I would've rather they just waited to release this episode until all the test issues were fixed. Dropping this content with this many issues is demoralizing. I don't even want to play this content after being denied the new OP belt today. I'm struggling to even justify turning DCUO back on in the foreseeable future. After a decade, I might actually be finished with this game.

They can't help it. They soo, soo invested. Just look at them all 13 arts ranked to 200, Replay after replays. Just to be full elite with in 1 day. Then if they see you with 80 to 120 arts or few pieces or purple or reg gold gear. Some how... You're the lame one...yet you know the mechanics. THEY DON'T! Yet, they'll get slapped AROUND, look around like, "What happen?! This is BS!" This game trash! lol

Obsidian made a interesting point. about doing everything he can to keep DCUO going and keeping new players to stick around longer.... The issue with that is... THE COMMUNITIES ATTITUDES and how they treat new player or returning players. In LFG, if they ask a real or simply question. Because DCUO changed. They'll get dumb/toxic comments. Or barely no one will respond back in LFg. It'll be us OG players. sending a tell in detail. To answer their question or lend support. That's how it use to be.... Now we just have 90% of mouth, cash piggys, speed hackers.
I haven’t played or played for dcuo for about a year and I do miss it, tswe elite was the last fun experience I had in the game. Not because it was a good dlc but because I liked the teamwork involved in the raid. As far as content goes all they do is reuse assets and design structures. The game is over saturated with money grabs it’s a bit hard to keep up, not to mention people normally don’t want to play with someone who doesn’t have the best everything most of the time.
This game lost its allure and engagement when TC's entered the formula. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the combat is 2nd to none and the flexibility of creating your character is still pretty good. I gave up being pissed and chasing SP's and it's made the game that much enjoyable. I've kept my expectations low and it's paid off.

To keep it honest fans and supporters aren't getting what we are asking for and there is so much room for improvement
The open works in my opinion is terrible. I personally don't want to travel the map to find missions, also not being able to compete a mission unless playing multiple times is not fun at all. Ad heavy raid with unbuffed powers or light power revamp. The animation being off when cut scenes play. Character models feel boxy and 2012 model type... lastly, approx $225 to buy marks is crazy

We’re witnessing the 5 Stages of Grief with this episode. The anniversary event will be a “Thank you” letter with them announcing a shutdown. This was the starting point.

I used to keep my extra seasonal event currency for next year' feats and items. Now I spend it all because I don't think the game will make it another year.
Everything in the open world missions is designed to waste players' time. From not being able to pick up missions in one place to having weekly missions spread that don't end with knocking out the boss it seems like it's intended to artificially lengthen playing time so they can have better "engagement" stats. It's incredibly short sighted and stupid.
The devs have forgotten this is a GAME, it's supposed to be fun. The dumbest thing a dev can do is to sacrifice player enjoyment to achieve some metric.
I feel the dcuo community is somewhat on the same page in terms of how we feel towards devs. We should all agree to not drop a single dollar from this point on. And see how they take it. Someone like multiverse, obsidian chill and maybe others should be the ones to get the ball rolling .
One video correction: You have to do the journal missions and finish the solo and talk to harley again and you get the granted episode augments.

Your caught in a tough place Obsidian and I understand where your coming from. Especially since your channel is heavily centered around DCUO. I've followed you since you started making youtube videos and it's made me an elite player so thank you for that. This was the final straw for me and i've been playing since 2011. I'm no longer going to play a game that seems to want to "take away" granted things and sell it back to me while also alienate me from playing the game. I'll miss my characters but i'm breaking the chain it's had around me for over a decade. And with the way things are looking everyone's gonna be "forced" out the door anyway.
He could easily go review and play another game. I would.
"purposely designed to extend" that pretty much sums it up. If you don't have a lot of stuff to do and play, design the thing to make it longer to play and finish. Thanks for the quick summation.

