all of the requirements, so you are good, and hopefully you have both of the PCIE power cables connected and you have a nice system. DDU clearing your drivers will help you tons, then installing the latest drivers will help. Also what are you using the test your frame rates, and what are your game settings, I ask because there are a few settings that should not be used, they kill performance with any card you use, the highest NVIDIA card as well, for example MSAA, it destroys performance and I believe (I don't have one infront of my right now, I am at work) should only be set to 2X. Let me know how this works out for you, I really want to help you get the most out of your card.
      Oh oh one thing I forgot to mention, if you have any overclocking software that you had been using on the 580 (MSI Afterburner, TRIXX, etc), uninstall it and make sure to delete the settings as well if given the option, that could be hindering your performance. If you want, download and install the latest and greatest versions of them afterwards, but get rid of it for now.

      try this, boot back into safe mode (ua-cam.com/video/Qh2xEUXWeqs/v-deo.html) and use DDU to uninstall the drivers and make sure to place the check to not have windows automatically update your drives. The after thats done, boot back into Windows.
      Start the driver installer (download the latest amd driver) where it extracts all of the drivers, don't change the path of the where the drivers get extracted to, then when the driver starts, when it shows the AMD Radeon software installer, cancel it.
      Next, Go to your device manager (right click on the start button then click Device Manager), go to display adapters, then right click on the video card there and select properties the click on the driver tab, then click update drivers. Click Browse my computer for driver software, then navigate to this directory, and enter C:\AMD\Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-20.2.2-Mar5\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF, go through the prompts and restarts when it asks you, and see if that helps you.

      no, you don't have to turn off your password, just update it and it will be good. After update, I think it was 1903 it caused this issue (it could have been another version), so updating your password will fix it. So maybe change it to 12345678, apply it, then change it back to the password you had before.

    A thousand thank you, had different problems with the Risen 5700G processor. If I had this video like 20 hours ago and 1 re-install. Fuck Windows. If it weren't for the software that I need can't run on Linux I would have been on Linux 10 years ago. Linux won't install a god dammed thing if you don't tell it to. There is no automatic updates that can fuck up things. And especially as my problem came at night when it did an automated update and reboot. So I woke up to a black screen. Booted in safe mode and that works of course. But then the searching began, and I had no clue what so ever that it has restarted and actually over written my display drivers. So yes and thank you again!!. I will post this on every forum I have been on because Im not the only one. The DDU thing was really a thing when AMD did their graphics cards in the beginning but that was not a Windows problem. So I forgotten DDU after 10 years. But OMG I will never forget this.

    Thank you for posting this step by step install. I always review best practices before an important task. I have a question about opting out of DDU. I am upgrading from a Radeon Fury R9 to the RX 5700XT, and I am already running Radeon software. I have just downloaded the latest Radeon software for the RX 5700XT (Adrenalin 20.12.1) in advance of the upgrade. I am wondering if I should install the new Radeon software first and already have it in place before I complete the physical installation of the RX 5700XT. After all, I am upgrading from Radeon to Radeon. I value your opinion. Your thoughts, please?

      @@ThisBytesForYou
      The PC in question is a DIY build from 2015. I am preparing to build a new rig this year, but I wanted to make one more upgrade before the next project. The specs are as follows:
      Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.
      CPU AMD FX 9590
      RAM: 32 GB (8x4) DDR (2133Mhz)
      Powersupply: 1,000 watts
      Video Card: Fury R9 4GB
      Display 1920X1080
      The mean average frame rate in games is over 1,600 fps.
      The rig is designed with temperature management in mind. My top case temp was recorded at 36.5C. The entire rig is overclocked to provide a +15% performance improvement.
      The upgrade is to an XFX THICC III Ultra RX 5700 XT 8GB
      I am also adding a non RAID 1TB SSD SATA3 to use purely for swap memory (page file) expansion. I have checked hardware compatibility, and I am 100% compatible, but I will not benefit from the PCIE x4 because of the age of the motherboard.
      My experience: 10 Years with Dell Inc. My specialty was as a Business Systems Analyst (interfaces both UI and applications), but I have hardware experience in servers, pcs, and thin clients. I am trained to perform two prerequisites to an important task. The first is to pray, and the second to review all the best practices documented by others.
      The issue: I am running Fallout 4 heavily modded. At times my VRAM is maxing at 204%, but my RAM is maxing at 30%, so the rig can handle the demands. I am not upgrading the motherboard because the motherboard upgraded is in the budget for the new pc build. The RX 5700XT upgrade would double my VRAM and improve overall graphic card performance by at least +71%.
      My thought on the question is that the Radeon Adrenalin software supports both cards. Therefore it makes sense to install the application first and let it detect the new card. I also don't want to uninstall the fury drivers in the event I want to reuse the fury in this rig again in the near future.
      One final note, I am also big on using electrostatic discharge protection. My workbench is heavily guarded against ESD, and I do strap in.
      Thank you in advance for your opinion and input.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 роки тому +1

