- This is an episode of my series Adventures with Trawler Yacht Whitehorse, my Grand Banks 36. 2022 I bought my motoryacht Whitehorse. This is a video of my first visit to the boat in France and the sea trial.
This was a great description of that process of looking for and buying a boat. I was glad to get the European perspective. Ultimately not that different than in the US.
Thanks for your comment, nice to learn that you got some new perspective. The biggest difference between Europe and US is probably the different customs and legal conditions in the various countries in Europe.
Good choice…you can’t really go wrong with a Grand Banks…they have a well deserved reputation for being safe and seaworthy and even a 50 year old model is a beautiful and classic design…well done.
Yes, I am very happy with my choice of boat, I love sailing with it and never had experienced that I felt unsafe, all the while having respect of the sea.
You have a great boat 🚢 .
Yes, I like it very much 🛥️
What a great adventure Sea Captain Dieter!
Thank you ❤️ I trust you will like the episodes of this journey of my lifetime. It was a great experience. And my old lady Whitehorse didn't fail me even in the worst stormy sea 🛥️
Nice project! Can be interesting to hear about boattrips in norwegian fiords!
Thanks, I plan to make some trips this summer. Last summer was very cold and wet here, so that we only could do one 3 days journey, which I will publish sometime this spring.
This is very interesting! I can't wait to virtually partake in your ordeals crossing the oceans back to Norway with your beautiful boat!
Thank you ❤️
Klasse!!
Herzlichen Dank! Viel Spass beim Weitersehen 👌
Beautiful boat. She looks like a twin to my 1973 GB 36.
Thank you, there is still a lot of work to do, especially with thee teak. You boat and mine are nearly the same age, as mine is 1974, one of the first made with GRP material. I am looking forward to this years boating season, where I want to explore more of the Norwegian Coast.
@@cruisinggrandbanks36whiteh48 I understand what you are saying. I bought mine in 2020 for a pretty cheap price that reflected the amount of work it needed (needs). I am doing it all myself while I hold a full-time job, but it is part of the fun and satisfaction. Best of luck to you.
@@cruisinggrandbanks36whiteh48I forgot to mention that mine is also FG. I am told 1973 was the first year the 36 Classics were built in this material. It is a tank.
I subscribe.
Thank you very much, there will be many more videos coming 🙂
I have a 1974 42 classic. What year is yours and does it have a wood hull? Looking forward to seeing your adventures.
My boat is a Grand Banks 36 Classic, built in 1974, one of the first GRP of Grand Banks. It is quite heavy and the GRP seems very strong and thick.