The open world is a disaster at best. 2 things that would go a long way with getting players back is to make Stat Clamping optional and to lock Artifacts so swapping is impossible. Swapping undermines everything they tried to accomplish with the clamp and is breaking the game. My entire league quit after Stat Clamp went live. Many, many players quit between Revamp and The Clamp. Want those players back? There's 2 things that would go a long way to bring them back.
Also, based on what you're saying, it feels like there's less people working on DCU now. Because it wouldn't make any sense for them to just ignore those things. Like a "we won't hire new people to fix it faster, but we refuse to delay the release" type of situation.
This episode is an absolute joke. It's a mess. The quests are all over the place, like they decided to just drop the NPCs in random spots and call it a day. The second gear set is completely re-used from Episode 47. The omnipotent gear piece isn't even available and is currently bugged. The voice acting sucks. The animations are terrible. And the big elephant in the room...they added the ability to purchase episode currency for $200...it's clear they didn't care for this episode and rushed it out as quickly as possible to milk as much money as possible. They're not responding and they even blocked me on twitter for calling them out for this shit. The open world missions are just so grindy and slow as fuck and you have to fly all over the place it's such a mess...this is beyond a joke. They've shown their true colours with this episode

I only play DCUO. I enjoy the character creation. Are there no games that are similar to when DCUO was better? Back in the SuperPatriot, Orbit, and Trexlight days when Mepps would have live streams. I miss those days
Play City of Heroes
Its free now and you can use all the in game styles in the character creator
City of Heroes Homecoming is pretty much your only other option but it does get boring as you can only make a character for specific types of content as the game has dmg types.
So if you're strong against some things you will automatically die against other dmg types.
This does enforce playing in teams but it hinders the average solo player massively.
I do miss those days in dcuo too, guides were easy to find and could easily be relied on.

It sucks to see that the video I made years ago about why I stepped away from the game is still true to this day. Zero innovation, laziness, predictable behaviors…the dcuo community deserves SO much better than this. Sad.

I played this game from 2011 to 2016. I playing for a couple of years until my brother told me the game went free with episode content and i started playing again for episode 42 up until now. Since coming back it was like a new game with the introduction of allies and artifacts and ive had a blast for the most part. I say all this because ive never really been that negative towards dcuo (besides marketplace prices and time capsule odds). All that aside, this dlc has to singlehandedly be the worst thing this game has ever released. Worst world map and missions ever, super cringe dialogue, severe glitches (looking at you miracle) episode 47 gear in dlc, and YOU CAN BUY DLC TOKENS. this is up there with suicide squad imo, This was truly sad to experience.

Also, engagement is down because they don’t listen. They ignore players concerns or wants and just go “here’s a time capsule, here’s a booster bundle, here’s more ways to give us money!” Without actually updating the dang game in a way people want or fixing the bugs.

Hey Obsidian, just want to say that you’ve definitely made the game more enjoyable, crappy content or not from DCUO. Hopefully they definitely fix the game enough to make it fun again, but I’m uncertain of the future of the game. But nonetheless, thanks for still making it somewhat interesting and engaging. Keep it up man.

They haven't replied because they don't want the responsibility that comes from player blowback and feedback, whether good or bad.
So they would rather just be silent and do their work, since replying doesn't be compulsory for their positions.

So, I am kind of confused why is it getting acknowledged now and it is most definitely not getting fix right away considering how old the bug existed. Even sometimes combos wouldn't even give me the correct amount of amulet and ebon stacks sometimes.

