The purpose of a show isn't to be realistic, it's to be entertaining. Realism is preferred as it gives context to watchers, helps not break immersion, and is generally easier to write, but if realism gets in the way of entertainment or gets too difficult to write well, then it shouldn't be clung to. Punches in movies are more dramatic because drama is entertaining and it ruins almost nobody's immersion, so it's a good idea to keep it that way. Also, I'm sure if house merely acted shocked but didn't react much physically, you'd have a small handful of other people saying it's unrealistic that an old disabled guy could take a punch so well. Many, many times in fiction you will have two opposing groups who you cannot both satisfy. Instead of balancing between them and possibly upsetting both, it's generally preferred to rely on your largest audience.
Well, I do Muay Thai and boxing, and get puched a lot in the face. I'd say you are MOSTLY correct. Specially when you are expecting the punch, most times it wont be dramatic like that. But some times, when it comes from a bigger person, some punches just knock you out of your feet and you fall, not even because of dizziness, just the sheer power of it throwing you out of the floor. That feels like those dramatic scenes. In other instances, when you get knocked out, the punch might take you out for a second, and when you come back you are sitting on the floor and take a second to understand what happened. Thats a similar feeling to those scenes again. The face wiping is a bit wrong, not because it doesn't happen, but because in those instances you are more preocupied in the shame/confusion of having fallen by a normal looking punch, you most likely are trying to get back up instantly. Checking for blood comes after.
The best was when House berated Cuddy while she was in the shower with the child patient. About how she'd make a terrible mother. And later she tells Wilson that people think House has no filter when in fact he holds himself back. Because when he wants to really hurt he knows just where to poke a sharp stick. That felt like the actors were really getting in touch w/ people they knew like that.

Might be the best casting of tv history with house
Foreman has always been the worst
Dr house being dr house forever 😂😏😉🙌
bro house is so silly how could anyone hate him
After seeing this video I cannot stand what Cuddy did to house
"You should be me when I'm busy😉😜"
the thumbnail 💀💀💀
Man this is the best tv show ever
IM COPING!!!
Did house just marry a stranger 😂😂
The first season is almost hard to watch compared to season 3 & on. Almost though, I definitely still watch it.
Isn't House just the Charlie Bunker of doctors?
7:21 👐
Not enough people talking about how house tried to kill a man at the end
It's Fiction.
@@quack10 Yeah and he fictionally tried to kill a man, which I figured would fictionally overshadow his other fictional infractions
poor chase lol
wow this sucks. 8 more seasons please
The universe has it out for me too.And I don't have near the intelligence that that he has, it doesn't want to kill me just make my life miserable because i am not doing something right
Cameron was the most annoying dr on the show stg always on some moral tirade
What did Abode mean by this?
"Worst" is kinda harsh. I prefer "chaotic neutral".
