When a bauble or a gear in your inventory ( those 37 slots :v) it reroll and choose randomly a affix. Life steal, +armor,+health,+ armor toughness, +magic resis, ect
RAD 2 would be better if you have friends to play with, Prominence will be a kitchen sink pack if you play like me. So for single player I would choose Prominence.
