House is very lucky that Wilson did not press charges against him.
iirc it was also because of the swapped cup.
Wilson thought that house did something to the cup he was offered so he took the other one which is the actual dosed one

i cannot get over the brilliance of the script writters for this series.
Brilliant would have been making it medically accurate… and not following the same script line everytime. Every episode is basically the same.
@@62sy You don't get it
@@62syand that’s why it’s a sitcom
@@62sycasualty from BBC has been going since 1986 and has 1340+ episodes that are essentially all the same. It’s even more samey-samey than house. Great show though, even better that it’s actually really medically accurate.
Brilliance? No, absolutely not. I loved House when I was younger. Now that I'm older and learned quite a bit about medicine (especially psychiatrics) half of the episodes are just awful. They routinely consider diagnosis' although obvious tells aren't there. They exhibit less medical knowledge then a med student in his first year - in one episode they were stumped what the symptom "throat spasms when the patient tries to drink water" could mean - which is the famous tell for Rabies. And for example in this vid @13:00 - a psychiatric doctor would never confront a delusional patient like that in a group setting, especially not when he might get violent while agitated. And I find it very hard to believe that House, the brilliant doctor that he is, would ever feed into a delusion, no matter how much he wanted to show it to the lead doc.
Don't get me wrong, its a good series. And TV (or papers, youtube and any entertainment) routinely sacrifices accuracy for drama and action. But that's why I wouldn't call the script brilliant, because it is just too fantasy and inaccuracy in it.
(It also has some wildly sexist scenes in it that are simply disgusting)
Love how wilson said "She's better off without you," pretty much perfectly clearly before immediately passing out 🤣 Put all of his last bit of consciousness into that jab

13:07 Was the only point where House was completely in the right. That doctor should not have been trying to disprove the delusion in public. It's humiliating, for one, but it's also completely useless.
Yes, but House is also no psychiatrist, and feeding into a dangerous delusion can have worse consequences. Both practices are wrong.
The thumbnail is so insane and over the top, I love it.
I was so fucking upset when he burned the letter. All he had to do was tell her it arrived and that he would like to have her stay, but NO, House doesn't get to be happy and it angers me so

The best was when House berated Cuddy while she was in the shower with the child patient. About how she'd make a terrible mother. And later she tells Wilson that people think House has no filter when in fact he holds himself back. Because when he wants to really hurt he knows just where to poke a sharp stick. That felt like the actors were really getting in touch w/ people they knew like that.
I agree, except that the second word should be "worst" not "best".
@@neilpemberton5523 Probably meant it in a sense of that being the best example of his crude behavior.
@AvatarBowler The best examples are when House picks on someone capable of fighting back. Like when he made a comment to newly single Chase and got his head punched. That's an example of the 'best'. But to make it a worthwhile show, House has to be a monster at times. That's why he and Cuddy can't be together forever. I love this show, by the way!
6:36 I never noticed this till I had my medical degree and COVID hit and now the fact that Wilson didn't notice that his saturation was 86 as well drives me nuts everytime I see it
I thought it was 92 and his BP was 185/86...no?
@@scourge8097185 Is the current heartbeat, 86 is the current blood pressure he has, next to those big numbers you can see small numbers, the 90 is the oxygen saturation in the blood, 140/50 is like a scale of how high or low the blood pressure can go, if 86 is the minimum, well, i dare to say that's not good, and that's why you don't do drugs
That's a Masimo Radical SET 7, it displays SpO2, pulse rate, photo plethysmograph, perfusion index and Signal IQ waveform.

Good god. House criticizing 13 for having 12% interest on a car loan is just telling of how bad it really is now. Most people would kill for a 12% interest loan nowadays.
What? You can get a 7% interest loan on a new car, even lower if there’s a special promotion going on. Used cars are around 11% if you have good credit

In the Cameron-Foreman fight, House (albe inappropriately) made a point that Cameron needed to hear: the academic paper could wait.

