- Bryan Adams long time drummer Mickey Curry sits down for a 1 on 1 interview with Bob Evans DrumHeads & Tales. Curry has also worked with Hall & Oates, Cher, Tina Turner, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sam Phillips, Tom Waits, Survivor, The Cult, Roy Orbison, T Bone Burnett, Richard Thompson and many other musicians.
Mickey plays Yamaha Drums and uses Regal Tip sticks by Calato.
I am Mickey Curry's biggest fan. How could I possibly reach him. I admire his great skills on drums. God bless him and wife Susan👍
It's great to see others on here giving recognition (finally) to one of the most solid (and my personal favorite) drummers in the business! Mickey Curry's "The Man!"
I remember Mickey in high school, he had his practice pad with him in every class. So proud of my classmate! Have a feeling I've seen him in concert with several folks he's played with and never realized he was the drummer.
Mickey interview!!! YES!! I’ve always loved his pocket 😁
Fire Woman and Family Man are so good
Said it all fantastic .
Mickey is a great guy!!!!
Thank you...Mickey is one of best! My favourite!
Checkout Mickey on Tom Cochrane’s Mad Mad World album. Awesome sound. The drums are mixed very high. Life is a Highway was the hit.
Love Mickey Curry. Thanks for posting the interview Bob, what an awesome person & player. I hope to meet Mickey one day and thank him for his inspirational playing.
In another interview Mickey says he is waiting to hear from Bryan, when to go the next tour. In an interview with Keith Scott, he says Mickey didn't want to go out again, so that is why Pat Stewart (tour drummer (and occasional studio drummer in 83-84 for Adams) from in 1984-1985) is playing live with them again.
Mickey Curry's SOUND was unmatched in his prime. I had him under the radar for the longest. Not to mention Bob Clearmountian tuning his drums and selecting all the mics and mixing the drums with the music 🎶
He's the drummer on a lot of things where I always loved the drumming but never knew who the drummer was - such as the original life is a highway and feed my frankenstein. My boss met him at a namm show and said he's the coolest to hang and chat with and is a wealth of drumming and musical knowledge.
wonderful interview with Mickey Curry :)
This dude’s rim shot sound sets him apart from every other player in the universe
My #1… I love Mickey Curry.
Bar band to the big league may’ve not been as big a jump as you’d thought. Right time, right place.
He hit it on the head with his sad proclamation regarding the lack of music education, and venue for young musicians.
A real 'Song Drummer'. and does it so well. sure...we've got our Thomas Lang's, or Colaiuta's, or Todd Suchermans'....but Mickey is 'Old School'...Bad ass. Wasn't about 'blazing, busy chops or having this 'off the charts' ability to be 'technical. He knew how to just 'lay down' the best grooves and feels...for the Artists he was playing with. That's HUGE. Love me some Mickey Curry!
Even with medical problems + Rick Allen play great!
Others MC played with Steve Jones, Andy Taylor, Alice Cooper, Cher, Lara Fabian.
Underrated. Belongs in Top 100 greatest drummers.
That throne position …
another great drummer H&O BA 🥁
What a piece of Art... Lol
H&O Delayed Reaction. He really does sit so low its like seeing a kid playing a childs kit.
Mickey Curry's SOUND was unmatched in his prime. I had him under the radar for the longest. Not to mention Bob Clearmountian tuning his drums and selecting all the mics and mixing the drums with the music 🎶