      That frame rate is insane... but I don't think it correct, though at 1080 on a low profile maybe.... but heavily modded, I dont know. I too worked for Dell, when they bought us, I was product development engineer for Alienware, then after I left Dell, Velocity Micro.
      Regardless of that, not sure why are you mentioning x4 PCIE, it has nothing to do with anything here, unless maybe you missed something?
      At 1080p, you are using more CPU than GPU. Adrenalin does support both cards... but when you install the new card, you will be using the new drivers, which will overwrite your current drivers, so if you took the 5700 out the drivers would still see your R9, so it does not make sense to leave the drivers installed, nor will they stay installed, they will be overwritten. I recommend you update your BIOS on that board to the latest version and make sure, if between the latest version on the version you have now, if there are any in between versions you need to flash to reach the latest version, you apply those as well.
      ESD can be bad, but as long as you ground yourself on the case, maybe adding in a plugged in power supply on the case you are good, you don't really need to strap in.
      I hope this helps.

Make sure the cable you are plugging into the video card says PCIE not EPS or ATX, EPS is for CPU and ATX are for CPU power.
      So for the UpHere cables, this one in particular: geni.us/tiAYiif , you will notice it comes with a 4Pin fan header and an adapter for a molex. • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +1

      It's a rough one, the 2070 Super is a little over $80 more (geni.us/Hn1yP) than the 5700XT (geni.us/VoHIZhu) those are my Amazon affiliate links for each. Currently, AMD is having a lot of issues with Windows (potentially due to motherboard BIOS', Drivers, Drivers pushed out by Microsoft) that cause many people to return the cards. The 2070 Super is a bit fast, not by a ton, but there is a noticeable difference, but right now might be a bit of a gamble as NVIDIA is set to announce a new card, potentially in March, which surely AMD will launch something right afterwards.
      Prices typically don't fluctuate much, AMD has already dropped some pricing, making NVIDIA drop some pricing, but based on this structure, it might make sense for AMD to change their normal scheme of things and drop prices when big NAVI is released (if ever) which might make NVIDIA drop pricing, but if you need a card now, and cannot wait a little, go for the 2070 Super geni.us/Hn1yP, for only about $80 more, no headaches (not Sapphires fault, Sapphire makes excellent cards), it just works. NVIDIA makes great cards, they usually come at a much higher cost, the cost difference here I would say is reasonable. Going with NVIDIA, I would only recommend EVGA, they not only make the best NVIDIA cards, their customer support is tops, you won't find better support anywhere else, at what ever time of day or night, if you have an issue with the card, give them a call, they are super friendly, helpful and really feels like you are talking to a personal friend, they are all gamers it seems, which rocks.

      GReat that you commented my friend, thank you so much for checking out my video and commenting, it means the world to me and thank you for your compliments. So please be sure, before you build your computer. examine your power supply. There should be, if its the TPD-0750M - 750W model, there should be an 8Pin CPU connection, that is 2x4, that is for cpu and the red ones are for PCI-e. So you would plug in this video card both the 6+2 pins, you would use 8 in each (all of the pins). The 8Pin for the CPU is an EPS connection, totally different pin out, it will not fit.... I mean you push hard enough it will fit (I have seen it with my own 2 eyes work, I could not believe it worked, but the person that did it, blew up the video card) but it won't work. Can you confirm it is the model number of the power supply is TPD-0750M - 750W? I love helping, and I hope I can help you my friend.

