What is your favourite song by Sam Cooke?
Wonderful World
Another Saturday night
His rendition of Swing Low Sweet Chariot
I'm Just A Lucky So and So
A Change Is Gonna Come
His cover of "Unchained Melody"...so much better than the Righteous Brothers because it's simple and seems heartfelt, and his voice!
Change Gonna Come and Troubling Mind
The ending of this movie made me cry so hard. Because you understand every word he’s singing in that song.
Como se llama la pelicula?
Both Sam & Malcolm would be leaving soon
My Grandma met my grandpa at this concert
Wow is that so
Oh wow...that's the best 💕
Awwww 😍
That is amazing
Awesome
My favorite scene from this movie. All four men did an excellent job in this film.
Every actor made me proud of this short film. It should have been longer. I must say everything Regina King touches is gold.
You tell em! People's.
Whats this short film called??
It’s a full length movie called one night in Miami
It was a movie
short film? this is a feature film
I Wish There Was A Full Song Of This Version Of Chain Gang
This Was So Soulful
@Lee John Thank You Bro.
@Eric Raygoza their is
Search the live version at Harlem Square. Is amazing.
@@sashafalcon5143Yes I have it on CD 🥰
I loved that scene. It reminds me of how much power we actually have inside of ourselves.
Lesile Odom acting and voice are like magic, your just asking how he does it all at the same time to that magnitude.
Dunno what it was but this scene made me instantly start balling. Something about one person's voice moving an auditorium to action - symbolic of what the dialog around this scene is about.
To see what they're talking about visualized on the screen was just such a beautiful and moving moment.
Phenomenal film, exceptionally beautiful scene.
Sam Cookie's was unjustly murdered nearly 60years ago, and still no movie of his life. He is the King of Soul. The Man who invented Soul. I understand it would be nearly impossible to cast someone with his exact sound but they could 👄 sync. More than his music his life story must be told. He was truly a iconic figure. 💯
TRULY.
You tell em Gill!
The highlight of the entire movie. SC knew what to do when they was messing with the equipment. I'm making a case that Leslie sweep all of the Best Supporting Actor categories in the coming months. And SC is more deserving of a standalone biopic, just bring Leslie back.
I need a stand-alone film 🎥 of SC
そうですね!
Yes
They should all be nominated!!!
The acting was impeccable. Four of the greatest performances I've ever seen and I had never heard of any of them.
@@ldmaxno argument from me
The fact that they got Jeremy Pope in this movie says that they went all out with casting. He's a Superstar in the making.
And he sang Jackie Wilson so well. He should star in a Jackie Wilson Biopic called “Lonely Teardrops” or “To Be Loved”.
You ain't lying. He will be a STAR.
He’s incredible! I was so surprised and happy to see him!
@@melirose89 Leslie Odom Jr is one of Jeremy's mentors. They had been looking for an opportunity to work together.
that was powerful
Chills
Oh how I wish I could’ve been at one of Sam Cooke’s live performances back then. I was so excited when I saw Leslie was going to be playing Sam 🤍
Wish there was more live footage of Sam
Leslie did amazing!
Agree
He did a wonderful of a man who with very few video's excellent job !!!!
Yes, he did!
My fav is A Cappella version of "Chain Gang" the BEST EVER. Sydney Australia. 30/05/2022....10am R.I.P. Sam.
Such a phenomenal scene. Some amazing acting from these men. Plus it’s one of those amazing movies that get better and better as it goes on.
This scene was so beautifully shot😩 the movie was great ♥️✊🏾
This one of the best parts of the movie!
Powerful movie. Great actors and fantastic directing!
POWERFUL SOUND OF THE STRUGGLE !! YOU HAD TO FEEL THAT !!
That scene was the best of all time for me!!!
Respect for all these iconic figures... i miss them even though i never met them ..
Chills all down my spine watching this...
And I dunno why but kinda brought a joyful tear to my eye
The movie/Bio was FIYAH
One of my favorite moments/ lines in this movie.
Truly incredible movie. Every part of it is a masterpiece
Truly a special scene.
One of my favorite scenes of many
This movie is truly Unforgettable.. A must see film. From Beginning to the End This movie is full of Breakout ⭐⭐✨'z. Excellent 🎥
That’s what special people are able to do
You tell em! To know.
Give me the music of those days every time
Bought tears to my eyes~ they did such a great job with this one~
Audience participation does it every time.
This movie was fantastic
Yes, it was. Respect to you.
He would’ve been 90 today
Ok then he would prolly have died in the 2000s or 90s

The beauty of this is,, we know each person individually. We're aware of the magnificent presence. The accomplishments, even though. So our imaginations journey along with them because we're still sharing the same victories as we continue to struggle.
