    I'm a 59 year old ICAEW sole practitioner who spent the first 12 years of my career as an employee in a mixture of public practice, industry, and the public sector, before starting my own practice. Throughout that time I have laughed at the ridiculously exaggerated earnings figures for accountants that recruitment agencies and professional bodies routinely throw around. Fehzan's figures are, by contrast, completely correct by my estimation. The only thing I would add is that young people considering an accountancy career should not assume they will ever reach the higher levels of earnings, and be prepared to settle at a long term salary of around £50,000 after qualification, as that is what most qualified accountants earn.

      Hi. I'm really confused with the weird numbers that ICAEW, PWC and other bodies show...I saw a median reporting of 134K pounds, so is that even possible in early stages (4-6 years), or, does it even reach till there for most people, or is it lower even in regions like London

    Salaam brother whats your opinion on using an audit graduate scheme at a top10 accounting firm as a way to get qualified (ACA) and then change direction ie via internal transfer or external move to a different arm in a firm such as consulting, do you think it can still follow a similar route to 6 figure salary within 10-12 years? Not that money is the end all but just as a guideline, as I think staying primarily in audit/accounting is not completely suited to my skillset

    Let's say it takes a GCSE student school leaver around 16 months to clock AAT Apprenticeship, some listings online state that they will accept AAT qualified accountants who are studying towards ACCA, etc, these listings pay 20k+ a year. Could it be viable to get to that pay within two years then? Salaam and may Allah bless you for the manner in which you state this info.

After I will finish studying the first two levels I am thinking to apply for my first role in an industry or in a practice. But my big concern is that I don't have any prior experience . I know that is recommended to do an apprenticeship or a traineeship if you are starting into finance, but … I don’t think I can afford getting paid with £12k - £13k a year having two kids and raising a family. I am not sure if I can wait a few years till I am getting paid enough to support my family. What would you suggest? How can I “avoid” doing the apprenticeships and getting a job in accountancy with no experience with at least 18 -£19k a year? Thanks!

      Definitely AAT is a good foundation qualification and in shaa allah will set you up to become a supervisor in many processing type roles ie accounts payable, receivables, credit control, and payroll. Salary wise can hit around the £30k mark but don’t stop there think of the AAT as a stepping stone to becoming a fully qualified accountant where your earning potential becomes much higher!

    Hello what would be the salary for a professional accountant (acca, cima, aat) and MBA in finance and business?

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  3 роки тому +1

      That depends on experience, company, and route. For example if you do a MBA after years of experience and join a MBA specific programme you could reasonably expect to earn close to £100k. One of the benefits of a MBA is the network that you develop.
      If you join a normal graduate programme because you did a MBA straight after your degree then you can expect a salary of £28-30k. Your MBA wouldn’t necessarily mean a higher salary in all instances

The MBA would may be add a few k to your salary, however, if you're going to be a chartered accountant just because you did a MBA after your bachelors doesn't mean that will give you a higher salary than colleagues who are chartered accountants without a MBA.
