One of my few winners of the day...he's been good to me before. I got worried when he made that first move coming into the lane. The rider knew what he had underneath him.the horse is truly a champion. He can run all day long. Wasn't too happy with the price. But just to see him show his class was worth it.
That’s because this is the live race commentary and Jayarbee finished the race. He didn’t collapse during the race, or crossing the line. To run the video through to where they cut to the ambulance etc would have been very ghoulish. A very sad occurrence that can happen to any top athlete, football players have collapsed on the pitch, runners whilst running. No one can see this happening; racehorses are incredibly looked after and monitored, but sometimes things happen. It’s upsetting and my condolences to all the connections.
@@ianarnett Agree with what you said. But a related point: this is not the full post-race commentary. I missed the broadcast. : ( Do you know if Jayarbee's collapse was mentioned on air, later?
@@marysueeasteregg there was a lot of reporting of it subsequently. Not too intrusive but they showed the horse ambulance and interviewed the chief veterinarian, twice. They also commented about how the animals are tested and checked thoroughly, but like human beings, no one can predict this sort of thing as it can happen to top athletes.
I love to watch horse race on tv! I liove horses they are loveable; caring! Warmth; i Detest Animal Cruelty; animals Have Rights Also! It is a 😎 Day! It is a raunny Autumn Day November 2024😢😢😢😢😢😢
It was beautiful weather in the San Diego area on Saturday as the telecast captures. For those of us who both watch racing or are even fans, but care about their well being and are emotionally afffected when one is hurt or worse, there is positive data to report. The pressure put on Santa Anita and the response of Santa Anita and then other tracks to improve racehorse welfare, showed that many tracks were simply ignorant of what positive changes were feasible, or simply didn’t have the will prior or was too frugal to enact policy reforms that have proven to have significantly affect the safety of the sport. At Santa Anita and Del Mar, the likelihood of a horse running in a race suffering a fatal injury has plummeted to levels that are harbor like me can barely believe but am grateful for. Of course these tracks represent the elite, and the story could be less rosy at smaller tracks. But the major tracks must set the example, show that safety, the quality of product, and revenue can all by positively related.
Beautiful and fast Horses.

yep would have gone close.
Frankie always gets trapped on the inside terrible jockey
Race Call:
Larry Collmus
Have no doubt this horse could win as a stayer also if Charlie Appleby & Godolphin ever decided they wanted to go that way with him.