Wow!!!! SC was in the house!
Beautiful movie man & this scene was the best of the movie
The first ling playing LP i ever listened to..we didn't have a t.v. then..we just moved into our new home...that my parents built..so we gathered before bedtime to listen to music on a player..that was the late 70s..i was about 3 or 4 yrs old..remember every song on that album..
loved that movie and that moment; so powerful and wonderful.
This was a great film
I only wish this scene was longer! Still amazing nonetheless.
this was such an amazing movie🥺🤎✊🏾
Great Movie about our G.O.A.T Kings
I MUST WATCH THIS FILM.
Great movie!! To have been a fly on the wall!!
first off...homie played Brother Malcom to the T
Yes he did
Ben Kingsley should’ve got an Oscar for this role. Scene brings me to tears lowkey
Kingsley Ben
Why can't there be a full movie about Sam?
Yes there needs to be
Definitely needs to be one, his personal story writes itself.
Chicago babyyyyyy!!!!! This is how they perform at the Redline lol 😆 lbvs ❤️ I Love my City!!!!!
This scene reminds me of when Shawn Vaughn cut my Mic at my highschool talent show and I had to rap acapella.
Yeah I hear you. My group got our music interrupted too. 😂 that was just jealousy but it made us better.
Kingsley & Leslie were amazing.
Yes they were
What a great movie!!
I’m so happy seeing ELI GOREE 😭 🙏
Forever loved that song so cool to hear this story
Dude was trying to sabotage him and instead he wound up making him a legend right there on the spot! If something is meant to be great, nothing can get in the way of that! He turned the crowd into his band!
I heard that Jackie used to do that to other artists. A lot of artists back then used to sabotage other artists. Smh. But like you said Sam became a legend so it didn’t matter. 🥰
That was amazing
Jeremy Pope as Jackie Wilson tho!!
I wish there was more live footage of Sam
As an upcoming artist, this gave me *chills*
Love it! Love it! Love it! Thank you, Regina King!!!
Love this moment 🖤🖤🖤
@2:30: this is the best part of the movie for me.....
This movie is so powerful and empowering for anyone who watches it.
Regina King is such a great director.
Shout out to Kingsley Ben-Adir and Leslie Odom Jr, they portrayed my heroes perfectly ❤
Jackie Wilson didn't do that. The writer, Kemp Powers, made it up and says he did it to "give an idea" of Jackie Wilson's practical jokes.
No he didn't. And Sam's band, especially Clifton White would never leave him on the stage by himself.
Powerful...💪🏾💯👏🏾
all of his songs
I love this
Loved this part wonder if it had any truth behind lol
Yes!
I'm a big fan of both Sam and Jackie. Hate to know that Jackie was the kind of guy that would do something like that. He didn't need to, he was great.
The dude that played Malcolm had me thinking impure thoughts....respectfully 😒
Tie between Sentimental Reasons and Cupid
Who wrote the dialog for this movie?
Didn't know that happened cool!
That's Boston for you hahaha
I love my people
U betta sang
When will this movie come out on DVD?
Amazon Prime already have it.
💜💜💜💜
Are the vocals we hear of the first singer actually also Leslie Odom singing?
Yes that is Leslie. He is phenomenal.
My favorite is ,, shake ,,.
El más grande.
Jackie Wilson the greatest male singer of all times!!!!
Mr. excitement!!
@BAMA MADE peace how was he a hater???
@BAMA MADE i thought that much. I was wondering myself what he'd said, anyways. I don't know wether that was factual r not! So i won't even make a comment pertaining to that scene. Bcuz whorey wood/ so call Hollywood likes to embellish things big time!!!
@@tarikbey4087 yup that really did happened....he and Jackie used to be “friendly rivals” when touring on the road
@@dotishboy peace fam, thx for that! There both 2 of my faves!!! However Jackie is the craziest by far!!! Has far has both his voice n range go's!!! He was tottal on a different planet than every one else!!!
I bet she did, and he held on to her. Go granny
Chain gang
Malcolm knowing he wouldnt be here much longer
What’s your favourite song by Jackie Wilson?
You love keeps lifting me up (Higher and Higher)
Nice wishful thinking , But Jackie and Sam Were friends and Jackie would never do that to Sam . This movie was a lot of conjecture from people who were never there . Sam AND Malcolm had tremendous respect for one another
This a case where the filmmakers took some creative liberties___in this case throwing Jackie Wilson under the bus
I have always heard they were great friends but folk take license on stuff
Well Jim Brown was there. And he did a revisit to the hotel room, on UA-cam. He never mentioned that the movie was off point. ????
