- It's part 2 of my huge attic clean out! Decluttering my attic is turning out to be an enormous task. Huge! This is my second attempts at decluttering and organizing my attic and this time I'm really focussing on getting rid of clutter and rubbish. This is about as far from minimalism as you could imagine, but we've got to start somewhere, right?

I have to ask..what is that large bucket of water in your attic that has a float in it? I have never seen anything like that before. It looks like the sump pump we have in our basement!
Ok, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that's the hot water heater for the central heating system in the house. Every now and then it would make a weird noise and water would drain out of it. I think it was for the radiators downstairs.
@@AimeeRebecca Ahhh..ok. That makes sense.
Lols, very good progress, so much paper!! ... to be honest you could live without most of that stuff! Just keep chipping away at it, maybe pull it down a box at a time once charity shops open again. Very satisfying just seeing like items put together 🙂🙂🙂
Soooo much paper! 😂 I'm really looking forward to the end result. I'm just keeping that image in mind.
Was wondering if you were going to brave the scary attick again. Good for you. 👏👏👏👏💖
Haha thank you!!
I love ❤️ your videos, they help me get thru COVID
That makes me so happy to hear. Thank you! ❤️
Great decluttering video! Attics must be today's theme because I was just watching A Charming Abode and they did an attic clutter/reno. There is also a Halloween skeleton in their video! You should check it out, they put up peg boards for pictures & wreaths and had interesting lighting, shelving and storage ideas.
Oooh I'm definitely going to it out. I'm always ready to watch decluttering videos!
Our attic is basically an entire second floor not making it a livable space saves like 400 euros on taxes alone. It is well isolated but not heated at all, my partner freezes is ass off and I am just going through stuff in pj shorts and a thin t-shirt. I feel like I am almost done with my stuff in the main room and I am slowly one box at a time letting my partner put everything in chiquita banana boxes. So when we move we can just put the boxes in the car and everything is already ready.
How exciting! It's must feel so good to be organised before moving. I definitely want to make sure I've parted with all my clutter before I move again. Dragging junk from one place to another is such a waste of time!
And this is why I get panicked about having an attic, my parents never had one so there wasn’t this place where they could put all this stuff, and I now have one in my house and just refuse to put much up there lol
Looks like an old water tank
I think that's the best way to be! Once you start storing stuff in there it just becomes a place to hoard junk 😂
I wanted to get up in my attic and go through a couple of things, but it is -40C here🇨🇦 and the attic is unheated🥶....
Waiting for spring!!!
NOOO!! That is insane! I refuse to go outside when it gets below 2C. -40?! How do you cope?
Loving that 70’s style flowery suitcase that was popping up in some shots!
Thanks! It's so easy to spot at the airport 😂
You’re very brave for dealing with the attic😂 my mom is that type of person that keeps everything from my childhood and other stuff. The only reason why I go to the attic is for Christmas decorations.
Attics are the worst! They just accumulate so much junk 😂
There’s definitely progress being made! Loving this decluttering series 😊💫
Slowly but surely! I'm so glad you're enjoying it
I love your oddsquad hoodie
Thank you! It's so cosy! 🙂 I have some in my Etsy shop if you're interested: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/OddsquadDesigns?ref=search_shop_redirect§ion_id=30531006
Is that a pink abs blue suitcase? I’m in love with it 😂
Yes! 😂 For some reason we have about a million suitcases haha
I looooove you 😍
Aww love you toooooo!
I was actually thinking about your attic lately, here it is! :-)
I am doing the same thing as you do in a kind of big room that I have in my house, and I found out that pulling out small chunks of stuff and sorting them little by little out of my big room, by sitting on a chair or even at a table, gave me more time to think about what to do with these things. I thought that I was going nowhere but actually, little by little, I see a huge difference in that room. I can actually walk around now without falling over things on the floor and I threw away a lot! And sold a lot online. It became exciting now. And very lucrative... :-)
That's so motivating! It's great to hear that you've made so much progress and it's definitely encouraging :D
Well done
Thank you!
@@AimeeRebecca Welcome!
This reminds me of my phase when i went through my stuff in the attic and got rid of two thirds of it. Mostly of it was trash. I don't know how many plastic bags i found up there and how many broken toys. I never had a habit of decluttering and i held on to everything that i put my hands on. In retrospection i lived in a room full of organized stuff but never had a sense of style or whatever. Got rid of so much and i am still in the process because some of the things are with my parents and some in my flat. I had huge problems to let go gifts for a while but in the end they didn't added something good to my life.
Wow it sounds like you went through a really big process. It must feel so good to get rid of so much. I used to hold onto to everything too so I understand how quickly things can pile up.
@@AimeeRebecca Yes it was a lot but i have seen some people here on UA-cam that had much much more. I am also a taylor and i kept every fabric and i was gifted fabric from others and also was into recycling stuff so i had a lot of smaller boxes full of stuff. I am still trying to use things up and i set a rule to first look into the fabric i already have and i have to have a pattern so i precisley know how much i need. It feels so much better now although i still have a lot of things. I try to give away as much as i can but I also try to reuse or use up like you do with make up. It is so ridiculous to what kinds of stuff you can hold on and i guess it is mostly the "i deal with it later" mindset, that we put something "away" in some sort of storage.