Either way even if it's an old bug, that doesn't mean it can't be fixed. Otherwise they probably would have released the artifact.
There is more incentive to fix it since it now affects an artifact. 👍
Te style from vendor are not appealing so no one will grind for it and only 1 outfit
The game is getting worse for me. Recurring glitches when a specific teammate's character gets stuck somewhere in the run, but when I look at the mini map they're still going, and everyday the chat channels desynchronize so one or more channels stay all together while the rest keeps coming until you lose access to group chat or LFG. Also, sometimes my base gets some kind of lag that stops me from breaking stuff, so I have to leave and go back. All of that since the other update.
Why would i want a fucking cr skip when artifacts are so damn expensive. Used to run 8 characters, have since been decimated to 2 smh.
Yeah. Idk how they expect artifacts to work when a majority of the game doesn't even have 1 set of 200s. Let alone have multiple toons with 160+. Not to mention they won't even drop a x2 art exp. And they know how ridiculous hard grind wise arts are to level. Nonone wants to live on dcuo.😂
@@wavyrc8985 Exactly, they want people to play more? Ease the restrictions on alts. It's that simple, we don't need dailies to be longer. Hell, if it's easier on the devs we don't need instances to be longer. Just make it worth it to go and replay the mission with a different build ffs.
I am NOT surprised. They already said they aren't really interested in doing a lot with this game. It's sad because I have sank over 3000 hours and who knows how much money.
Starting to lose hope on this game
Covid time was the highest population for my league. Found them at the beginning of lockdown. We Al l still chill in party chat and all but we’ve all mostly migrated from DC. I’m the most devoted and still get in but even as of recently I’m playing other shit and just giving DC my bare bones attention. It’s really sad cause I love my characters and I still love the game at its core. They just keep digging themselves deeper and deeper into a grave. In all honesty I’d love to see Epic games but DCUO from daybreak or WG7 and they could revamp it

Been playing this game since I was 16 I’m 24 now and yesterday I caught myself on dcuo for the whole day , still a fun Grindy game
It’s not up to one player or any player(s) to “make dc a better game”. Players can make dc a better community but that has no influence on content, dev decisions, etc. especially since the devs have BEEN out of touch with the community for a while now. Most dev decisions have not been in the best interest of the players and I can’t help but feel that that is one of the main contributing factors in the lack of engagement and thus the downward spiral of the game. With every financial cash grab they take away a f2p aspect like with wolfpacks introduced it likely that we never see 2X artifact xp, and now with purchasable currency it’s likely that we never see 2X/3X marks. The soul of this game has been deteriorating since time capsules imo and i honestly wouldn’t mind if it got scrapped tomorrow
Daybreak has essentially given up on the game and will just let run on auto with no fixes until ppl stop coming back and buying stuff
I totally agree with this. After soooo many years and 885sp I have hung up my cape. This DLC is proof that the end is here, not nigh, here. They are trying to squeeze as much cash out of the player base before they pull the plug. I hate the thought of it dying and it hurts to walk away but I cannot support the direction that the Devs are going, it's a slap in the face to those of us who have ground out the game over several years.

You don’t have to buy the aug you have to complete the solo and it gives you them like normal but why you have to do the solo to get them now is a mystery to me

The content was rushed and you can tell how the expansion was layed out for players but this has become norm for DCUO, the devs doesn't care about their players but they care more about the money they get from players, their mindset is a complete fart, if your players are paying for the game you should be more dedicated to developing a game that is more welcoming and to grab more players but their solutions seem to be release it then let them pay for the coins and then that's it
Can we also talk about how the story animations look like crap? Harley's voice actor is terrible but they can't even put her hammer in her hand because the model rig for female characters is broken and there's no facial expressions for anyone. This game is so antiquated, it needs to die.
There are people who make machinemas for older games and their cutscenes look infinitely better, their characters even have facial expressions.

It's unacceptable to me to release a product that's so badly unfinished and lacking, they should be embarrassed that they released this. It's like buying a car but the engine and headlights are missing and it only has two wheels and the radio will only play polka music. I would rather them postpone it than release it unfinished and broken, I can be very understanding if they would communicate with the players, but they won't, and we get this... If this is supposed to get me playing more often it had the opposite effect. It feels like they're just half-assing, milking what they can until the game dies off. With no promise of any graphics or engine improvements, we can only assume this episode is the new normal, and the pay to win will only get worse as time ticks on. Soon you'll be able to buy renown and feats with marketplace cash.

