I like how your videos are catered for genuine DIY people. Not using thousands of dollars equipment and keeping it simple. Thanks for your videos. Keep going!
“Genuine DIY people” also have thousands of dollars worth of equipment. $200 x 5 tools is $1000; consequently just a few tools adds up quick. That said, you don’t need a $5000 cast iron table saw to get started. Just buy whatever you can afford and get off the couch!
Hahhaha so cool, after been an avid UA-cam woodworking watcher I found this jewel. What a great video, and trust me I seen tons. Well new member here for sure and looking forward more
Great set of tables Jess. I’m looking for something similar to make.. I think I like this design best! 👍. Thank you for taking the time to make this video! 🙏
Found your channel today. Not sure how. Many subscribers you had when this video was put out. But you have one more now. I’m sure you will hit your goal. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, glad you liked them. This was actually the second time only that I threw something together first in SketchUp. So I could show my parents the design first. The other time was the bathroom vanity because I needed to see in person if my measurements and sink would fit before I built it lol.
Thanks! Haha actually I've only heard I look like him a couple times now, most people have been saying Canelo Alvarez. But I think Kevin more so, at least we're both Canadian lol
Could you tell me how many 1x6x8 and 1x8x8 poplar boards did you have to buy, try to get a ball park cost of lumber before I buy the plans to build the end table
@@JessedoesDIYMy first miter was a 10” Hitachi. I still use it for remote work because it’s so portable. For the shop, I finally purchased a big DeWalt compound dual bevel sliding saw and mounted it on a portable work bench. Spent about an hour calibrating all axis to zero, and haven’t had an issue since.
Thanks. Poplar is probably the most common wood used in painted projects. But it's also the last expensive hardwood most of the time and that's a big jump up from softwood in term of quality, density and robustness. Tried to balance all of that with cost
Agreed, poplar is the best for painted projects. I often come across roadside furniture finds, and during disassembly can salvage quite a bit of poplar, then toss the particle board.

Looks really nice! I really like the look of a stained top with a painted body.
Thanks! I'm stoked with the colour combo, it looks so good

Thanks so much! 😊I'm glad you like them. Good luck on yours, I hope to see them when you're done
Nice video. Lack of shiny, expensive tools more than offset by levels of design and craftsmanship.
Appreciate it! You can make lots of things with relatively basic tools and a few nice touches
Love the cement porch sidewalk off the deck keep up the good work.

Great video! Just bought your plans …
Awesome, thanks so much!
Beautiful end tables. Thank you for sharing. I'm learning a lot from your videos. Do you use software to design your work pieces?
Thanks, glad you liked them. This was actually the second time only that I threw something together first in SketchUp. So I could show my parents the design first. The other time was the bathroom vanity because I needed to see in person if my measurements and sink would fit before I built it lol.
Hey, look! You’re at 100k subs!
i am!
Is there anything as satisfying as cutting edge banding?
It's pretty great when you get a nice smooth cut

Your very talented, great video
Thanks, appreciate it!
Great Job
Thanks!
BRAVO
Thanks!
Do you have to account for seasonal wood movement ?
You do, and I did where it needed it. It's all in the plans
What is the radius of the bead moulding bit that you used? Such a nice detail!
The bead is 5/16". I have a link to the exact bit I used in the description. I really like that profile, glad you do too
Could you tell me how many 1x6x8 and 1x8x8 poplar boards did you have to buy, try to get a ball park cost of lumber before I buy the plans to build the end table
1 of each of those, 1 1x3x6 and 2 1x2. But it depends on the wood you use. I used poplar for both and ran me about $400 to make both tables in Canada
What paint sprayer are you using? Is it hard to figure out?
It's a wagner flexio, and it was at the time. I have a review on it from a couple years ago.
So the drawer front is quarter inch smaller than the opening?
Yup
Plans available. how do i get plans?
They are linked in the description or you can go to Etsy and search Jesse Does DIY
Did you use topcoat on end table base?
Just the paint
Nice! ☕️🎸✌️🤘
Thanks!
What species of wood did you use?
Poplar for the wood, birch for the ply
Does that ryobi miter keep accuracy?
Honestly, no. Even mine is off slightly and I cannot get it back straight. I'm looking for another.

Nice, but made from Poplar?
Thanks. Poplar is probably the most common wood used in painted projects. But it's also the last expensive hardwood most of the time and that's a big jump up from softwood in term of quality, density and robustness. Tried to balance all of that with cost

i like the video feel like there was a bit of lacking on the directions as far as measurements and such
Thanks. At first I kind've figure it out as I go. But I do have build plans for them now
'Promo sm' 😅
