I was 15 when I first heard "Last of the Famous International Playboys". I'm 36 now and still listen to Morrissey and The Smiths nearly every day. He's been with me 21 years now :-)
Reminds me a lot of John lennons way of thinking ,writing songs about who and what he is and thinks ,in fact John Lennon said a lot of similar things ,two absolute genius in my book .
One requires a 'big ego' to handle all the crap around pop music. I don't blame him to be an enlightened original singer, songwriter. McCartney's over rated
his interview with dermot oleary a few weeks ago was a lot different to this. He was portrayed to be quite rude in the Dermot Oleary one...as he usually is portrayed
He was chunky you mean. Middle aged people put on weight because of diminished metabolism. I'm sure at his heaviest his BMI was still between 20-25. That's not fat. That's a tad bit overweight.

You must be 45 now? Do you still listen to Morrissey and The Smiths nearly every day?
The "M" word...haha
Love this interview!!
Morrissey I love you but let's be honest. The one with the "biggest ego of the planet" is you. Many pop and rock stars actually seem quite humble
Plenty are worse. Madonna, Diana Ross, Gene Simmons, Axl Rose....
And Frank Sinatra, God rest his big headed soul....
And let's be honest, if you were that talented, admired, loved, witty, and handsome you'd have a big ego too.
morrissey is a god ive met the man and spoke to him.he is a legend
You're in some confusion about what constitutes a god.
@@jimnewcombe7584 I don't believe in God or gods but he is as close as it gets.
A very relaxed moz. And the result is a really good and interesting interview. Enjoy!
Finally, a good interviewer too! It seems like Moz always ends up with the most ignorant interviewers in other cases!
Interesting & informative...thanks Moz!!

morrissey sounds very chirpy and comfortable during this interview, delightful to hear

He wouldn't be that depressing to Karl. Karl has read up on the "loneliest man in the world....ever"
Is he lonely though? He constantly says he loves his own company and doesn't understand why people want to be in the company of other people.
Thanks so much for posting.
thankyou so much for sharing this, I missed it in 2004.
look forward to more rare gems.. (i could listen to him talk all day.. mmmm Morrissey)
His speaking voice is as sexy as his singing voice.
Honest and intelligent
Love you Moz my idol glad your in good spirits here adore quarry and southpaw one of my favs to so underrated
really appreciate this. thanks.
liked this one a lot!
XFM in 2004? Damn, he could have been interviewed by Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. What could have been!
Karl and Moz could have shared stories of manchester
This seems like the real Morrissey. It's nice to hear.
Funtastic interview Morrissey.
who gives a shit about chart positions
Thank you for uploading xxx
Lovely editing mate, and great interview.!
I thought he said "NEIL Young at 3.00" - I was about to launch myself at the screen. It would have been Jimmy Through the Looking Glass.
Can you explain why please?
Im intrigued by him abit, he seems to have a huge effect on people.
@DarlinJacq 🤪
I'm the opposite of Morrissey. I find the food in England repulsive and the food in America better. But then I'm not a complete vegetarian.

Dermot O'Dreary is not a good interviewer in my humble opinion.
Nice interview.
'You Are The Curry' another comical morrisey play on words.
@JohnPurchaseArt haha! that would be awesome!!!
21:28
What's the lip synccer he mentions around 21:20?
Lipsynca. A drag queen.
*lypsinka
12:25... "Fewer reasons," not "less".
I saw Moz in Farm Foods yesterday. He looked fat and depressed.
He looks way better than you lmao
I take it you weren't being serious.