I feel like the biggest things that could work to bring people back is to maybe not 2.0 but Warframe had a HUGE resurgence when they reworked core components!
I feel like a refresh on movement as a rough example could be awesome! Star Trek online added a 'shooter toggle' that you hit a button and the MMORPG like DCUO turns into a third person shooter!

If it helps retain new players I'm all for it. Skip to 368 cr and 300 sp. Those "earn ya SP" types, are gatekeeping and running this game into the grave that much quicker. It doesn't make me feel special because I have more sp than most people.

Respectfully what are the devs doing. Like they want people to play but won’t connect all three servers together (ps,pc,and Xbox) like it’s DEAD on Xbox and it makes it hard to even play so ofc people are gonna leave… then we dropping random stuff like why are we getting a cr skip randomly like let the new players explore before giving them a cr skip it doesn’t make sense
PS and PC players are on the same server already. Everyone else is on their own server.

All I want them to do is to add some simple things like take every style from the daily log in rewards and add it to the marketplace so they can start making money that way instead of selling currency to the new DLC. I would also like them to increase the base item limit from 700 to 1,000.

Whole booster gold vendor should change to source marks. Only 3 most recent caps should be worth quarks. Same way they add things to fate vendor. For a more obtainable currency ( somewhat)
ngl I would play this game more often when I could transfer my account from playstation to pc but u cant... The Laggs on the Console version are really bad and u cant really swap arts like u wanna do. Pls bring the option to transfer the accounts
Dcuo as u said, was a great game. But as we grow in life, we learn 2 things. There is life and eventualy death. Keeping someone or something that has no pulse, is self torture. Its time to say our goodbye, and let it go. It was fun, all the way. Cheers and gl to all

This game has fucked me for the last time. Bought 25 open capsules and 20 of the gave me leggings. The rest were shoulders. Then I saw that we got a gift to up the CR, Iwas happy. cause I'm not very good at games. When I opened the box to get the gear, it made my inventory full and couldn't use anything. So I went to sell some crap, but all I could sell was the new gear!! Instead of getting over 300cr ended up being a hundred. Nope, this game is not good enough for me to put up with this crap. Buh-bye dcuo.😢😅
The game has lasted about a decade, right? That's a successful game. It's time to move on, or just play every now and then. I treat Black Desert and Elder Scrolls the same way.
Leg the game die already. It’s best days are way behind us, they don’t upgrade the graphics, PVP is dead, they just keep recycling content, the game crashes a lot, and now with buying coins in the marketplace now, it’s time to just let this game die.

I wish they would give this game an opportunity to flourish by allowing someone with the capabilities, financing, and time to bring the game up to par. We as players have proven our loyalty and continue to support the game despite releasing unfinished content.

The brainiac DLC is more put together than this one this one literary it's like they just rushed it like in the day.
The thing that ticked me off that this episode was half-baked was the cutscenes. They look incredibly janky, especially compared to scenes from years ago.

there's no expectations to be had on this game for a long time chill, this is the reality this game is cooked, they putting the dlc currency on the marketplace feels like a final cash grab before the ship sinks, but imo i think they can sink further if they put renown for sale too.

How you didnt get the op belt i got it straight up after the journal mission ? some guys reported a bug with mister terrific. it got fixed after few hours. still the episode release is a DISASTER i agree 100% with your 2 videos on it

You do get the augments granted. Do the solo right away. After you finish, you talk to Harley and are granted the augments. They could, of course, let the player know....

The fact dc doesn’t listen to the community is making me want to pull out from this game I can’t be they had a month to fix all these issues and they didn’t do anything when players was voicing their opinions what’s the point of a test server
Play Final Fantasy XIV. It's a far superior MMO and the dev team has won awards for their level of communication with the players.

Ya know, there are private servers that can be made for MMOs (Ragezone). Black Desert Online has several that work independently from the official server but it's not legal. My point is EG7 took over and is killing our game and had they not bought Day Break we wouldn't be in this position. So, in short, they came out of left field and killed our game. It's our game. So yeah, private servers.