I get the feeling that most hollywood writers have never been punched in the face, because they always write it as this hugely dramatic fall and wipe of the lip. Honestly, getting sucker punched by someone who didn't do some huge windup is more like 'what was that' than 'oh god I'm down'
😂 you haven't watched House, he's been punch and shot for the things he's said and done
@@tillmen4444 ... Did you mean to respond to a different comment? Like, one that relates to what you wrote? 😂
Of course, it wouldn't be anywhere near as good for the cameras if it was realistic lol. Though, not like House is famed for its realism.
The purpose of a show isn't to be realistic, it's to be entertaining. Realism is preferred as it gives context to watchers, helps not break immersion, and is generally easier to write, but if realism gets in the way of entertainment or gets too difficult to write well, then it shouldn't be clung to. Punches in movies are more dramatic because drama is entertaining and it ruins almost nobody's immersion, so it's a good idea to keep it that way.
Also, I'm sure if house merely acted shocked but didn't react much physically, you'd have a small handful of other people saying it's unrealistic that an old disabled guy could take a punch so well. Many, many times in fiction you will have two opposing groups who you cannot both satisfy. Instead of balancing between them and possibly upsetting both, it's generally preferred to rely on your largest audience.
Well, I do Muay Thai and boxing, and get puched a lot in the face.
I'd say you are MOSTLY correct. Specially when you are expecting the punch, most times it wont be dramatic like that. But some times, when it comes from a bigger person, some punches just knock you out of your feet and you fall, not even because of dizziness, just the sheer power of it throwing you out of the floor. That feels like those dramatic scenes.
In other instances, when you get knocked out, the punch might take you out for a second, and when you come back you are sitting on the floor and take a second to understand what happened. Thats a similar feeling to those scenes again.
The face wiping is a bit wrong, not because it doesn't happen, but because in those instances you are more preocupied in the shame/confusion of having fallen by a normal looking punch, you most likely are trying to get back up instantly. Checking for blood comes after.
There are so many things house did that should be inexcusable even within the context of the show.
“Words can hurt ya know” - house
I finished House the other day, honestly I don’t think I’ll find a series like it ever again but I’m very lucky to have watched it from start to finish for the first time and relatively spoiler free
You can see the progression of how awful society is to House. His own words of people being scum, liars, and selfish always ends up proving true or true to a different extent. While all of his actions are inexcusable, most are understood. House is kind of an anti-hero to this series. Yeah he saves lives, but lacks so much social intelligence that he destroys any relationship he gets into. Everyone barely tolerates him, including Wilson.
I have heard the true ending to House MD was going to be a happy one. House finally repairs relationships and gets with Cuddy again. I would've loved that ending personally
That would have been an incredibly unrealistic ending 😭
I imagine the nameless doctor going to South American favalas and treating people, kind of as a penance for his former misanthropic ways.
That’s not what people like House get. He acknowledges this when he cuts off Stacy for good. And it’s not what he deserves either. Faking his death to run away with Wilson is only a start for a redemption arc with how much he’s done over the years.
They’re antidepressants not anti annoyances.
As someone whos done Uppers, Yawning afterwards is common (Atleast for myself) during comedown which is what Wilson is doing. So not sure if that part is correct
Amphetamines aren't going to kill you. I"M ON SPEEEEEED!!!!
Lol this channel is going hard!! now that Thanksgiving and the rest of the holidays are speeding our way this channel has all the time to make content
House should have stayed with Dominika. She developed feelings for him so did he. Really a letdown in the series for me.
Did House TRY to kill someone when he ran his car through the wall right at the table where people had just been seated?
I think the writers could justify that he might've noticed that they were cleaning up and he deduced that they wouldn't be at the table by the time he drove through Cuddy's home - but yeah, in my book unless he was secretly psychic in the show - that was attempted murder
I don't think he careed at that moment if he killed anybody or not, he just wanted to release all his anger out
no, you can see in the ep that he's watching the window and knows where everyone is. Also, this was only done to give Cuddy finally a reason to leave the show, so its dubious whether it was a real in-character moment anyway
It's stated later that he observed they were moving out of the room, and was able to see again that it was empty while driving up. This is when he's defending himself so you can possibly take it with a grain of salt.
@@Sylvia-t1f Yes but it would take only a second or two to step back into the line of fire. I don't think House would take that chance, but he DID! Anyway great show and I miss it. One of the greatest series enders in TV history.
I think of House as the emotional worst-case scenario of depression and pain. Dude needs therapy so bad I want to cry listening to his logic.

That scene where he drives the car into Cuddy's home....Just kills me inside. Cuddy would have been within her rights to "off" him right then and there.

What beautiful auburn hair Cameron has while blocking House by the doorway
He saw they went up and Cuddy told them to move to the kitchen( you can see they get up). Then he proceeds to give the comb the way he did , knowing no one was there. He was looking for the effect of doing something irrational, without the heavy punishment ( like crippling someone).
@@georginaydenov5681 i just watched it again, and youre wrong. for all he knew, they were still at the table.
@@georginaydenov5681even so how would he know there would be nobody there?
People who watch the show think house is a genius who knows everything when in reality he’s a broken man with a genius brain.. he knew what he was going to do and knew that someone might go back in the room… he just took that chance because he didn’t care.
Before this he was just a danger to himself but after this moment he was shown to be a danger to others, it’s why cuddy wouldn’t even be near him anymore.
13:25 this part really was fucked up on the part of the mental institution.
4:31
House at his lowest. 😢
i think that would be the lowest of his lows. he run into a house full of people just to give a comb to cuddy. if that is not the lowest i dont know what is
In many ways, I think House was delivering a message Cuddy needed to hear, but it's incredibly harsh on the way that it was worded and said. Cuddy almost always does this with children that come into the hospital, and she's almost useless everyone one comes in. The worst has to be when the babies in the NICU fell ill.
It's by far one of the cruellest things he said, but I think his lowest point had to have been the harm he caused out of anger; strangling the patient, sabotaging the MRI, driving into Cuddy's house.
If it's Saturday it's House MD
House always makes me laugh with his sarcasm 😂 Hugh Laurie is so awesome as house 😍

HOUSE BABY YEAAAAH
Why is the freedom master part here?
That was probably one of the nicest things house has done ever
FM jumping was pretty much out of his control
He's a doctor, he knew full well the potential consequences of enabling and actively confirming a patient's delusion when that delusion can endanger the patient. If the delusion is that the patient can fly if he jumps, don't encourage him to jump. But he still decided to poke the bear just to prove another doctor wrong, even though House himself was much less qualified to handle that patient.
House himself eventually became aware of what he'd done only to stick it to someone he disliked. He knew the potential consequences but ignored them. That's why he asked for help, realising what he'd done. It was the same scenario as when he called the stripper Caramel to Chase's bachelor party--unconsciously he knew the whole time what would happen. Except that this time, as a doctor, he 100% knew better and could predict the outcome.
@@sarahlelys9268 I think that's true that he wanted to stick it to "the man', but i also believe there was a genuine, if misguided attempt on making FM happy.
Whether he likes it or not, he grew attached to people there even if it's in a very small way, and that clouded his objective and calculated mind.
@@KeyToWite I have to agree. One of the only times I can remember seeing House smile in what looked to be a genuine, sincere way is when he and FM were "flying".