My case is a sharkoon tg5 rgb and my Mobo is a b450 aorus elite, I don't know if it will sag or not, can you tell me if you had problems with that and if my case and Mobo are strong enough to maintain it?

      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +1

      I know a lot of people have sag issues, and in the 20+ years i have been building PC's, I have never had an issue. When you install the card and are going to screw it in, don't leave it slid down on the lower slot. When I install a card, I lift it a little tiny bit (make sure you can still plug in your video cables) then I screw the screws in and you should be good. This is not to say this is the solution, but it is my solution that has not let me down. I will see if I can address this in a later video, but you case seems perfectly fine, I don't think you will have issues. Not sure if I'll have the luck of a reply with this video being around 8 months old, but I've seen others talking about using two cables for this power hungry card. Potentially dumb question (sorry, this is the first build I've personally put together), but would two _separate_ 6+2 pin VGA cables be fine? I have an EVGA SuperNOVA G2 (850W, so it's up to the task) - not sure if it originally came with a more suitable cable as a friend handled it all for me years ago, but the two 6+2 spares are all I have until my custom cables are delivered.
    Edit: Nevermind, I rewatched the section on plugging in the cables, you're using the same thing, right? They looked like a single cable on my first watch.

You are OK to put it on on cable, though I prefer using 2, just makes me feel a little better. Actually, not in this video but in newer videos I have the bigger brother to your power supply, the EVGA superNOVA G2 1000Watt, they are great power supplies. Why do you need DDU specifically?

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  4 роки тому +2

      to strip the older drivers, be it older drivers you have installed or older drivers MS has installed either over time or integrated into the build alreayd. NVIDIA and AMD have a similar method already built it but there are inherent flaws to them. The flaws are, thier programs are running the uninstalls, and many times they will hold onto files because the program is using them, or maybe windows itself is using it, so it causes a dirty uninstall.
      Try it your self, uninstall you NVIDIA/AMD/Intel/Matrox, etc driver, then reboot, go back into windows and check the Program Files, Program Files (x86), ProgramData, AppData, and the Registry. DDU is unrelated to the manufacturer, so it hold nothing to it, you tell it what you want to get rid of in windows safe mode, which does not utilize drivers, load programs on startup or have any TSR's, it is a basic and bare version of windows. With that, it allows it to DELETE EVERYTHING and leave you with basic drivers.
      I hope I have answered your question.

      ThisBytesForYou hi! I have a question unrelated to sapphire nitro (going to install today once I figure out an issue I’m having). I installed a new Corsair psu 850x (850 watts) works completely fine. Tried installing my I7 9700k in replace of my i5 8400 cpu I bought (motherboard is b360m bazooka) and it gets stuck on arsenal gaming loading screen. I used to be able to boot to bios even with the new cpu (I7) but again just stuck on loading screen and when clicking delete to get Into bios I get a black screen. Any ideas?

    I have this card and it’s getting REALLY hot, any reason for that or does this card just run warm? I have a 600W psu

      There are 2 temperature readings on the card, there is GPU and then GPU Hotspot, you can see which is the one you are seeing using GPU-Z, then clicking the sensor tab, and on the bottom left hand corner, placing a check in the box that reads "Log to File", have that save to your desktop, then play a game. It will record your temperatures and place it in that document. When you are done, close GPU-Z, so it will stop writting to the document (make sure its not still running on the bottom right hand corner in the application tray), then open it up and you will find the 2 sections. Let me know which of the 2 is reporting the higher temperatures? If it is the GPU hotspot, I found it pretty hot as well. How do you have your fans situated in your case, front, top and rear and how many fans? Do you have any card under the Nitro, and if so, what is the distance, and what card is it?
